Chelsea assets surprisingly dominate the top 3 transfers out this week. Alonso’s 4th consecutive benching sees him lead the charge of the top transfers out this week, with 134k managers shipping him out. Kovacic’s hamstring injury sees 129k managers transfer him out.

And, despite his impressive hattrick performance against Norwich, Mount’s unexpected illness was a huge blow to the managers who brought the midfielder in for Newcastle, with 89k managers not eager to hold.

Brentford goalkeeper Raya’s knee injury means he will be sidelined to March 2022, which is a huge blow to Brentford as well as owners, with 85k managers taking him out. Finally, Watford winger Sarr’s 4th consecutive blanks sees 84k managers transfer him out.

On the flip side, Chelsea wing-back Reece James’ brace and clean sheet sees him lead the top transfers in list, with 446k managers bringing him in. Smith Rowe’s goal against Leicester sees 321k managers eager to bring the Arsenal midfielder in for their home game against Watford.

Crystal Palace’s surprise victory over Manchester City, thanks to a goal and assist from Gallagher, makes it no surprise that the Palace midfielder has 170k managers bringing him in. 130k managers bring in Arsenal goalkeeper Ramsdale after his stellar performance against Leicester.

To wrap it all up, Chelsea defender Chilwell sees another 99k managers eager to invest in the in-form Chelsea defence.

The 3 transfer combinations we will be focusing on are: Raya to Ramsdale, Sarr to Smith Rowe, and Azpilicueta to James.

Top Three FPL GW11 Transfer Trends Combinations

Brentford goalkeeper Raya has been a popular budget pick, considering Brentford’s decent defensive form; however, his knee injury ruling him out to March 2022 has prompted managers to transfer him out. 65.9% of managers have made the switch to Arsenal’s new signing Aaron Ramsdale.

Ramsdale was a popular pick on a good number of wildcard drafts, given his price and security of starts. And managers were finally rewarded with a stunning 10 point haul against Leicester, where he kept a clean sheet, registered a whopping 8 saves, and collected 2 bonus points to top it off.

If you’re looking for a budget goalkeeper who has made 24 saves in the last 7 games (an average of 3.4 saves per game) and plays for an Arsenal side who, surprisingly, have kept 4 clean sheets (3rd best among all teams), Ramsdale could be worth considering.

And, if you’ve had the chance to watch any of the games Ramsdale has played in, you’ll be quick to recognize his passion for playing. His stellar acrobatic save against Leicester is a testament to his work rate.

Who do Arsenal face in GW11?

Arsenal play Watford at home in GW11. Coming off of their third consecutive loss, Watford are struggling to find their flow and rhythm under new manager Claudio Ranieri. Among all teams, they have the 4th lowest xG of 11.8. Additionally, they are 2nd for least total shots taken (106).

Arsenal will want to continue their winning streak. Ramsdale will be integral in keeping that clean sheet.

Watford have taken the 2nd least total shots among all teams, 106 in total.

FPL GW11 Transfer Combination 2: Ismaila Sarr (£6.2) to Emile Smith Rowe (£5.6)

Watford winger Ismaila Sarr’s 4th consecutive blank makes it no surprise managers are looking to ship him out, with 50.1% of managers opting for Arsenal youngster Emile Smith Rowe.

And why wouldn’t they, after Smith Rowe claiming 9 points from his goal against Leicester. The Arsenal number 10 is finding his groove amidst the team, and, at £5.6, he is a great value pick.

Statistically, he is joint 1st among sub 6m midfielders for most shots on target (9). With 3 goals to his name, all of which were scored in the box, it’s very difficult to ignore the value he offers.

Who do Arsenal face in GW11?

As mentioned earlier, Arsenal play Watford at home in GW11. Defensively, Watford have conceded 27 big chances, 3rd worst among all teams. They have the highest non-penalty xGC at 10.2 and have kept 0 clean sheets!

With that being said, all seems to work in Arsenal’s and ESR’s favour.

FPL GW11 Transfer Combination 3: Cesar Azpilicueta (£6.1) to Reece James (£5.7)

FPL GW11 Transfer Trends ~ Azipilicueta to Recce James
Chelsea’s fixtures from GW11-17
Chelsea’s fixtures from GW11-17

As we continue to learn, Tuchel’s rotation continues to strike unsuspecting FPL managers, as Azpilicueta, despite being captain, sees a 2nd consecutive blank. 14.2.% of managers have been quick to make the swap to fellow Chelsea wing-back Reece James.

James is coming off of a second consecutive double digit haul, scoring 13 and 21 points in GWs 9 and 10 respectively. Against Newcastle, James scored a brace and kept a clean sheet. He is currently the highest goal-scoring defender with 4 goals to his name.

He shares set-piece duties on corners and a few free kicks and is joint 2nd for total shots on target among all defenders (5).

This isn’t to say that his wing-back counterpart, Ben Chilwell, is not a viable pick. Chilwell, as discussed in the last edition of Transfer Trends, is a sound pick in the Chelsea defense. However, if you are short on funds, James helps to save you that extra 0.3m. James is also owned by less managers (at the time of writing), so he could be a decent differential pick for those looking to chase in rank.

Who do Chelsea face in GW11?

Chelsea play Burnley at home in GW11. Burnley have conceded 37% of their shots from their left flank, which is the right wing that James plays on. Burnley have also only kept 1 clean sheet and have conceded 16 goals. They have also conceded 155 total shots (4th worst) and 105 shots in the box (worst).

A great fixture for Chelsea and James to do well in.

Burnley have conceded the most shots in the box among all teams (105).
