Gameweek 30 was a unique chapter in this season’s FPL story, where the unstoppable force that is Mohamed Salah surprisingly blanked—despite Liverpool securing a crucial victory over their Merseyside rivals, Everton, edging ever closer to Premier League glory. For a player of his caliber, failing to register an attacking return in a dominant win felt like an anomaly, a rare disruption in the natural order of FPL.
But if Salah’s blank was an aberration, let’s turn our attention to those who defied the odds and emerged as Gameweek 30’s Double-Digit Heroes—players who delivered spectacular hauls despite flying under the radar.
Double Digit Heroes | Pts. | Ownership |
M.Asensio | 12 | 2.9% |
Enzo | 11 | 3.8% |
Elanga | 11 | 8.2% |
Merino | 10 | 1.5% |
Rogers | 10 | 16.6% |
Tonali | 10 | 0.5% |
Among them, only Rogers had ownership above 10%, proving yet again that differentials can be the difference between a mediocre and a spectacular gameweek. While many managers struggled with uninspiring scores, those who took the road less traveled reaped rich rewards.
However, the biggest news this week isn’t just about unexpected FPL heroes—it’s the official confirmation of Double Gameweek 33 (DGW33) and Blank Gameweek 34 (BGW34)!
So if Gameweek 30 didn’t go your way, chin up, managers! We have entered the business end of the season—where every transfer, every chip, and every calculated risk could define your final rank. Now is the time to strategize, plan meticulously, and make every move count.
So, let’s start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for this GW, sponsored by …. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want 😊

FPL Gameweek 31 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY
Alexander Isak (£9.5m) – FWD, Newcastle – 58.9% TSB

Alexander Isak continues to make a strong case as one of the must-have forwards in FPL. Newcastle’s talisman has been in electrifying form. He is currently the highest scoring FWD. His movement, finishing ability, and penalty duties make him a prime asset, especially with Newcastle’s upcoming fixtures looking favorable.

Isak faces a Leicester defense that has been among the worst in the league, ranking:
🔻 20th for Clean Sheets
🔻 19th for Shots in the Box Conceded
🔻 19th for Shots on Target Conceded
🔻 19th for Goals Conceded
🔻 18th for Big Chances Conceded
🔻 18th for Expected Goals Conceded (xGC)
🔻 18th for Non-Penalty xGC
🔻 18th for Shots Conceded
🔻 18th for Expected Clean Sheets (xCS)
With Newcastle maintaining strong attacking numbers and the likes of Murphy, Barnes, and potentially Gordon creating chances, Isak is primed to capitalize. At £9.5m, he offers an ideal mix of consistency and explosiveness, making him a top target for managers looking to strengthen their forward line.
Latest injury update on Isak:
Eddie Howe when asked about Isak and Trippier: “We don’t think we’ve got any big injuries from Weds, just a couple of niggles. Hopefully they’re feeling OK”. Isak felt his groin in the warm-up on Wednesday. It’s a new issue, not linked to old one. Howe says they will know more today, but it’s not a “big” injury.
This injury update suggests that Isak should be fit considering Newcastle play only on Monday.

Jørgen Strand Larsen (£5.3m) – FWD, Wolves – 3.3% TSB

Jørgen Strand Larsen is hitting form at just the right time, making him a great FPL investment ahead of Wolves’ favorable fixture against Ipswich. With 22 points in his last two games, he’s showcasing both goal-scoring ability and consistency, something every FPL manager looks for in a mid-priced forward. Matheus Cunha’s suspension further cements Larsen’s importance in Wolves’ attack, ensuring he remains the focal point for chances and set-piece involvement.
Wolves have been playing positive attacking football, and against an Ipswich side that has struggled defensively in recent weeks, Larsen has a strong opportunity to extend his scoring streak. His physical presence, intelligent positioning, and ability to finish clinically make him a top pick for managers looking to capitalize on form and fixtures. At £5.3m, he’s an affordable way to tap into Wolves’ attack without breaking the bank.

