Gaffr Championship Fantasy | Insight and Analysis of The New Price Reveals

I will be taking a look at the players who have been given an early price reveal on Gaffr championship fantasy and analyzing them through stats. In addition, I will be giving my opinion on whether I think they have the potential to be a viable asset at their given prices.

Insight and Analysis of The New Gaffr Fantasy Price Reveals

Ben Brereton

First up we have the Blackburn forward Ben Brereton who has been priced at 8m. As a result, this gives him a huge price increase as he finished the season priced at just 4.6m! Brereton registered 146 points overall last season (13th highest scoring forward) The Rovers striker returned 7 goals and 5 assists in 40 league appearances last season. Blackburn have a tricky start on paper as they face Swansea and West Brom in their opening four games.

For me I think Brereton is a wait and see purely because Blackburn have a tough start to the season and in my opinion there will be better assets to start off with in the forwards category. However, I can see why he is priced at 8m as there are fears that main man Adam Armstrong may leave this summer, this would therefore make Brereton the main man for Blackburn and could see him excel and become a great option!

Charlie Austin

Next up we have the QPR veteran who has been priced at 9m giving him a 1.5m price increase from the end of last season. Austin returned 89 points in total last season however he did join halfway through the campaign as he made just 21 appearances in the league for QPR. In this short period he managed 7 goals and 1 assist which is a decent return in my opinion. The opening fixtures look fairly appealing as QPR face Millwall, Hull and Middlesbrough in their opening three, therefore I expect Austin to score a couple of goals early on.

Overall, I think Austin could be a viable asset at this price if he manages to stay injury free and if QPR can continue their end of season form from last season. However, I think Dykes will be the main man at QPR and this could hinder Austin’s attacking returns and game time potentially.

Grady Diangana

The baggies winger has been priced at 9m which means the talented winger looks set to be a more premium option in the midfield. Diangana did struggle last year in the Premier League as he was only able to register 1 goal in 20 appearances for relegated West Brom. Although he did have a great season in the championship during the 19/20 season and helped West Brom gain promotion. He played 30 games that season and registered 8 goals and 6 assists which is a very decent return! The baggies face Sheffield United and Bournemouth in their opening three games which could prove to be tricky.

Overall, I think Diangana is a wait and see at this price as he is priced fairly highly and will be playing under a new manager therefore West Brom could take a few weeks to find their feet. However, Diangana does have the potential to be the real deal in this league if he can find some consistency.

Michael Olise

The extremely talented Reading midfielder has been priced at 8.5m giving him a well deserved and expected price increase as he finished the season priced at 4.9m last season. Olise registered an outstanding 209 points last season making him the 5th highest scoring midfielder last season. He returned 7 goals and 12 assists in 44 league appearances last season which is a great return for such a young player. I expect him to deliver Similar numbers this season too! Reading have some great opening fixtures with games against Stoke, Preston, Bristol City and Coventry in their first 4.

To conclude, I think Olise has been well priced and is a good option at this price. This is because he is on set pieces and penalties and returned very good numbers last season. I expect him to kick on and do even better this season! He is an appealing option from the start due to Reading’s opening fixtures.

Kieffer Moore

Next up we have Kieffer Moore who has been priced at 10m for the upcoming season. He finished last season priced at 8.3m which gives him a 1.7m increase in price. I fully expected him to be priced around this price as he had a brilliant season for Cardiff last season. The bluebirds talisman delivered a massive 233 points last season making him the 6th highest scoring forward in the game. Moore registered 20 goals and 2 assists last season which was a great return. Impressively, he was the 4th highest top scorer in the league. He has some great fixtures to begin with as he faces Blackpool and Peterborough in his first three games. I fully expect Moore to start the season strongly.

In my opinion I think Moore has been priced very fairly due to his great season last season and I see him being a very good and popular asset early on. I see him as a great captaincy option in the first few weeks too. Moore should be a very good asset at this price throughout the whole season and I expect him to have  another great season returning plenty of goals.

Dominic Solanke

To conclude the options we have the cherries forward Solanke who has been priced at 11m and is therefore a very premium option in attack and rightly so. Solanke finished last season at 9.1m giving him a 1.9m price increase and this is what I expected. Solanke delivered a very impressive 245 points last season. He returned 15 goals and 11 assists in 40 appearances, this shows he can return assists as well as goals which is very appealing. This made Solanke the 5th highest scoring forward last season. Bournemouth have some decent opening fixtures as they face Nottingham Forest, Birmingham and Blackpool in their opening four fixtures!

Overall, I think Solanke has the potential to be worth the money as I expect Bournemouth to score plenty of goals this season and to be fighting for promotion. I see him being a good captaincy option in the opening weeks for sure. Solanke returned great numbers last season and I fully expect to see more of the same from him this season. As a result, I see Solanke being a very good option and a potential season keeper!

Summary of the Gaffr Championship fantasy price reveals

To conclude, the prices are pretty much what I expected although I feel like initially Brereton and Diangana are priced too highly. On the other hand, Olise and Moore look like great options at their price. In my opinion, Gaffr have been very smart with the prices as it is clear that there will be more premium options this season. As a result, this makes the game harder and a lot more interesting as there are more options to choose from which makes it tougher for a template to form early on.
