  • Noni Madueke suffered a knee injury in last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Man City and was subbed off at half-time for Bukayo Saka. Madueke is expected to be out for 6-8 weeks. Saka, who recently returned to fitness, should make his return to the starting XI as well.
  • Arteta on if Madueke has had a scan: “No, not yet.”
  • Arteta on Saka: “Yeah, nothing to report there. I think he’s played the games that we anticipated, he did well, he feels good, and he will be training the next few days.”
  • Odegaard, who has struggled to remain fit with a shoulder injury, could be available for selection against Newcastle, according to Arteta. However, a start seems unlikely.
  • Arteta on Odegaard: “Martin will be training with us the next two days, so hopefully he’ll be available for the game.”
  • Havertz remains out of action with a knee injury. Arteta provided the following update on the German’s fitness after Arsenal’s midweek EFL Cup win over Port Vale.
  • Arteta on Havertz (via GOAL): “With Kai, we know that it will be months with him. I don’t know if it can be weeks, you never know, because this is Kai and he’s a different specimen. We really miss him. Hopefully, he will be back, and back for the long term as well, so it is very important to look after that knee. So far, he’s progressing pretty well.”

Chelsea

Chelsea GW6 Predicted formation:

  • 4-2-3-1

Chelsea GW6 Predicted lineup:

Robert Sanchez

James – Hato – Chalobah – Cucurella

Caicedo – Andrey Santos

Estevao – Enzo Fernandez – Neto

J. Pedro

Chelsea Team News and Notes:

  • After picking up a red card against Man United last weekend and serving his one-match ban against Lincoln City midweek, Robert Sanchez will return to the starting XI this weekend.
  • Palmer was expected to be out for a long time after his groin injury resurfaced and he was forced off in Chelsea’s defeat against Man United last weekend. Maresca has now given a potential return timeline for his star attacker.
  • Andrey Santos should start in the middle of the park, with Enzo Fernandez taking on a more offensive role in Palmer’s absence.
  • Maresca on Palmer: “We have decided to protect Cole a little bit, in terms of his injury not getting worse. So we decided to rest him for the next two or three weeks, probably until after the international break, to see whether, with rest, he can recover 100 per cent and be completely fit.”
“It’s a matter of managing the pain in his groin. With the amount of games [we have played], it’s something that can happen, so that is the reason why we are trying to be conservative with him to give him rest. Hopefully, he can be 100 per cent fit after the international break.”
  • To add to their problems, Maresca has revealed that Tosin is out, along with Palmer, until after the international break with a calf injury.
  • Maresca on Tosin: “We have Tosin injured. He will probably be out until the international break as he has a small problem with his calf.”
  • Meanwhile, Fofana will miss this weekend’s fixture against Brighton after suffering a concussion against Lincoln in their midweek Cup clash.
  • Maresca on Fofana: “Wes Fofana suffered a concussion the other day against Lincoln [and will miss the Brighton game].”
  • With Colwill out due to his ACL injury, summer signing Jorrel Hato is expected to start.

Mateta

Crystal Palace Notes/Injury Updates:

  • Crystal Palace have been handed a double injury boost ahead of a big match against Liverpool this weekend. Ismaila Sarr, who has missed their last 3 fixtures through a hamstring injury, has returned to fitness. Pino was subbed off last weekend against West Ham after the first half but is now available for GW6.
  • Glasner on Sarr: “He had the full training week, the same as Adam [Wharton] and Eddie [Nketiah]. We always nominate the squad when we think everybody is ready to start. I don’t know if he can play 90 or 100 minutes – I don’t know how intense the game will be – but he’s ready.”
  • Glasner on Pino: “[Yeremy Pino] just had to rest on Tuesday. He had a bone bruise – he took a knock, knee on knee, which was very painful – but since Wednesday, he’s been training and did the rest of the week. He feels fine, so he’s also available.”
“So many players are available, more or less all players.”
  • Caleb Kporha, Chadi Riad, and Cheick Doucouré are ruled out – Glasner said, “It’s just Caleb Kporha who can’t train at the moment, and of course Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucouré.”
  • Glasner on Chadi: “Chadi looks like he will return around the next international break, so it’s good.”