FPL Gameweek 31 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD
Yoane Wissa (£6.6m) – FWD, Brentford – 15.0% TSB

Despite being the most sold unflagged forward this week, Yoane Wissa’s form suggests FPL managers may be making a mistake by moving him on.
Since GW26, Wissa has been in blistering form, ranking 1st among forwards for FPL points, goals, assists, shots in the box, goal involvements, key passes, and BPS. He’s also 2nd for shots on target, xGI, xPts, and Bonus Points, proving his all-around influence in Brentford’s attack. Selling a player with this level of consistent output seems premature, especially when his underlying numbers suggest his purple patch is far from over.
Brentford’s attacking setup continues to favor Wissa, and his ability to score, assist, and rack up bonus points makes him a well-rounded asset. While fixtures might not seem easy on paper, his recent performances show he can deliver against any opposition. His xG and xA numbers indicate that his returns are sustainable, and with his price offering incredible value, holding onto Wissa could be the smarter move rather than chasing short-term alternatives.

Cole Palmer (£10.7m) – MID, Chelsea – 42.0% TSB

Cole Palmer is the most transferred-out unflagged midfielder this week, but I would urge managers to have patience.
Despite Chelsea’s inconsistency, Cole Palmer remains one of the most reliable midfield options in FPL. His underlying numbers are simply elite—1st among midfielders for key passes, big chances created, and xA, while also ranking 2nd for shots on target, xG, xGI, xPts, goal involvements, BPS, and FPL points. These stats highlight his all-around attacking influence, making him a standout asset even in a struggling Chelsea side. His ability to create and convert chances ensures he remains a consistent points scorer, offering both goal threat and assist potential.
A key factor in Palmer’s output is the return of Nicolas Jackson. Before Jackson’s injury (GW1-23), Palmer averaged 7.3 points per game, compared to just 2.3 points per game during Jackson’s absence (GW24-29). With Jackson back in GW30, Palmer immediately returned to form with a 6-point haul, reinforcing his dependency on having a focal point to play off. Given his key role in Chelsea’s attack, penalty duties, and the numbers to back his potential, there’s little reason to sell him now. Holding onto Palmer looks like the right move, especially as Chelsea’s fixtures ease up.

FPL Gameweek 31 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL
Erling Haaland (£14.8m) – FWD, Man City – 24.4% TSB

Erling Haaland’s ankle injury is a major blow for FPL managers, and with Pep Guardiola confirming a potential 5–7-week absence, it’s time to move on. At £14.8m, Haaland is the most expensive asset in the game, and keeping that much budget tied up in an unavailable player is simply not viable. Even if he recovers sooner, there’s no guarantee he will return to peak fitness immediately, and with crucial Champions League fixtures ahead, Pep could ease him back cautiously rather than rushing him into league action.
With Haaland out, this opens the door for alternative options who can deliver big points. Forwards like Alexander Isak, Omar Marmoush and Jean-Philippe Mateta offer strong form at a much lower price. Offloading Haaland now allows you to redistribute funds effectively across your squad, improving overall team balance rather than holding onto an injured asset with no clear return date.

Gabriel Magalhães (£6.4m) – DEF, Arsenal – 26.9% TSB

Gabriel Magalhães has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on a hamstring injury, making him an obvious sell for FPL managers. The Arsenal defender has been a key figure in one of the league’s best defenses, but with no chance of returning before the campaign ends, there’s no reason to hold onto him. At £6.4m, his price can be reinvested in defenders from other teams still competing for key positions, ensuring you don’t waste a slot on an injured player.

With Gabriel sidelined, Arsenal’s defense could be less stable, making their other defensive assets slightly riskier. Instead, options like Daniel Muñoz, Dan Burn or Ezri Konsa could be smart replacements, freeing up funds for upgrades elsewhere. Given the injury timeline, it’s time to move on from Gabriel and focus on players who can deliver points in the crucial final weeks of the season.
