Welcome back to the Transfer Trends, Best Transfer Combinations, and FPL GW7 Tips. A lot of knee-jerk transfers were seen this week, before the European games this week. From managers saving or burning their transfer, a few weeks ago have now gone to using their Wildcard or taking hits to make major changes in their squads.
Two out of three combinations from the previous week were a success, with Gross getting 5 points, and Trippier an 8-pointer against Palace. The Ramsdale to Sanchez combination didn’t come through. However, he is still a great long-term pick to have on your team. With that, let’s get into Transfer trends ahead of FPL GW7.

FPL GW7 Tips | Transfer Deadline
Saturday 10th September at 11:00 AM BST
Top Transfer Ins and Outs ahead of FPL GW 7
This week’s most popular transfer in is Manchester United’s winger, Marcus Rashford. He has been playing as a forward in the team and scored a brace against the Gunners over the weekend. The second most transferred in player is Trippier. He has been one of the most consistent players since the start of the season.
To no surprise, on top of the list of most transferred out players is injured Rodrigo who is projected to be out for 3-4 weeks. The second on the list is a bit controversial, as around 375k managers decided to go against the Egyptian king, Mo Salah. For the most expensive player in the game, his output this season has not been up to par, thereby managers going for other cheaper options out there.

FPL GW7 Tips – Best Transfer Combinations
Transfer Combination 1:
Rodrigo (6.5m) to Rashford (6.5m)
This week, yet again the most transferred out player ahead of the deadline is Rodri. However, the best combination is now getting United’s winger, Marcus Rashford for him. He has been playing as a forward in the United XI and looks to be nailed on to start on a regular basis.
It seems that Erik Ten Haag’s strategies are finally starting to click. United’s performance has been impeccable over the past two-three weeks. Moreover, the signing of Antony has given the team a lot more shape, as they were in a dire need of a winger like him. The team as a whole look much better as compared to GW1.
Underlying Numbers | Marcus Rashford
Average Statistic per 90 mins | Marcus Rashford |
---|---|
Expected Goals | 0.37 |
Shots | 2.58 |
Shots on Target | 0.69 |
Shots in Box | 2.07 |
Expected Assists | 0.19 |
Big Chance Created | 0.34 |
Rashford has posted decent underlying numbers over the six weeks. He has scored a total of 3 goals and assisted two out of a per 90 minutes xG of 0.37. He has also taken a total of 15 shots, out of which most of them were from inside the box.
Player Heatmap | Marcus Rashford
From the heat map and shots taken, it can be seen he has been lurking forward a lot. Eriksen’s role has also been helping him to get into such positions.
Fixture Analysis | Manchester United
In GW7, United play Crystal Palace, who based on the underlying numbers are the worst defence in the league. They have an xGC/90 of 1.9, which is third from the bottom. After Palace, they go on to face Leeds at home in GW8. With Wildcard in the back pocket, jumping on United assets for the short term could really be beneficial.
Transfer Combination 2:
Cucurella (5.2m) to Trippier (5.2m)
The second best transfer combination ahead of FPL GW 7, is Marc Cucurella to Kieran Trippier. He was too hyped, to match his output in the Chelsea team. Despite playing at wing-back, unlike Reece James who was playing as a RCB, he was able to score just 12 points over the period of five weeks.
On the contrary, Trippier has been amazingly consistent this season. Newcastle’s defence is also performing better this season, thereby allowing him to rack up the clean sheet points as well.
Underlying Numbers | Kieran Trippier
Average Statistic per 90 mins | Kieran Trippier |
---|---|
Expected Goals | 0.05 |
Shots | 0.67 |
Shots on Target | 0.33 |
Shots in Box | 0.00 |
Expected Assists | 0.12 |
Big Chance Created | 0.17 |
Trippier has decent underlying stats, combined with Newcastle’s defensive performance lately. He has scored a total of 30 points this season, averaging a 5-pointer every week. He has been providing tremendous value, at just 5.2m. With scarce options available in defence this season, and a lot of big names also underperforming, he should be the first name on your team sheet.
Player Heatmap Comparison
Both, Cucurella’s and Trippier’s heatmap look pretty decent for defenders. However, factoring in that Cucurella plays in a 5 man defence as a left wing-back and Trippier as a right-back in a 4 man defence, it makes the case for Trippier much better. he has been taking a lot of touches in the opposition’s half and always looking to cross the ball inside the box.
Fixtures | Newcastle
Newcastle have lucrative upcoming fixtures. They go on to face Bournemouth, Fulham, and Brentford back to back after facing West Ham in GW7. With such amazing fixtures upcoming for Newcastle, with the form Trippier is in, and their defensive performance, he has high prospects for racking up double-digit scores over the period. His ownership currently stands at 34.5 per cent which is only going to go up, considering all of this.

Transfer Combination 3:
Perisic (5.6m) to Dalot (4.5m)
The third and final best transfer combination ahead of FPL GW7, is Perisic to United’s full-back Dalot. Although Perisic is a great asset to own, he is subject to high rotation with Spurs having European commitments and ensuring Perisic’s fitness.
At the same time, Dalot, has been a great differential to own in defence this season. Priced at just 4.5m, he has scored a total of 23 points already this season. With things starting to look optimistic for United, he could be a great asset to own.
Underlying Numbers | Dalot
Average Statistic per 90 mins | Diogo Dalot |
---|---|
Expected Goals | 0.05 |
Shots | 0.67 |
Shots on Target | 0.5 |
Shots in Box | 0.5 |
Expected Assists | 0.15 |
Big Chance Created | 0.17 |
Crosses | 0.84 |
Dalot has good enough underlying numbers for a 4.5m defender. He has consistently been getting 90 minutes week in and week out.
Player Heatmap | Dalot
Dalot’s heatmap, for a full back, is pretty decent. He might be able to get into more advanced positions, after the signing of Antony. He had an amazing pre-season and has 1 assist to his name so far. He could be an unreal asset if United manages to keep a few clean sheets over the next few weeks.
Fixtures | United
United face Palace, Leeds, and Everton in the next four. These are great fixtures for Untied to keep clean sheets in, and for Dalot to get some attacking returns. Everton and Palace have been poor defensively so far. Moreover, if you are planning to Wildcard in a few weeks, taking a punt on United assets could be worth it.
