FPL DGW26 Differential Picks(<10% TSB)

Andy Robertson vs Norwich(H), Leeds(H), TSB:6.6%

FPL DGW26 Differential pick ~ Robbo
Robertson could be the most profitable differential this week

Andy Robertson makes our differential list for the third week running. Liverpool have been consistent defensively and the prospect of facing two favorable opponents as part of the double makes him a viable option. Furthermore, Jota’s fitness concerns makes him an even enterprising option as the third player to pick from Liverpool ahead of FPL DGW26.

The Liverpool left-back has blanked in only one of his last ten starts. He has got at least 5 points in all the other matches, hitting double figures on three occasions. Even Mo Salah has got only 1 double figure return since GW10 onwards. Robbo also picked up an assist in the midweek Champions League fixture against Inter.

Robertson- Key Stats

  • Third highest points scorer in FPL since GW13, and top among defenders, with 79 points
  • Joint highest for bonus points(14) since Matchday 13

Gabriel vs Brentford(H), Wolves(H), TSB:7.2%

FPL DGW26 Differential pick ~ Gabriel
Gabriel Ma-goal-es

Arsenal’s double is arguably the best as far as clean sheets are concerned. The Gunners take on two teams who struggle for goals to say the least. In fact, since GW13, Wolves(9) and Brentford(10) have scored the fourth least and the fifth least amount of goals in the league, respectively. To put it in context, Arsenal themselves have scored more than their two opponents combined, in that time.

Mikel Arteta’s men started the season poorly with 3 straight defeats. But since Gameweek 4, or in other words, since Gabriel’s return to the starting eleven, their fortunes have changed. The Gunners have kept 11 clean sheets(second best), have an xGC of 22.4( 2nd best) in that time.

Gabriel has not just been a defender who makes Arsenal solid at the back, he also pops up with crucial attacking returns. The Brazilian has scored 3 goals this season so far, the joint second highest among defenders.

Numbers Game

  • Gabriel scored the winner in the reverse fixture against Wolves, which happened only a week back.
  • No team has conceded more headed attempts on goal than Brentford this season and Gabriel has the sixth highest number of shots in the box among defenders.

Pro Tip: Arsenal could have a double in GW28 as well, and they are ever reliable defensively. Therefore it is extremely important to invest in their defense. Although Gabriel is expensive, his goal threat makes him a worthy pick over the other defenders.

Nick Pope vs Brighton(A), Spurs(H), TSB:2.7%

FPL DGW26 Differential pick ~ Pope
Pope can repeat the heroics of his last double Gameweek

Burnley have underperformed this season. They have only 14 points on the board and are comfortably bottom of the table. But delving a little deeper into their numbers suggest that they have been a tad unlucky. The Clarets have the seventh best defense in the league this season, having conceded just 29 goals.

Nick Pope has been in excellent form in recent weeks. The Englishman has 4 shut outs in his last 7 starts, and has given away a mere 3 goals in that time. With four fixtures in the next 2 GWs, Pope is an excellent alternative to someone like a Ramsdale, who only has two games in that time.

The Clarets goalkeeper has been a stellar performer in FPL consistently. He has registered 144, 170 and 152 points, respectively, in his three previous seasons. This campaign so far he has got 72 points. With Burnley having three games in hand, plus Burnley’s recent improvement suggests big hauls are around the corner.

Nick Pope- Numbers

  • Four of the last eight meetings between Burnley and Brighton have ended 0-0
  • Nick Pope has tended to be amazing in one half of the season and mediocre in the other half of his FPL career. In the 20-21 season, he scored 92 points in the first half of the season but only 47 in the second half. in the 19-20 campaign, he registered 72 in the former part and 95 in the latter.

Raheem Sterling vs Spurs(H), TSB:3.4%

FPL DGW26 Differential pick ~ Sterling
Another Sterling performance around the corner?

After having a mini dip from GW20- GW23, Raheem Sterling has stormed back into form in the last two gameweeks. His hattrick last week at Carrow Road meant that he has taken his FPL tally to 108 points, the 7th highest among midfielders and 12th highest overall.

Heatmap taken from ~FFFix

While this is a double GW, we can’t ignore players that have one fixture, especially if it is a good one like Man City has in FPL DGW26. Spurs have given away 9 goals in the last four matches, only Brentford has a worse tally. Besides, Spurs have shown a blatant weakness down their right flank. Emerson Royal has been below par while Doherty hasn’t fared any better while he has played. To put it in numbers, the North London side has conceded 32% of chances down this flank, the joint third-worst in the league. We all know that is exactly where Raheem Sterling operates, as we can see from the above heatmap. The Englishman is likely to have a field day!

Stat Attack- Raheem Sterling

  • Highest for big chances(15), xG(8.98) and goals(9) since GW13
  • Third highest for points(89) since GW13

Raul Jimenez vs Leicester(H), Arsenal(A), TSB:6.4%

FPL DGW26 Differential pick ~ Jimenez
Getting back to his best

It has been a difficult campaign for Raul Jimenez. It has taken time for the Mexican to get back to his old self post his traumatic injury. But he has been showing signs of his form coming back in recent weeks. Jimenez has 2 goals in his last 3 starts. On top of that, he has passed the eye test, he has been able to hold the ball like he used in his peak.

Jimenez from GW1-21 vs GW22-25

There is a clear shift in roles and playing style in recent weeks for Jimenez. The striker has been getting himself into more goal-scoring positions as opposed to being a creative force before that. One of Wolves’ FPL DGW26 opponents- Leicester, have the second worst defense in the league with an xGC of 43.2

Jimenez’s fixtures

As we can see from the above image, Wolves have a very good run of games coming up. As a result of which Jimenez is a long-term investment for managers. Interestingly, Wolves have a confirmed fixture in Gameweeks 27, and most importantly GW 30. This makes their assets very important.

Ultra Differential Pick for FPL DGW26

Mohamed Elyounoussi vs Everton(H), TSB:0.1%

FPL DGW26 Differential pick ~ Mohamed Elyounoussi
A left field pick to climb up the ladder

We round of our differentials with another single GW player. Southampton’s Mohamed Elyounoussi has caught the eye in recent weeks. He has 2 goals and an assist in his last 4 starts, along with 4 bonus points. Elyounoussi has played an integral part in getting points against Man Utd and Spurs in the last two matches.

Southampton’s fixtures

The Saints have lost just two of their last eleven games. In this time, they have got points against both the Manchester clubs and twice against Spurs. Their fixtures in the next month or so is filled with greenery as far as the FDR chart is concerned. Given the fact that Elyounoussi costs a mere £5.4, he offers the cheapest route into the Southampton attack, along with Broja.
