FPL Gameweek 32 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Buy, Hold & Sell

Gameweek 31 reminded us why it’s so important to play your own FPL game instead of blindly following the herd.

The top 13 most expensive players in FPL? All failed to return. ❌

The nine most-selected captains who played? Every single one blanked. ❌

So, what can we take away from this unpredictable week? A timeless lesson from the Bhagavad Gita feels especially relevant here:
“Keep doing your work without getting attached to the outcome. Focus on your actions—not the results. Don’t work just for rewards, and don’t avoid work either.”

As FPL managers, we can do all the planning, pore over stats, and pick the best fixtures—but the final outcome might still not go our way. That doesn’t mean we stop strategizing. It just means we stay grounded, trust our process, and remember: the game is as much about the journey as it is about the points. On that philosophical note, it is time to zoom in to DGW32.

So, let’s start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for this GW, sponsored by …. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want 😊

FPL Gameweek 32 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY

Harvey Barnes (£5.9m) – MID, Newcastle – 1.4% TSB

FPL Gameweek 32 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY- Barnes

Eddie Howe’s Monday post-match presser wasn’t music to the ears of Anthony Gordon owners. In fact, it sounded more like a funeral march.

Howe revealed, “Anthony wasn’t close… he hasn’t trained yet… still feeling the effects of that tackle with England… we hope to see him soon, but no certainty.” Translation: don’t hold your breath.

Of course, Friday’s press conference might throw us a bone—but if Gordon’s out, that opens the door wide for Mr. Differential Extraordinaire himself: Harvey Barnes.

Despite barely clocking 1,073 league minutes this season, Barnes has bagged 6 goals and 3 assists. And since Gameweek 28, here’s how he stacks up among midfielders (per start):

  • 🥇 1st in Shots
  • 🥇 1st in Shots in the Box
  • 🥇 1st in xGI
  • 🥈 2nd in xG
  • 🥈 2nd in xPts

Oh, and by the way—he’s also the only Newcastle player to return in each of the last three Gameweeks. And yet, bafflingly, he’s nowhere near the top 30 most transferred-in assets.

So while everyone else is busy panic-buying other Newcastle (and Palace assets), here’s your golden chance to grab a red-hot Barnes and blaze your way up the mini-league ranks.

Jacob Murphy (£5.1m) – MID, Newcastle – 11.9% TSB

FPL Gameweek 32 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY- Murphy

Two home games. Neither against a Top Six giant. Newcastle’s DGW fixtures scream potential, and when you dig into the numbers, Murphy’s appeal is impossible to ignore.

Since GW28, among midfielders, Murphy has quietly been cooking:

  • 🥇 1st in FPL points per appearance
  • 🥉 3rd in xG, xGI, xPts per appearance
  • 🥉 3rd in BPS per appearance

Still not convinced? Let’s zoom out. Since GW15:

  • 🥈 2nd in Goal Involvements
  • 🥉 3rd in Goals Scored
  • 🥉 3rd in Big Chances Created
  • 🏅 4th in Assists
  • 🏅 4th in Total FPL Points

And yet… no one’s talking about him. While the crowd chases shiny premiums that blank, Murphy just keeps delivering—quietly, efficiently, and ahead of schedule. Like your favourite late-night food order that always shows up hot.

Verdict? Jacob Murphy isn’t just a cheeky punt—he’s borderline essential for DGW32. Differential status with premium potential? Yes, please.

FPL Gameweek 32 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD

João Pedro (£5.6m) – FWD, Brighton – 14.0% TSB

FPL Gameweek 32 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Hold- Joao Pedro

Pedro is the second-most sold unflagged forward this week… but here’s why that could be a mistake:

Pedro has a mouth-watering run of games all the way through GW36. If you’re planning for the run-in, he’s the kind of set-and-forget enabler that could pay off big.

