FPL GW9 Analysis: Players to Buy, Hold or Sell?
(Player prices, ownership percentages, and transfer INs/OUTs change live. The quoted numbers may differ with the actuals when you read the article)
Jamie Vardy – Buy
We shouldn’t actually avoid which we were doing it for the past 8 Gameweeks and he has started this season very strongly, having the most FPL Points among the forwards with 56 points so far in the season.
In his next five fixtures, he faces – Brentford(A), Arsenal(H), Leeds(A), Chelsea(H) and Watford(H).

Phil Foden – Buy
Phil Foden is actually getting into his shape after an injury-hit start to his campaign, scoring 16 FPL Points from just 3 starts, averaging 5.3 points per game which is an incredible comeback from his injury.
His stat of 1.3 shots per game and 1.3 key passes per game is really good among his fellow FPL Assets. Foden was City’s key wide outlet as a dribbler & runner in behind (vs Liverpool & Burnley), in the next game (vs Brugge), Foden was appointed a new playmaker role in the central position.
Here is our data related to Foden since gameweek 6:
In the next five fixtures, he faces – Brighton(A), Crystal Palace(H), Manchester United(A), Everton(H), and West Ham United(H).

Ismaila Sarr – Hold
Even if you see some red marked fixtures ahead for Sarr, it wouldn’t surprise me if Sarr gets into the scoresheet for Watford in the next few games, yes they looked pale against a Liverpool side that outplayed them but on a fair judgment, they had a new manager coming in, everyone trying to adapt to his style of play and it was very very unfortunate for Watford to face Liverpool in such a situation.
Let’s have look at Sarr’s numbers from Gameweek 1:
His next five fixtures are – Everton(A), Southampton(H), Arsenal(A), Manchester United(H), Leicester City (A)

Antonio Rüdiger – Hold
The most consistent and trustworthy player in Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea Line-up, he returned from his back injury and player full 90 minutes against Malmo and straight away into action by winning 4 out of 5 ground duels, had an assist for winning the second penalty for Chelsea. He’s fully focused to feature against Norwich this Gameweek.
According to FF_HQ, he has a 65% odds of GW9 anytime return which clearly suggests him as a top FPL asset in our defender’s list.
His next five fixtures are – Norwich(H), Newcastle(A), Burnley(H), Leicester City(A), Manchester United(H) which is an incredible fixture run, won’t mind doubling up a Chelsea defense maybe.

Luke Shaw – Sell
There are some defensive worries for Manchester United at the moment, they’re leaking quite a lot of goals at the moment, 4 against Leicester City, 2 against Atalanta, it is not wise to have Shaw in your team despite his attacking threat and set pieces which might work very less as United are playing with 5 attacking player including Pogba, their lack of defense midfielders to safeguard their defense which looks void and that space is being exploited at the moment by their oppositions.
In the last game, he delivered a wonderful cross to Ronaldo and he put that right into the bottom corner which is almost a dream for every FPL Manager but to be fair he hasn’t done anything like that so far in this Premier League campaign.
It will be wrong to blame him completely as his stats say the opposite. He ranks 3rd for key passes(18), which shows his potential but at his price, there are other FPL Assets that are performing much better than him and you might miss out on them and fall short in the overall rank.

Saïd Benrahma – Sell
Benrahma blanked in his last three gameweeks which makes his owners rethink of having them in their team. Having two attacking assets from West Ham is not a wise deal at the moment, in our opinion, stick to Antonio, who also blanked his previous two gameweeks but he is the real threat going forward for the Hammers.
Coming back to Benrahma, his numbers have fallen drastically, Raphinha is a great option to replace him in this gameweek.
Benrahma has his position stolen by Fornals or sometimes Bowen who often comes centrally and the link-up with Antonio is completely wasted since the last three gameweeks.
