FPL GW32 Forwards Analysis

Ollie Watkins vs Brentford(A)

FPL GW32 Forwards Analysis ~ Watkins

Under Unai Emery, Watkins seems to be having the form of his life. Watkins scored the highest 55 points among all players in the last 6 GWs. Aston Villa had accumulated 4th best open play xG of 9.43 in the last six GWs having scored 14 goals in that period. I believe Watkins is a must-own in the FH32 team.

In seven away games from Villa since the restart(FPL GW17) Watkins has not blanked once and has scored 6 goals plus an assist for a total of 51 points during the period. Only Haaland has scored more away goals(7) but he has played two more away games(9) during the period.

Gabriel Jesus vs Southampton(H)

FPL GW32 Forwards Analysis ~ Jesus

After returning from injury, Jesus scored 4 goals in 3 starts. He has the highest expected points (5.6 pts) among forwards this week. The only downside of owning him is the expected minutes are comparatively low. Arsenal have the second-highest odds of scoring over 2 goals (55%) against SOU in GW32. Jesus can surely cause damage even if he doesn’t play 90 mins. However, Arsenal also have the highest odds of keeping CS (58%) this week, so some might prefer taking a defender instead.

Ivan Toney vs Aston Villa(H)

FPL GW32 Forwards Analysis ~ Toney

Toney’s underlying stats suggest he accumulated the most xG and xA in the last 6 GWs among all forwards. Brentford have only failed to score twice in their 15 home games this season. Even though Aston Villa are in terrific form lately, Brentford won’t be an easy game for them. Toney being the main man of the team and the penalty taker makes him a great option for the FH team. He is the second highest in the expected points list among forwards with 5.2 points.

Solanke vs West Ham(H)

FPL GW32 Forwards Analysis ~ Solanke

Solanke had the second-highest non-penalty xG of 3.56 among all forwards in the last six gameweeks. Playing against a tired West Ham team could be extra beneficial for the Bournemouth striker. In the last 6 GWs, West Ham had the 2nd worst mins per xG conceded just after Leeds. Solanke could be an excellent punt this week.

Harry Kane vs Newcastle(A)

FPL GW32 Forwards Analysis ~ Harry Kane

Kane has been one of the most consistent performers this season. But right now, Spurs don’t look good as a team. They will visit Newcastle this week who will not be easy to break at the back. However, he’s on penalties and always has been delivering all season so I don’t think he’s a bad option. But if you need extra funds to spread your money I think Kane might be the one to ignore this week.

Alexander Isak vs Spurs(H)

FPL GW32 Forwards Analysis ~ Isak

Isak is another option for the free hitters this week. Newcastle had the second-highest open play xG of 9.58 just after Brighton. They will welcome a shaky Spurs team at their home ground. But there’s always a minute risk for Isak and Wilson as both of them have been playing well lately. I wouldn’t recommend going down that risky road, especially when there are plenty of good FWD options to take right now.

Diogo Jota vs Nottingham Forest(H)

FPL GW32 Forwards Analysis ~ Diogo Jota

The table suggests Jota had the worst underlying stats in the last six gameweeks among these forwards. However, he seemed to be having to find his older version of himself in the last game against Leeds. But this year Liverpool have been unpredictable offensively and there are a number of options available in Klopp’s hand right now with Darwin, Firmino, and Diaz. Having said that, I expect Liverpool to score goals against NFO. The odds say they have a 55% of scoring over two goals this week. If you want to play ‘high-risk high reward’ then he could be an option for your team.

The Matchups heavily favour the in-form Watkins who is up against a Brentford side who have conceded 23 chances from the center over the last 6 matches which is the highest among all teams in the league. Isak(vs Spurs) and Toney(vs Villa) also have good matchups as their opponents are ranked 5th worst for Chances conceded from the center over the last 6 matches.

Verdict on FPL GW32 Forwards

In my opinion, the best two options to own in the FH team are Watkins and Jesus. The third option depends on your style of play. If you’re chasing big in mini league then I would suggest playing punt with Solanke/Jota/Isak this week or you could play safe with the likes of Toney/Kane.
