Last week proved to be a good week with a lot of captaincy options including the one who topped our metric, KDB returing a double digit haul. We are now back for the FPL Gameweek 25 Captain Picks based on our metric, so without further ado let’s see who tops our captaincy metric.

FPL GW25 Captaincy poll ~ Wisdom Of the Crowd

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, tops the polls with 45% of the votes. Teammate Ronaldo is the second on our poll with 21% of the votes. Salah and KDB are third and fourth respectively with similar votes. GW24 hero, Jota is fifth with 3% of the votes.

Underlying Numbers of the FPL Gameweek 25 Captain picks
Mo Salah is miles ahead in terms of individual stats over the last six games. His xG of 4.92 is more than double of the next nearest candidate, Jota. Bruno Fernandes tops the chances created number with a total 19 chances created which is more than that of KDB during the period. Salah also tops the big chances number with a total 9 big chances in the last six games, a whopping 1.5 big chances per game.

Underlying Numbers of the Candidates Teams
Without a surprise Liverpool lead the team numbers over the last six games with an impressive 20 big chances and 12.21 xG over the period. Man united’s number are also pretty decent as well but they have been unlucky at times for not being able to convert the numbers into goals something which all of us managers will be hoping happens in this DGW.

Fixture Difficulty of the candidate team in FPL GW25
In the Third Phase of the Article, we look at the Fixture Difficulty of our 5 Candidates.
We will use Drafthound’s odds for a Team scoring at least One goal in the Gameweek and the Odds of Scoring more than 2.5 goals in the Gameweek as a whole. You can check out the same as well for free on Drafthound along with fixture analysis, predicted analysis, and more.
A double gameweek means the odds always favor the candidate’s having a double. Man United have a 97% chance of scoring a goal in FPL GW25 and a 65% chance of scoring more than 2.5+ goals.
Projections Rank of our FPL Gameweek 25 Captain Picks
In the Fourth Phase of the article, We have used the Anytime Returns and Projected Points Tools available at Fantasy Football Hub.
With the help of the Anytime Returns Tool, I have derived the Safety Rank, which helps in determining the Safest Captaincy Option of the week, while I have used the Projected Points Tool to determine the Explosion Rank, which helps in determining the Most Explosive Option of the week.
Ronlado(84%) has a slightly better returns% than Bruno(80%) while Bruno(11.1) has a better projected points compared to Ronaldo(10.4) partly due to the fact that one is a mid and the other is a forward.
Conclusion – Final Rank from our FPL Gameweek 25 Captaincy metric analysis
In the Fifth and Final Phase of the article, I have aggregated the Ranks derived above to pull out the Cumulative Rank Factor (CRF). The Candidate having the lowest Cumulative Rank Factor is the most ideal Captaincy Option according to this metric.
Ronaldo tops the metric for FPL GW25 with a CRF of 9 closely followed by Bruno(10) who is joint second with Salah(10) who is up there inspite of the fact that he plays only once in FPL GW25. Jota is fourth and KDB is last according to our metric.
