FPL GW9 Review
FPL GW9 Review Notes- Sunday games
- Haaland and Foden both scored hattricks against Manchester United. Foden had the highest xG (1.29) whereas Haaland had the highest xA (1.11) in the game. Moreover, Haaland had the second highest xG (1.02) for Man City. KDB also had a good game where he accumulated an xA of 0.62 and bagged two assists.
- Martial scored two goals (one from a penalty) after coming on from the bench and had the highest npxG 0.68 for Man United. Antony scored a screamer from outside the box and he accumulated xG of 0.16 and took 5 shots (most for Man United).
- AVL had a team xG of 1.90 but couldn’t score a single goal thanks to the Leeds goalkeeper Meslier who’s had a wonderful game. Meslier made 6 saves and earned 3 bonus points.
- Watkins took 6 shots (4 on target) where he had xG 0.67. He could be on the watchlist if Mitrovic is out long-term. Coutinho also took 4 shots (2 on target and 1 hit woodwork) where he accumulated xG of 0.76 this week.
FPL GW9 Review Notes- Saturday games
- Jesus makes the highest xG, xA list for the third time in a row which represents his brilliant run of form lately. He’s always involved in Arsenal attacks. He missed an easy header which could bring more pain to many GW9 Wildcarders who sold him this week.
- Martinelli had the most xA for Arsenal and he played brilliantly too. It seems that this season, Xhaka was given a new role by Arteta which lets him get involved in the attacks more often.
- Kane had the most xG (0.93) for Spurs but his npxG (0.17) was not promising at all. Richarlison had the most npxG (0.49) in their team.
- Newcastle stole the game away early from Fulham when Chalobah was shown red. Lucky Cleansheet for Trippier as he was subbed off just before conceding. Wilson and Willock both had a very good game where they got the highest xG (1.72) and xA (2.10) respectively this week so far. Almiron had an amazing game as well with 2 goals.
- Unlucky for Mitrovic owners, he got a yellow for argument before getting subbed off injured at 37’.
- Though Brentford’s main man Toney had the highest xG (0.83) in the game I wouldn’t say he had a good game. He’s had 6 shots but only 1 on target. He missed a big chance too. Toney was shown a yellow for argument.
- Solanke did not take a single shot on target. However, Bournemouth was denied two penalties in the game.
- Sterling had the highest xG (0.70) in the Chelsea vs Crystal Palace game. He also had the most shots (3), key passes (3) for Chelsea this week. He could be on the watchlist in the coming weeks.
- Trossard had one of the best games this season where he scored a well-deserved hattrick against Liverpool. Trossard had the second highest xG this week having an xG of 1.54. BHA looked more attacking under the new manager. Trossard and March both looked very promising in the attacks.
- Firmino scored two goals with an xG of 1.35. Salah also looked sharp and had an assist. Trent looked bad defensively but was highly involved in the attacks.
- Bowen was clearly West Ham’s best player in the game against Wolves where he topped in both xG and xA. He had 4 shots and all of them were inside the pen area. Fabianski played really well too.
- McNeil was on the score-sheet for Everton and had the second highest xA (1.17) so far this week.
