FPL Gameweek 26 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Buy, Hold & Sell

With just one fixture left in this gameweek, it’s safe to say GW25 has been nothing short of unpredictable. In the 10 matches played so far, we’ve seen 15 instances of double-digit returns, yet—aside from Luis Díaz—not a single player or manager involved is owned by more than 10% of FPL managers.

The Assistant Manager chip, in particular, has been a wild ride. Marco Silva has delivered 36 points across the last two gameweeks, while Hürzeler has managed 21 points in just one. Meanwhile, many managers who switched from Moyes to Emery for Aston Villa’s double gameweek have been left frustrated—so far, Moyes has outscored Emery, leaving Villa’s supporters hoping for a miracle against Liverpool. Given how unpredictable the Assistant Manager chip has been, it truly feels like a lottery at this point. So I won’t be surprised to see an upset at Villa Park on Wednesday.

If your GW25 score hasn’t gone as planned, don’t be discouraged—there’s plenty of time for things to turn around. Now, let’s dive into our article for GW26!

So, let’s start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for this GW, sponsored by …. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want 😊

FPL Gameweek 26 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY

PS – I am not mentioning Salah, as he is non-negotiable at this point. I assume he is already in your team.

Justin Kluivert (£6.0m) – MID, Bournemouth – 26.2% TSB

FPL Gameweek 26 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY- Kluivert

Justin Kluivert is the most transferred-in midfielder this gameweek, and his underlying stats make it easy to see why. Since GW21, he has been among the top-performing midfielders, ranking:

  • 3rd for Big Chances
  • 3rd for xG
  • 2nd for BPS
  • 2nd for Bonus
  • 1st for Goals Scored
  • 1st for Goal Involvements
  • 1st for FPL points

In GW26, he faces a struggling Wolves side that has won just once in their last seven league games and ranks:

  • 15th for xGC
  • 16th for Clean Sheets
  • 18th for Goals Conceded

Beyond GW26, Bournemouth’s fixture run remains highly favorable, making Kluivert not just a short-term punt but a valuable long-term asset.

With an ideal combination of form, fixtures, and underlying numbers, he stands out as one of the best picks this week—an essential addition for FPL managers looking to gain an edge.

Kaoru Mitoma (£6.3m) – MID, Brighton – 6.2% TSB

FPL Gameweek 26 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY- Mitoma

Kaoru Mitoma is the second most transferred-in midfielder this gameweek, and it’s easy to see why managers are placing their faith in the Brighton star. Let’s take a closer look at what makes him such an attractive pick.

Since GW21, Mitoma has racked up 35 points—only four midfielders have managed more in that period.

His GW26 fixture is particularly enticing, as he faces a Southampton side that ranks dead last across almost every key defensive metric, including:

  • Shots in Box Conceded
  • Shots on Target Conceded
  • Shots from Set Pieces Conceded
  • Big Chances Conceded
  • NPxGC
  • xGC
  • xCS
  • Goals Conceded

Beyond this Gameweek, Mitoma’s schedule remains favorable, with only two fixtures rated FDR 4 or higher. Most crucially, he does not blank in GW29, making him an ideal asset for those looking to navigate the Blank Gameweek without using chips. If you’re planning ahead, Mitoma could be the perfect addition to your squad.

FPL Gameweek 26 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD

Yoane Wissa (£6.3m) – FWD, Brentford – 11.8% TSB

FPL Gameweek 26 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD- Wissa

Wissa is currently the second most transferred-out unflagged forward this week, yet a closer look at his underlying numbers suggests that this could be a hasty decision.

Since GW21, he has managed only 14 points, which may seem underwhelming. However, his expected goal involvement (xGI) during this period ranks second among all forwards, highlighting his continued attacking threat. His recent misfortunes include being denied by the offside flag twice against West Ham, further emphasizing how close he has been to delivering significant returns.

With Leicester up next—one of the worst teams defensively across all key metrics—Wissa has a strong chance to capitalize and turn his performances into FPL points. Selling him now could prove costly.

Bryan Mbeumo (£7.9m) – MID, Brentford – 35.5% TSB

FPL Gameweek 26 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD- Mbeumo

Despite being transferred out by over 28,000 managers, Wissa’s team mate Mbeumo remains a strong hold given his underlying statistics.

He has accumulated just 16 points since GW21, but during this time, his xGI ranks second among all midfielders. This indicates that he has been heavily involved in Brentford’s attacking play but has been unlucky not to convert his chances into FPL returns.

His GW26 opponents Leicester are ranked in the Bottom 3 for almost all defensive metrics:

  • Shots Conceded
  • Shots in the Box Conceded
  • Shots on Target Conceded
  • Big Chances Conceded
  • NPxGC
  • xGC
  • xCS
  • Goals Conceded
  • Clean Sheets

Given Mbeumo’s attacking involvement and Brentford’s favorable fixture, parting ways with him now could be a mistake. He still has the potential to deliver in the coming weeks.

FPL Gameweek 26 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL

Morgan Rogers (£5.7m) – MID, Aston Villa – 29.2% TSB

FPL Gameweek 26 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL- Rogers

Among midfielders, Morgan Rogers is in Top 3 in terms of transfers out this gameweek.           In the last 6 games, Rogers has scored 11 points – a run where he faced teams like Leicester, Everton, West Ham, Wolves and Ipswich. Now his schedule becomes tougher along with a blank in GW29.

It is high time to look at similar priced midifielders who are generating higher returns and most importantly don’t blank in GW29. Players like Ouattara, Schade, Minteh, Christie and Nwaneri should be your ideal replacements.

Amad Diallo (£5.5m) – MID, Man Utd – 16.4% TSB

FPL Gameweek 26 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL- Diallo

Amad Diallo is the most transferred out player this week and there’s reason why. Amad’s promising return to Manchester United’s first team has been cut short after he suffered a season-ending ankle injury. The young winger had shown glimpses of his potential, but with this unfortunate setback ruling him out for the rest of the campaign, keeping him in your FPL squad is now a wasted spot. With no chance of accumulating points, Diallo’s ownership will likely drop sharply, making him a must-sell for managers looking to optimize their squads.

Holding on to injured players is rarely a smart FPL strategy, especially when there are numerous budget-friendly alternatives available. Instead of letting Diallo sit idly in your squad, consider reinvesting in wingers who are guaranteed game time. Options like Anthony Elanga (Nottingham Forest) or even a differential pick from mid-table teams could offer far better returns. Don’t let sentimentality dictate your decisions—move Diallo out and free up funds for players who can actually deliver points in the coming Gameweeks.
