FPL GW18 Transfer Targets & Watchlist Based on Eye Test & Stats

Welcome to FPL PAZ’s(Twitter, Do follow him) Transfer Targets and Watchlist, where I highlight the THREE best transfer targets in each position for FPL GW18 and beyond. The goal is to give managers a watchlist for both the immediate Gameweek and future Gameweeks. All picks are analyzed with stats, fixtures, and current form. LET’S GET INTO IT:

FPL GW18 Transfer Targets

Kieran Trippier NEW £6.9

Projected Points GW18-24: 31.5

After receiving a well-deserved rest in GW17 due to his suspension, Trippier is back as one of the best defensive options this GW and moving forward. Trippier is a great asset, as we are struggling to find consistent defenders. Trippier’s underlying stats and explosiveness are what make him such a great option, as he can explode at any moment with his 0.36 xGI per 90 minutes.

Trippier has decent upcoming fixtures with the 9^th easiest schedule over the next six GWs. However, with Trippier’s offensive prowess, you would not put it past him to return in even tough fixtures. With many managers having money due to selling Haaland, I would not mind moving to Trippier in GW18.

Matchup: Luton Town are 5th for most chances conceded(61) and crosses conceded in the right flank(170) in the League

Trippier set play stats amongst defenders:

Crosses – 127 (1st amongst defenders)
Successful crosses – 41 (1st amongst defenders)
Successful cross percentage – 32% (1st amongst defenders)
Corners taken – 65 (1st amongst defenders)
Set piece into box – 74 (1st amongst defenders)
Freekicks taken – 24 (1st amongst defenders)

Excellent matchup: Luton are 2nd in the league for set play xGC(7.0) and 3rd for goal attempts from set play conceded(78). The Hatters have also conceded more crosses in their right flank(170) than their left flank(159)

Richarlison TOT £6.7

Projected Points GW18-24: 27.4

With a massive goal in GW17, the Richarlison bandwagon started picking up steam. Richarlison has always been an inconsistent option, as he does tend to underperform. However, this time around, he looks to have gained his confidence again, and with Son leaving for the Asia Cup soon, having the starting striker for such an attacking side like Spurs for just £6.7 will be massive.

Spurs also have great fixtures, with the 6^th easiest fixtures over the next six GWs, giving Richalison an even higher ceiling. Lastly, once Son is gone, Richarlison will also have a chance to be on penalties for Spurs, which is a bonus. Good fixtures and decent underlying stats, Richarlison is a player firmly on my watchlist.

Ollie Watkins AVL £8.6

FPL GW18 Transfer Targets ~ Watkins — **Watkins became the 2nd forward and 4th amongst all players(Haaland, Salah, Son) to cross 100 points**

Projected Points GW18-24: 37.1

With a goal and all 3 bonus, Watkins has kept rewarding managers and punishing those who sold him for Darwin Nunez. I know Watkins is highly owned, but there are still managers who do not have him. I would only be looking at two forwards this GW, which are Solanke and Watkins. Given Watkins is the best captaincy option this GW, I would do even take a hit to bring him in this GW. Watkins also has great upcoming fixtures, with the 5^th easiest fixtures for attackers over the next six GWs.

Watkins has the explosiveness that you do not want to miss out on, as shown by his double-digit hauls this season and his underlying stats of 0.64 xGI per 90 minutes. With great fixtures, one of the best captaincy options this GW, and playing for one of the best attacks in the league, Watkins should be the first forward on your watchlist this GW.
