It is to be debated that if GW23 if the best time to wildcard or not. It totally depends on your team structure and there is no right or wrong decision in FPL. If you are planning to Wildcard in GW23, you have come to the right place. Key points, Justification, Alternate options & Planning Notes for the above Wildcard draft:
- Watford and Burnley double in GW23. Dennis(6.1) and King(5.8) are the best picks from either of the sides.
- Aston Villa and Leeds United likely to double in GW24- Watkins, Digne and Raphinha are three of the best options from those doubles.
- Villa don’t blank in GW27 & GW30(FA Cup Quarter finals) and good fixtures from GW23- GW30(Everton, Leeds, Newcastle, Watford, Brighton, Southampton, West Ham, Arsenal). Double up on Watkins and Digne good move going forward.
- Trent Alexander Arnold and Cancelo must own defenders at this point with the ownership and form they are in.
- De Bruyne(12.1) good punt for few weeks and a good place holder for Salah when he returns back. Jota to Foden also good option going forward when Salah, Mane return from AFCON and Jota’s minutes start to reduce.
- Having 1.6 in the bank allows you to go to Dennis(6.1) to Watkins(7.7) if the Villa double gets confirmed in GW24. Gallagher(6.1) slot could be rotated to attack the upcoming Double Gameweek fixtures. Coutinho(7.0) & Ramsey(4.6) can also be a good option if Villa double in GW24. Moura(6.6), Cornet(5.9) good options when they get their chance to double.
- King(5.8) to Broja(5.1) helps you to make enough funds to go to KDB to Salah once Salah is back.
- Ronaldo not in great form, but great upcoming fixtures against worst defenses in the league- West Ham, Burnley, Southampton, Leeds, Watford. Can move to Kane if he gets those doubles and continues his form. Wouldn’t be a bad move to get Kane direct on the Wildcard.
- Despite missing 11 games due to injury, Ait Nouri still tops the charts among Wolves players for big chances created(3) and assists(3). He is owned by less than 1% managers and features in our GW23 Differentials article.
- Bowen and Broja are both in brilliant form and are the best options in that price range in their respective positions for the longer run.
- Sanchez(4.6) & Foster(4.1) as Goal Keepers. Foster has a double in GW23. Brighton have good run of fixtures and 2 games to be rescheduled- Tottenham and Manchester United. Watford have 2 games to be rescheduled- Palace and Wolves.
- Laporte, Sa, Foden, Antonio, Sterling other good options to consider on Wildcard.
