FPL Gameweek 24 arrives with plenty of talking points, headlined by yet another explosive Bournemouth performance. After Kluivert’s heroics in GW22, it was Ouattara’s turn to steal the show, racking up over 20 points—making him the second Bournemouth player in as many weeks to breach that barrier. Meanwhile, Spurs’ struggles deepened as they slumped to a seventh straight winless game, suffering an embarrassing home defeat to relegation-threatened Leicester. With their early-season momentum fading fast, managers relying on Spurs assets may need to rethink their strategies.
Adding to the excitement, this is the first Double Gameweek of the season, with Liverpool and Everton playing twice. The league leaders, Liverpool, have lost just once all season, making their assets highly sought after. Everton, meanwhile, offer a wildcard option, with the assistant manager chip now available—just in time to capitalize on Moyes’ audition-worthy 19-point haul in GW23. With key decisions on transfers, captaincy, and chip strategies, FPL managers have plenty to ponder this week.
So, let’s start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for this GW, sponsored by …. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want 😊

FPL GW24 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY
PS – I am not mentioning Salah, as he is non-negotiable at this point. I assume he is already in your team.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.3m) – DEF, Liverpool – 32.7% TSB
Trent Alexander-Arnold headlines Gameweek 24 as one of the most explosive defensive options, offering the perfect blend of attacking threat and clean sheet potential. With Liverpool set for a double gameweek against Bournemouth and Everton, the stars align for a massive haul—especially considering he delivered a double-digit return in the reverse fixture against Bournemouth back in GW5.
No defender comes close to matching Trent’s attacking influence. He tops the charts for expected goal involvement (xGI), key passes, big chances created, expected assists (xA), expected points (xPts), and baseline bonus points system (BPS). He also sits second for total FPL points and assists, cementing his reputation as a complete package. With Liverpool’s solidity at the back and firepower up front, Trent looks primed to deliver at both ends of the pitch, making him a standout pick for the week.

Cody Gakpo (£7.6m) – FWD, Liverpool – 18.6 % TSB
In the last 8 GWs, amongst FWDs, Gakpo is ranked:
- 1st for Key Passes
- 1st for xA
- 1st for Assists
- 2nd for FPL points
- 2nd for BPS
- 2nd for Goals Scored
- 2nd for Goal Involvements
- 2nd for Big Chances Created
- 3rd for xGI
- 3rd for xPts
- 3rd for Bonus Points
- 3rd for Shots on Target
Cody Gakpo’s prospects shine bright, extending far beyond the current gameweek.
As Liverpool’s momentum builds and their schedule unfolds, Gakpo is poised to become a vital cog in your fantasy lineup. Consider prioritizing him as your second – or even top – Liverpool pick to catapult your mini-league rankings. Did someone say differential TC Gakpo?

Cole Palmer (£11.3m) – MID, Chelsea – 65.0% TSB
Hold up, FPL fam! Don’t be too quick to ditch Cole Palmer just ’cause he didn’t deliver against Wolves and Man City. The stats are still stacked in his favor.
Among midfielders, Palmer is ranked:
- 2nd for Shots on Target
- 2nd for Big Chances
- 2nd for xG
- 2nd for Goals Scored
- 2nd for xGI
- 2nd for Goal Involvements
- 2nd for BPS
- 2nd for Bonus Points
- 2nd for xPts
- 2nd for FPL Points
- 1st for Key Passes
- 1st for Big Chances Created
- 1st for xA
And those upcoming fixtures? Cake. Let’s not forget, Palmer brought the heat in the reverse fixtures, racking up a whopping 56 points! That’s not a fluke, folks.
This midfielder’s got the skills and the schedule to keep on shining. Palmer’s still a solid pick and worth holding onto.

Yoane Wissa (£6.3m) – FWD, Brentford – 10.5%
Over 91,000 FPL managers have already decided to cut ties with Wissa ahead of Brentford’s visit to Spurs. Perhaps his two blanks in the last three matches have tested their patience. But does he really deserve the axe? His upcoming fixtures tell a different story.
First up, he faces a Spurs side in complete disarray—just two clean sheets in their last 17 matches and winless in their last seven Premier League games. Up next are West Ham and Leicester, both among the worst five teams for expected clean sheets (xCS), expected goals conceded (xGC), actual goals conceded, and goal difference.
Curiously, Mbeumo—Wissa’s Brentford teammate—is the second-most transferred-in midfielder this week. If one Bees attacker is in high demand, why are so many managers offloading the other?
Before making a hasty transfer, ask yourself this: why swap out the lethal attacker when the opposition’s defense is already falling apart? Keep faith in Wissa—he might just deliver a feast over the next three Gameweeks.

FPL Gameweek 24 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL
Chris Wood (£7.1m) – FWD, Nott’m Forest – 42.1% TSB
As I emphasized earlier, alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold, Cody Gakpo tops the priority list for this week’s transfers. With Gvardiol making way for TAA, the pressing question is: who should you sacrifice to accommodate Gakpo?
The mighty have indeed fallen. Once the most sought-after player and highest-scoring forward across multiple gameweeks, Chris Wood now bears the unfortunate distinction of being the most transferred-out player this week. However, there’s a compelling rationale behind this trend.
Wood’s upcoming fixtures till GW28 are decidedly underwhelming.
Notably, he managed a solitary goal in the reverse fixtures against these opponents.
Given the emergence of Isak and Gakpo as the preferred forward duo, Wood finds himself narrowly eclipsed by Wissa in the medium-term pecking order. Nevertheless, it’s essential to emphasize that Wood is more of a ‘soft sell’ rather than an urgent ‘must-sell’, considering his recent form still warrants consideration.

Joško Gvardiol (£5.9m) – DEF, Man City – 19.0% TSB
Since Gameweek 11, at least 25 defenders have outscored Gvardiol in FPL. His dip in returns coincided with Manchester City’s rough patch, where they managed just one win in nine matches. While both City’s form and Gvardiol’s FPL output have shown some improvement lately, the road ahead doesn’t look promising for the Croatian defender.
City’s upcoming fixture list is nothing short of brutal. They face a series of high-scoring opponents, significantly reducing their clean sheet potential. Their defensive struggles have been evident against attacking sides, and with matches against free-scoring teams on the horizon, it’s difficult to justify holding onto a City defender.
Given the circumstances, offloading Gvardiol this week makes sense—especially with a prime opportunity to bring in Alexander-Arnold, who not only offers attacking upside but also has a Double Gameweek.
