FPL GW28 Transfer Targets & Watchlist Based on Eye Test & Stats

Welcome to FPL PAZ’s(Twitter, Do follow him) Transfer Targets and Watchlist, where I highlight the THREE best transfer targets in each position for FPL GW28 and beyond. The goal is to give managers a watchlist for both the immediate Gameweek and future Gameweeks. All picks are analyzed with stats, fixtures, and current form. LET’S GET INTO IT:

FPL GW28 Transfer Targets

Illia Zabarnyi BOU £4.4

Projected Points GW28-33: 19.9

A player on the watchlist last gameweek alongside his teammate Senesi, the difference could not have been any worse. Senesi came off injured with a hamstring injury and will most likely miss DGW28, while Zabarnyi locked in a clean sheet.

Moving forward, Zabarnyi remains a good buy this GW, especially if you are free-hitting in GW29, as Bournemouth has two great home games against Luton and Sheffield United. Zabarnyi does not have much of a goal threat, with a 0.04 xGI per 90 minutes. However, he does have the minutes security, which makes him a great buy.

Bournemouth Defense- Home vs Away(Per 90 stats):

xGC- 1.38 vs 1.81
Big Chances Conceded- 2.08 vs 2.64
Goals Conceded- 1.50 vs 2.07

As seen above Bournemouth are better defensively at Home and have 4 Home games on the run including two DGW28 fixtures. Lastly, Zabarnyi has the easiest fixtures for defenders over the next 6 GWs, making him a great defender to rotate in a season where defenders have not really done much.

Note: If you are not free hitting in GW29, then I do prefer Doughty £4.6 as he gives you an extra fixture in GW29.

Marcus Tavernier BOU £5.4

Projected Points GW28-33: 24.0

Many managers will be looking at bringing in DGW players this GW. Those who are looking for a DGW punt should look at Tavernier as their midfield punt, especially if they choose to use their free hit in GW29. Tavernier is not the most exciting pick, but he has two home games against Luton and Sheffield United.

Tavernier is also a decent medium-term budget enable as Bournemouth has the easiest fixtures up to GW33. His underlying stats are not the best, with a 0.36 xGI per 90 minutes, but in FPL, you need to put yourself in a position to be lucky, and in a DGW, anything can happen. With amazing fixtures, on some set pieces, and with decent underlying stats, Tavernier is a player on my watchlist going into GW28.

Note: Managers looking to not FH in GW29 should look at Ross Barkley £5.0 as he gives managers a double GW and a fixture in GW29.

Dominic Solanke BOU £7.1

Projected Points GW28-33: 31.8

Solanke has been relatively quiet in recent GWs with back-to-back blanks. The Bournemouth striker does seem hampered by the knee injury suffered against Spurs in GW20. Solanke remains a great buy and the best captaincy option this GW, which makes him a must-transfer.

Solanke is also great tiple-captain material as he has two easy fixtures against Luton and Sheffield, and there are few open DGWs left. Moreover, Solanke has great underlying stats with a 0.64 xGI per 90 minutes, giving him a high upside in this DGW. With great fixtures (easiest over the next 6 GWs), great underlying stats, and being the best captaincy option, Solanke should be on everyone’s team going into GW28.

Key Stats- Solanke:

Solanke is Top for xG(10.72) and Shots inside the Box(46) in the league since GW12. He is also ranked 2nd for Big Chances (16) and Goals scored(10) during this time.
Only Haaland(18), Watkins(16), and Salah(15) have scored more goals than Solanke in the Premier League this season.