Longstaff – Ampadu- Stach

Aaronson – Calvert Lewin- Okafor

Leeds team news:

  • Perri has not yet returned to training and remains injured for GW6 as Darlow continues on in goal.
  • Farke on Perri (via BBC Sport): “We hope that he [Perri] can join us next week, but at the moment it is realistic to say he is not in contention [to play] before the international break.”
  • Jayden Bogle has recovered from the knock he suffered last week in Leeds’ 3-1 win over Wolves. He is expected to start against Bournemouth this weekend.
  • Daniel James is available this gameweek, having returned to training yesterday. Farke stated that James is “making progress” and “has a chance” to be involved on Saturday.
  • Gnoto is out as well due to a calf injury. Farke, however, is hopeful that the Italian will return to team training next week.

Liverpool

Liverpool GW6 Predicted Formation:

4-2-3-1

Liverpool GW6 Predicted lineup:

Alisson

Bradley – Konate – Van Dijk – Kerkez

Szoboszlai – Gravenberch

Salah – Wirtz – Gakpo

Isak

Liverpool Team News and Key Notes:

  • Ekitike will miss the Palace game through suspension after he received a second yellow card for taking off his shirt against Southampton in their midweek EFL Cup clash. Isak is expected to start in his place.
  • Slot on Isak: “He’s able to make minutes again. I still feel 90 – [it] depends also on the pace and the intensity of the game – might be a bit too much. But not only that, also for the long term. So you can maybe give one, I would call, stupid hit to bring him to 90 and then you brought him too far over the line. So, I don’t think it’s smart to play him 90 yet.”
“But he’s further into his pre-season now and normally after two or three weeks in pre-season players go to 60, 70 minutes, and in some clubs they even bring them to 90. But if you look at our pre-season, we mainly bring them to 60 to 70 minutes then.”
  • Giovanni Leoni was forced off due to injury against Southampton and is set for a long spell on the sidelines.
  • Slot on Giovanni: “He is not in a good place, of course, because he tore his ACL and it means he will be out for a year.”
  • Wirtz is expected to return to the starting XI after being rested for Liverpool’s last 2 fixtures.
  • Wirtz on his conversations with Arne Slot (via This is Anfield): “I recently talked to the coach about it, and he suggested why I might not be able to get into the situations I normally get into. That is, that I’m making the game fast with a dribble or a pass. He said it could be because we press a lot and I run a lot.”
“After the [Atletico Madrid] game, he told me I wouldn’t start [against Everton] because he wanted to control the load a bit and see which game I could play better in. He decided on the Champions League game, that I would start there and then sit on the bench in the league. I fully understood that. I was able to recover a bit and didn’t have to exert myself as much.”
  • Mac Allister will be available, having missed the game against the Saints due to the birth of his child. Slot could choose between Szoboszlai and Mac Allister to start in the double pivot, so it’s a 50/50 chance between the pair.
  • Frimpong played the full 90 against Southampton and should be rested, with Conor Bradley starting in his place.

  • Guardiola has revealed that Mateo Kovacic, who has been sidelined since the end of last season, could be available this weekend.
  • Guardiola on Kovacic: “Kova maybe [available]. It would help a lot to have Kova back. It’s a long injury, surgery, but he is getting ready. He is not fully ready but step-by-step.”

Sesko

Man United Notes/Injury Update:

  • Diogo Dalot is back after the injury he picked up on international duty and is expected to start the fixture, with Amad Diallo and Mazraoui out for this gameweek.
  • Amorim said on the trio: “Diogo is returning to the team and he is ready.”
“Amad is not here. Someone in his family passed away, so we are giving all the support to Amad. We understand the importance for him, at this time, to return home [here].”
“Nous is not going to be [available] until we stop for the international teams. He is out also.”

  • Maguire is highly likely to start ahead of Leny Yoro after his strong display against Chelsea last weekend.
  • Cunha and Mount could be interchanged, so it’s a 50/50.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United GW6 Predicted formation:

  • 4-3-3

Newcastle United Predicted lineup:

Pope

Livramento – Thiaw – Burn – Hall

B.Guimaraes – Tonali – Joelinton

Jacob Murphy – Woltemade- Gordon

Newcastle United Injury News/Notes:

  • Anthony Gordon will return to the fold this gameweek, having served the last of his three-match suspension last weekend.
  • Jacob Murphy missed Newcastle’s midweek clash as he nurses an Achilles tendon issue. However, he is available and expected to start in a big game against Arsenal.
  • Howe on Jacob Murphy: “Jacob is doing okay – it is an issue we are managing. He is fit and available, but some days he has been sore, so we are just trying to manage his load.”
  • Schar, Wissa, and Jacob Ramsey are out.
  • Howe on Jacob Ramsey: “His recovery is going well. He is on the grass working hard and building his fitness back up. I think it will be after the international break that we see him. Anything before that, then he will be ahead of schedule.”
  • Guimaraes was rested for last weekend’s Bournemouth clash after their Champions League fixture against Barcelona a few days prior. He will return to the starting lineup against the Gunners this weekend.

