GW14 proved to be a tricky one for managers after Haaland was not involved against Leicester. Mo Salah who finished second in our captaincy metrics returned against Leeds which was a positive. With two more weeks to go before the world cup break, getting green arrows is important and captaincy plays a key role in achieving the same. FPL GW15 Captaincy poll ~ Wisdom Of the Crowd
For the first this season we have two Newcastle assets in the top five of the captaincy poll and it’s totally based on the fact that Newcastle assets have been high flying this season. Tripper is the highest-scoring defender with 75 pts, and Almiron is the joint highest-scoring midfielder with 78 pts, Wilson is the second highest-scoring forward since GW9 after returning from injury. Even with injury concerns, Haaland tops the captaincy poll with nearly 1 in every 3 votes, and Callum Wilson is second with 30% of the votes following a 19-point haul last week. KDB, Salah, and Almiron finish in the top five of the FPL Gameweek 15 captaincy poll.

Underlying Numbers of the FPL Gameweek 15 Captain picks
For the first time, someone else other than Haaland tops the individual stats with Wilson(4.67) registering a higher xG than Haaland(4.38) in the last six games. Salah is third with an xG of 3.04 with six big chances, one less than Haaland and Wilson who have had 7 big chances. Almiron is fourth in the table with an xG of 2.67, he’s been scoring bangers from low xG chances and is one of the in-form players in the premier league currently. Kevin De Bruyne as expected is last in the individual table as he’s more of a creator than a finisher when compared with the other four players.

Newcastle have been in great run of form and their numbers speak for themselves as they have outscored Liverpool(9.79) and Man City(10.46) in terms of xG in spite of the fact they faced some of the big six teams(Man United and Spurs) in the last six games.

Fixture Difficulty of the candidate team in FPL GW15
The home game for Man City mean they have the most favorable fixture based on odds. Man City have a whopping 95% chance of scoring one goal and a 69% chance of scoring 2+ goals. Newcastle have a better fixture in comparison to Liverpool with the magpies enjoying a 78% chance of scoring a goal and a 25% chance of 2+ goal. Liverpool as such aren’t far behind against an injury-hit Spurs team with a 71% chance of scoring a goal and a 27% chance of 2+ goal.

Projections Rank of our FPL Gameweek 15 Captain Picks
Haaland tops the anytime returns for the week with a whopping 86% chance of anytime returns, KDB is second with an anytime returns of 80%. It’s KDB who tops the points projection with 9.1 points projected for GW15. Wilson(57%) and Salah(51%) have similar anytime return odds with Salah edging him out in terms of points projection. Almiron is last with a 33% chance of returns and a 4.2 points projection for FPL GW15.

Haaland tops the metrics this week but only by a difference of 1 in CRF(Cumulative rank difference) with Wilson finishing second with a CRF of 8. KDB is third, Almiron is fourth and Salah is last in this week’s captaincy metrics.

He’s (Haaland) much better. We will decide today. It’s a good step, he starts to train and we have training this afternoon and we will see.
PS: We have included Haaland as there is no clear-cut update on his injury concern, if he’s out then Wilson who is second becomes the best captaincy choice according to our metrics.
Remember the player with the lowest CRF is the best captain choice according to our metrics.
