Welcome back to the Players to Buy, hold or sell series ahead of FPL Gameweek 35. Gameweek 34 was a good week for our picks as it saw 5/6 correct predictions, with only Kulusevski blanking, and Marcos Alonso getting a goal and an assist over the two games. Even Saka had a great week against Manchester United, getting 13 points against the Reds. With that, let’s move on to this week’s picks.

Players to Buy ahead of Gameweek 35
Andrew Robertson (7.3m)
The first player in this week’s players to buy list is Andy Robertson. He has been in a surreal form since around GW26, and has been a great differential especialy for those who got him in early. Even after scoring 64 points over the period of last 8 gameweeks, he is still owned by just 11% of the managers.
GW27-30 | GW31-34 | |
Total Minutes | 270 | 360 |
xG/90 | 0.02 | 0.12 |
xA/90 | 0.21 | 0.06 |
Big Chances / 90 | 0.00 | 0.25 |
Total Shots in Box / Total Shots | 1 / 2 | 1 / 3 |
His underlying numbers improved drastically post GW26. Even in the short period of GW31-34, his xG/90 saw an increase to 0.12 from 0.02 (between GW27-30), along with a rise in big chances/90. However, his xA/90 witnessed a fall from 0.21 to 0.06. Liverpool even have a double gameweek in GW36 against Spurs and Villa without blanking in Gameweek 37. Therefore, they have one extra game to play as compared to some other teams. Looking at Liverpool’s fixtures to end the season with, coupled with the form Robertson is in, I would highly suggest getting him in for this final run.

Philippe Coutinho (7.0m)
The next player to make it to the players to buy ahead of GW35 is Aston Villa’s Coutinho. He is an unpopular player to buy right now considering his current form. However, they have arguably one of the best fixtures in these last couple of weeks. A few weeks earlier, he was mentioned in the players to sell bracket, with the aim of buying him back for this run. They face Norwich this week, after which they have a double against Burnley and Liverpool. After this, in GW37, they double against Palace and Burnley.
Lets’ take a look at how his stats have changed over the period:
GW27-30 | GW31-34 | |
Total Minutes | 424 | 223 |
xG/90 | 0.37 | 0.14 |
xA/90 | 0.28 | 0.26 |
Big Chances / 90 | 0.42 | 0.00 |
Total Shots in Box / Total Shots | 7 / 13 | 1 / 6 |
Coutinho’s underlying numbers have definitely taken a turn for the worse, along with his form. However, he still has decent numbers to justify buying him ahead of this very lucrative run. With playing almost half the minutes between GW31-34, his xG/90 fell to 0.14, while xA/90 fell by just 0.02. The number of shots from inside the box also saw a decline over the period. Therfore, he is a good bet considering all the factors mentioned.

Players to Hold ahead of Gameweek 35
Son (11.0m) / Kane (12.5m)
The Spurs duo makes it to the Players to Hold list ahead of Gameweek 35. Many managers are looking to replace them with other players. However, I would suggest holding him for now, as they face Leicester next week, against whom they have an incredible record. After that, they have a difficult double against Liverpool and Arsenal in GW36, after which they again have great fixtures, against Burnley and Norwich against GW37 and GW38 respectively.
Son | Kane | |
Total Minutes | 345 | 360 |
xG/90 | 0.46 | 0.07 |
xA/90 | 0.24 | 0.52 |
Big Chances / 90 | 0.78 | 0.00 |
Total Shots in Box / Total Shots | 8 / 9 | 7 / 12 |
Their underlying numbers of both Son and Kane, between GW31-34 have been great. Son’s stats are a bit inflated due to the goal spree he went on, two weeks back. Their fixture against Leicester also increases their chances of getting points. Leicester have a very tight schedule. They payed on 28th April, and then face Spurs just after 3 days, and 2nd leg against Roma five days after they play Spurs. As Leicester might try to prioriize their European possibilities, the fixture against Spurs might see a heavy rotation with most of the players getting rested. Moreover, Kane has a total of 16 goals from 13 games in PL, against Leicester. Son also has a decent record, scoring 4 goals in 11 PL games. Spurs duo have a very high chance of going big this week therefore, I would suggest holding them ahead of Gameweek 35.

Emmanuel Dennis (5.8m)
The next player to make it to the players to hold list is Emmanuel Dennis. There has been a slight increase in his form recently. With decent fixtures up ahead, there’s possibility of him getting a few returns for his owners. Watford face Burnley in GW35, Crystal Palace and Everton in their double GW36, and Leicester after that.
GW27-30 | GW31-34 | |
Total Minutes | 357 | 243 |
xG/90 | 0.2 | 0.18 |
xA/90 | 0.08 | 0.24 |
Big Chances / 90 | 0.25 | 0.00 |
Total Shots in Box / Total Shots | 5 / 7 | 2 / 4 |
His underlying numbers have slighlty fallen, except the xA/90 which had risen to 0.24 from 0.08. There was only a marginal fall in his xG/90 from 0.2 to 0.18. He has scored 10 goals this season, which shows that he does have the quality to get goals in an easy fixture. Therefore, if you already have Dennis in your team, I would suggest holding him for a couple more weeks.

Players to Sell ahead of Gameweek 35
Bruno Fernandes (11.6m)
The first player in this week’s players to sell list is Bruno Fernandes. He was in the players to sell list, last week as well (he missed a penalty and scored just 1 point in the double GW34). Manchester United are not in a good state right now, with the manager changing, and everyone other than Ronaldo, in an abominable form. They also have one less fixture to play this season, as they only have 3 games in 4 weeks. They don’t have a fixture in Gameweek 37, and no other doubles before that.
GW27-30 | GW31-34 | |
Total Minutes | 180 | 534 |
xG/90 | 0.5 | 0.23 |
xA/90 | 0.34 | 0.17 |
Big Chances / 90 | 1.00 | 0.17 |
Total Shots in Box / Total Shots | 4 / 9 | 5 / 13 |
Even his underlying numbers took a turn for the worse. All the parameters mentioned above saw a majore decline from GW27-30 to GW31-34. His xG/90 dropped from 0.5 to 0.23, while Big chances per 90 fell from 1.00 to 0.17. Even his xA/90 fell by 0.17. Taking all these factors into consideration, I would highly suggest selling him this week, as he is not worth the 11m price tag currently.

Alexandre Lacazette (8.2m)
The next player in the players to sell list ahead of gameweek 35 is Arsenal’s number nine, Alexandre Lacazatte. He was in a really good form till a while back. However, his form saw a dip, and then he was also benched for Nketiah. Irresepective of the fact the Arsenal have decent fixtures, he doesn’t look like he is going to start all the games.
GW27-30 | GW31-34 | |
Total Minutes | 326 | 181 |
xG/90 | 0.29 | 0.02 |
xA/90 | 0.21 | 0.04 |
Big Chances / 90 | 0.28 | 0.00 |
Total Shots in Box / Total Shots | 6 / 9 | 2 / 3 |
Even his underlying numbers witnessed a massive fall from GW27-30 period to GW31-34. His xG/90 saw a 93% fall from 0.29 to 0.02, and xA/90 declined from 0.21 to 0.04. Although he had lesser minutes in the GW31-34 period, the decline indicates the fall in his form. Therfore, I would suggest selling him this week.
Apart from the mentioned players, Gabriel Jesus could also be the one to buy ahead of gameweek 35. Not only he scored 4 goals last week, but also had a jaw dropping performance mid week in the CL against Madird. However, there’s always the ‘Pep-Roulette’ factor associated with him.