This week, he faces Leicester, who’ve been defending like they’re allergic to clean sheets:

  • ❌ 20th for Clean Sheets
  • ❌ 19th for Shots in the Box Conceded
  • ❌ 19th for Shots on Target Conceded
  • ❌ 19th for Goals Conceded
  • ❌ 18th for Big Chances Conceded
  • ❌ 18th for Expected Goals Conceded (xGC)
  • ❌ 18th for Non-Penalty xGC
  • ❌ 18th for Total Shots Conceded
  • ❌ 18th for Expected Clean Sheets (xCS)

Basically, Leicester’s backline is the FPL equivalent of an “All You Can Eat” sign—and João Pedro might just be showing up with a plate.

If he starts—and that’s the key—he remains on pens. And encouragingly, since GW12, he’s only been benched twice, suggesting his role in the starting XI is far extremely stable. Given the fixture list and attacking upside, there’s every reason to be patient.

Cole Palmer (£10.7m) – MID, Chelsea – 40.8% TSB

FPL Gameweek 32 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Hold- Palmer

Cole Palmer is the third-most sold unflagged midfielder this week… but let’s take a deep breath and look at the bigger picture. Despite Chelsea being a bit of a soap opera this season, Palmer has been pure FPL gold. His underlying numbers? Absolutely elite:

  • 🥇 1st for Big Chances Created
  • 🥇 1st for xA
  • 🥈 2nd for Shots on Target, Big Chances, xG, xGI, Goal Involvements, Key Passes, xPts, and BPS
  • 🥉 3rd for Shots, Shots in the Box, Goals Scored, and FPL Points

That’s not just a purple patch—that’s a full-on royal robe. Palmer is the heart of Chelsea’s attack and delivers whether he’s scoring or assisting.

Now here’s the kicker: Palmer’s output is closely tied to Nicolas Jackson’s presence. Before Jackson’s injury (GW1–23), Palmer averaged a juicy 7.3 points per game. During Jackson’s absence (GW24–29)? A limp 2.3 PPG. But Jackson returned in GW30, and—boom—Palmer’s back in the points.

Yes, they were surprisingly benched in GW31, but that wasn’t a snub. Maresca clarified it was a tactical call due to fatigue and Brentford’s extra rest—not some secret plan to rest them for Europe. In fact, Maresca all but admitted it nearly worked when Palmer came on and turned the game on its head.

And now? Palmer faces Ipswich, whose defense ranks:

  • ❌ 19th for Shots on Target Conceded
  • ❌ 19th for Big Chances Conceded
  • ❌ 19th for xGC, xCS, and Clean Sheets
  • ❌ 18th for NPxGC and Goals Conceded

In other words, it’s a dream fixture for a player who lives on end product.

So don’t be part of the mass exodus. Palmer isn’t the problem—he’s the escape plan. Hold tight and let him cook.

FPL Gameweek 32 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL

Ola Aina (£5.2m) – DEF, Nott’m Forest – 19.3% TSB

FPL Gameweek 32 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Sell- Aina

Ola Aina is currently the most transferred-out defender this week, and—let’s be honest—it’s hard to argue with the crowd on this one.

The 27-year-old limped off with a calf issue against United, and while Forest haven’t given a timeline, his latest Snapchat says more than any press conference ever could: crutches and no walking in sight.

With Aina still owning a spot in many squads (5th highest-owned defender!), this is the kind of red flag that can’t be ignored—especially with a price drop looming like an injury-time equaliser.

Verdict: Great servant, but it’s time to cut the cord. There are plenty of fit defenders ready to step in—don’t let sentiment sink your squad.

Bryan Mbeumo (£8.0m) – MID, Brentford – 35.7% TSB

FPL Gameweek 32 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Sell- Mbeumo

It might surprise a few to see Bryan Mbeumo—the 3rd most-owned and 2nd highest-scoring midfielder—on the SELL list but hear me out.

Brentford are rock bottom (20th) in Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR) till GW35.

With the season entering chip chaos mode, we need players with upside now. Mbeumo may be on pens and have delivered earlier, but his upcoming fixtures look more like a gauntlet than a green patch.

It’s not about loyalty, it’s about late-season logic. Sell high, reinvest smartly, and let someone else cling to past hauls while you chase future points.