Nottingham Forest GW6 Predicted lineup:

Sels

Williams – Milenkovic – Morato – Zinchenko

Sangare – Anderson

Ndoye – Gibbs White – Hudson Odoi

Wood

Forest team news:

  • Douglas Luiz is out with a hamstring injury he picked up against Real Betis in the Europa League this week.
  • Ange on Douglas Luiz: “Douglas Luiz wasn’t great yesterday so we have sent him for a scan on his hamstring. He won’t be available this weekend. With him, I think we have got to be really careful with how we use him in the early part of the year. He had a lot of issues last year at Juventus and came in late here.”
“We’ll just be cautious with him. We’ll see what the scan says but he definitely won’t be available this week. It’s nothing serious, we know that; it’s nothing significant. But with the international window around the corner, there might be an opportunity for us to really build him up because he’s such a good player and we saw that the other night.”
  • While he is individually training, Murillo is still recovering from injury and has been ruled out this week, having missed their last 3 games.
  • Ange on Murillo (via BBC Sport): “Murillo is still not where we want him to be. He’s still not totally comfortable. He is still doing individual training. We were hoping he would progress a bit quicker, but it was a pretty severe knock on his thigh. My understanding is the healing process has just been slower than what we thought and he doesn’t feel comfortable. We’ve just got to be patient with him. He is out on the grass and working individually. It is just a matter of incorporating him back into the team.”
  • Ola Aina and Nicolas Dominguez are out for a while with long-term injuries.

Sunderland GW6 Predicted lineup:

Roefs

Hume – Alderete – Mukiele – Masuaku

Rigg – Xhaka – Sadiki

Talbi – Mayenda – Adingra

Sunderland team news:

  • Farke on Diarra: “Injuries are part of the journey, and it gives opportunities to other players to show their quality. They have worked hard so far, so they deserve this opportunity. I am not worried about the situation, although it is a shame for Habib because he is very important for us.”

  • Solanke and Kolo Muani are out.
  • Frank on Kolo Muani: “Kolo Muani’s dead leg is dragging on, he’ll be a few more days and he’s not available.””[He suffered his dead leg] in training. I think it was Pape that ran into him. I need to blame Pape! It was very unfortunate, it’s just a contact injury. It is one of those where sometimes they can take a week or other times they can take a couple of weeks because it’s started to bleed again, unfortunately.”
  • Frank on Solanke: “Dominic is also not available.” “His ankle injury has been a little tricky, it’s nothing big, we’re relatively positive he will be back quickly. It’s not perfect, but we’re going forward in the right direction.”

L.Krejci – Agbadou- Toti

Jackson Tchatchoua – AndreJoao Gomes – Bueno

Arias – Bellegarde

Hee Chan

Wolves Team News and Notes:

  • Vitor Pereira confirmed that there are no new injuries for Wolves this weekend. However, the Portuguese boss admitted that it was a new ‘headache’ to have his entire squad available, so expect some movements in the starting Xi, especially give his incosistent lineups and formations this term.
  • Pereira said: “This is good, but it is a headache for me because to make the list for this game, everything in this moment is something that demands from me, decisions. With players who deserve to be in the first 11, and this is what it is, because we don’t have injuries. But this is important, and I prefer this kind of headache because now we have a full squad ready to help.”
  • Larsen could be a doubt for the starting XI since he recently made his return from an Achilles tendon injury and he started the midweek EFL Cup clash against Everton.
  • Pereira on Larsen: “We are trying to go step by step with [Strand Larsen]. Tomorrow, we’ll see his condition. He is not 100% in conditions for 90 minutes, but we must manage the time that he can play.”
  • Pereira on Arokodare: “He scored a beautiful goal and showed quality in the finishing and Tolu is getting his condition, his physical condition, because when he arrived, it was like we pushed him to play 90 minutes, or almost 90 minutes the first game.”
