FPL GW24 Transfer Trends ~ Most transferred in and transferred out players

Watford forward Emmanuel Dennis leads the top transfers out list after picking up a red card on the first fixture of Watford’s double gameweek in GW23, upsetting many owners and prompting 223k managers to ship him out.

The Chelsea assets of Mount (186k), Rüdiger (122k), and James (98k) see many managers look elsewhere for assets as they blank in Gameweeks 24, 25, and 27. Finally, Salah makes the 5th spot of the top transfers out, with 96k managers opting for another premium option.

On the flip side, Aston Villa’s Lucas Digne sees 156k managers bring him in after a stellar 12 point haul, scoring an assist and a clean sheet. He is followed by West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, with 150k managers bringing him in ahead of his fixture against Watford.

Coutinho is 3rd on the list of top transfers in, 144k managers bringing him in ahead of Villa’s fixture against Leeds United. 138k managers bring in Palace forward Edouard, after his consistent run of returns. Finally, Salah also makes the 5th spot of the top transfers in list, with 133k managers bringing him in with his anticipated return from AFCON.

The 3 transfer combinations we will be focusing on are: Alonso to Laporte, Mount to Bowen, and Dennis to Edouard.

FPL GW24 Transfer Combination 1:

Marcos Alonso (£5.7) to Aymeric Laporte (£5.8)

FPL GW26 Transfer Trends ~ Alonso to Laporte
Man City’s fixtures from GW24-30

With the multiple blanks coming up, Chelsea assets, including defender Marcos Alonso, are being shipped out. 29% of managers have opted for City defender Aymeric Laporte.

In terms of security of starts, Laporte has started in the last 9 Premier League games for Man City, playing the full 90 for all of them. In that time, he has scored 2 goals, 2 assists, and 5 clean sheets. In fact, out of the last 9 games he’s started, he has returned in 8 of them!

While the majority of managers own Cancelo, owning Laporte would be a decent differential given City’s high odds for a clean sheet, and his occasional knack for an attacking return.

Statistically, in the last 6 games, he registered 6 shots, 5 of them in the box. With many managers potentially looking for a decent defender heading into GW24, Laporte would be a great pick.

In addition to the Brentford game, City then face Norwich away in GW25. Two good fixtures to target.

FPL GW24 Transfer Combination 2:

Mason Mount (£7.6) to Jarrod Bowen (£6.9)

FPL GW26 Transfer Trends ~ Mount to Bowen
West Ham’s fixtures from GW24-30

Chelsea’s Mason Mount is a popular transfer out prior to GW24 as Chelsea see 3 blanks in the span of 4 gameweeks. 26.2% of managers have already made the swap to West Ham attacker Jarrod Bowen.

Bowen has scored 3 goals and 5 assists in the last 6 games – that’s a return in 5 out of 6 games. This includes two double digit hauls against Watford and Norwich. In the reverse fixture against Watford, Bowen scored a hat-trick of assists in West Ham’s 4-1 win.

Statistically (last 6 games), he is the best among budget midfielders (sub 7.5m) for shots in the box (13), big chances (7), big chances created (4), and touches in the box (34). He is also on set-pieces, boosting his xAssists appeal.

Who do West Ham face in GW24?

West Ham play Watford at home in GW24. As mentioned before, the reverse fixture at Vicarage Road saw West Ham win 4-1 over Watford. According to Drafthound, Watford have a low 13% of keeping a clean sheet against West Ham.

Despite finally claiming their first clean sheet of the season against Norwich, in the last 6 games, Watford have conceded 66 shots, 41 of them in the box, and 9 big chances.

Should be a good game for Bowen to run riot against. In their next two games, West Ham also face Leicester and Newcastle, two teams who have also been relatively weak at the back.

FPL GW24 Transfer Combination 3:

Emmanuel Dennis (£6.2) to Odsonne Edouard (£6.5)

FPL GW26 Transfer Trends ~ Dennis to Edouard
Palace’s fixtures from GW24-30

After Dennis’ red card in the first fixture of Watford’s double gameweek, 36.1% disappointed managers have already made the move to bring in Crystal Palace forward Edouard.

In the last 6 games, Edouard has scored 3 goals and 4 assists, returning in 4 out of the 6 games. At £6.5, he is arguably one of the best budget strikers, presenting good value.

He has also registered 17 total shots (2nd best), 16 shots in the box (best), 8 big chances (best), and 31 touches in the box (2nd best) among all budget strikers (in the last 6 games).

With an expected goal involvement of 4.7, he is the best budget enabler to pick. With Palace’s decent run of fixtures too, he could be worth starting as well.

Who do Palace face in GW24?

Palace play Norwich away in GW24. In the last 6 games, Norwich are 3rd worst for total shots conceded (92) and 2nd worst for shots in the box conceded (66). With an expected goals conceded of 1.8, this should fare well for Palace and Edouard.

Palace play Brentford and Burnley over the course of the next 4 gameweeks, which are great fixtures to target too.

Norwich have conceded the 2nd most shots in the box in the last 6 games (66).
