FPL GW23 Transfer Targets
Trent Alexander-Arnold LIV Β£8.5
Projected Points GW23-28: 23.1
Trent Alexander-Arnold recovered from his injury and made a brief appearance in the FA Cup. Trent was benched for the GW22 game vs Chelsea(22 mins appearance off the bench). Trent in our watchlist is very contingent on Liverpool getting that double GW25, which could be announced before GW23.
Suppose Trent does have that DGW25, then TAAβs defensive schedule would rank as the 2nd easiest over the next 6 GWs. Trent has also massively improved his underlying stats with a 0.37 xGI per 90 minutes, which was not the same earlier in the season. If we get the news that Liverpool does double in GW25, then he will be the best defender to own in the upcoming GWs and should be on all of our watchlists.
Trent Alexander Arnold- Attacking Rank among DEFs since GW9:
- xGI- 1st
- Shots- 2nd
- Chances Created- 1st(1st among all players)
- Big Chances Created- 1st(1st among all players)
- Bonus Points- 1st
- FPL Points- 1st
Key Stat: Since GW9, Trent Alexander Arnold is the Highest scoring Defender in FPL with 80 points. For context, the 2nd highest during this time is team-mate Van Dijk at 66 points despite having 2 more starts than TAA.

Kevin De Bruyne MCI Β£10.7
Projected Points GW23-28: 33.2
The assist king is back and started against Burnley, and even though he has not yet played at the time of writing, we expect him to do well. KDB is a prime candidate on our watchlist, as we have seen Salah and Haaland deal with injuries recently, and we have plenty of money to go around. With KDB being one of those premium players we are now able to afford, I do like him as an FPL option.
City has the best schedule for attackers over the next six GWs, which includes their DGW25.
KDB is also great when he does play for City with a 0.73 xGI per 90 minutes (of course a small sample size). Managers looking for a great differential for the upcoming GWs need to consider KDB as a pick, and he is a player firmly on my watchlist.
De Bruyne in his last 2 games in PL(Since his return from injury):
- Minutes: 92(22 minutes vs Newcastle, 70 mins vs Burnley)
- Shots: 5
- xG: 0.25
- Chances Created: 4
- Big Chances created: 2
- xA: 0.5
- Goal Involvements: 3(1 goal, 2 assists)
- FPL Points: 18

Darwin Nunez LIV Β£7.5
Projected Points GW23-28: 25.3
I know, I know, Darwin Nunez is a troll who only does the points when we do not have him in our teams. While I do understand that sentiment, I still see Darwin as a player all managers need to have on their watchlist, given that Liverpool might have a DGW25 announced before the GW23 deadline.
Nunez is an agent of chaos, and not every manager can handle that, but his underlying stats of 0.97 xGI per 90 minutes are elite. If that DGW25 is announced, then Nunez would have the 2nd best fixtures for attackers over the next six GWs. With great fixtures, plenty of money with Salah and Haalandβs injuries, and amazing underlying stats, Darwin remains a great option to keep in mind for the upcoming GWs.
Darwin Nunez owners can consider themselves unlucky after this performance vs Chelsea. He did hit the post 4 times and missed a penalty as it could have been a massive Double digit haul. Darwinβs 11 Shots vs Chelsea is the Highest for any player in a single game in Premier League this season. He did end up with only 2 points but it looks like better days are coming soon for Darwin!
