FPL GW22 Scout Picks
FPL GW22 Scout Picks – Goalkeeper
David Raya up against Forest(A) starts in goal. Arsenal have 50% chances of a clean sheet vs Nottingham Forest in GW22- Second Highest among all the teams for GW22. Raya has 23 points from the last 5 games(Joint 2nd Highest among GKs during this time) with 2 clean sheets and one penalty save. Arsenal have conceded the Least Big Chances in the League this season as well.

FPL GW22 Scout Picks – Defenders
Even though Spurs have only one clean sheet from the last 10 games, Pedro Porro is once again one of the Top Defender Picks in our FPL GW22 Scout Picks. Even with only one clean sheet, Porro has 7 returns during this time thanks to his 6 assists which ranks Highest among all players during this time. Since GW10, Porro is ranked 1st for xGI(5.1), 1st for xA(3.79), 1st for Shots(22), 2nd for Big Chances created(8) in the league. Porro is essentially an attacker playing as a defender.
Estupinan has returned in 3/3 games since his return from injury. With this amazing fixture run, more returns could easily be on the cards. We all know how attacking and explosive Estupinan can be. To add to this, Estupinan was also on some corners in GW21(5 corners taken, 3 off them into the box).
Kyle Walker rounds up the defense in our Scout Team for GW22. No doubt that, Manchester City are right among the Top 2 Defenses in the league as suggested by the underlying numbers- 2nd least Big Chances conceded(30) and second best for nPxGA(17.7) in the league. To get a player from this defense who has started 20/20 league games is something what FPL managers want. Bonus is that Manchester City have a confirmed Double Gameweek in GW25. Walker also has an improved attacking threat compared to previous seasons and should be one of your Top Transfer Targets.
Over the last 6 games, Burnley are ranked 20th for Non-Penalty xG, 19th for Big Chances and Joint 20th for Goals scored in the league. So a certain clean sheet for Walker and Manchester City is on the cards in Gameweek 22.
FPL GW22 Scout Picks – Midfielders
Kevin De Bruyne is back from injury, looking good and has 2 good cameo appearances- 20 minutes as a sub vs Newcastle in GW21, 25 minutes as a sub in FA Cup vs Spurs. He might finally be in the starting line up in GW22 vs Burnley.
KDB did get a goal and assist in just 21 minutes of action against Newcastle. Burnley have conceded 42 goals from 21 games this season(2 goals conceded/game)- 2nd Highest among all teams. KDB might not play the full 90 minutes as a pre caution, but that might not stop him from causing havoc.
Richarlison against Brentford(H) is a no-brainer pick considering the form he is in right now. Since GW16, No player in the league has more goals(6) and more FPL Points(49) than Richarlison averaging more than 8 points per game.
Richarlison attack rank among Midfielders since GW16:
- Non Penalty xG- 1st
- Big Chances- 1st
- Shots inside the Box- 3rd
- Shots on Target- 2nd
- Goals- 1st
- FPL Points- 1st
Richarlison and Spurs should fancy their chances against a Brentford side who have not kept a clean sheet over the last 10 games conceding 21 goals in the process. In fact, all other teams have atleast kept one clean sheet during this time. Richarlison is also a good Differential Captaincy shout for this week!
Diogo Jota rewarded his early buyers with a massive 19 point haul in GW21 courtesy 2 goals, 1 assist and 3 bonus points. Before this haul, he did get 1 goal, 2 assists from 32 combined cameo minutes across GW19 and GW20. Jota also scored a goal in the 5-2 FA Cup win over Norwich on Sunday. So the man is in red hot form and hungry for goals. With Salah injured and ruled out, the onus will be on Diogo Jota once again to get the goals for Liverpool and lead the title charge.
Jarod Bowen is one of the most under rated picks in the game. Bowen has 11 goals, 2 assists, 113 points from 20 games this season. His underlying numbers are also excellent- 51 Shots, 15 Big Chances, 8.11 xG, 14 Chances created, 6 Big Chances created, 2.37 xA.
Only Salah(20) has more Big Chances than Bowen(15) among Midfielders this season. But this includes 6 penalties of Salah which are counted as Big Chances whereas Bowen is not on penalties. This essentially means that Bowen is Top among Midfielders for Non-Penalty Big Chances among Midfielders this season.
With Kudus also likely to be back after being knocked out from AFCON, West Ham attack should improve and it should also benefit Bowen in FPL terms.
Even with a difficult fixture vs Liverpool(A), Cole Palmer makes the cut and rounds up the midfield in GW22 Scout Selection. Palmer became a regular starter in GW7 and since then he has 9 goals, 5 assists from 14 games averaging a return/game. Palmer is also on penalties and has scored 5/5 from the spot this season. Only Salah(113) has more points than Palmer(98) during this period. Palmer is also only behind Salah for xGI and xG among Midfielders during this time.
It is difficult to put off Palmer even with a tough fixture vs Liverpool as Palmer has performed in big games and has already returned vs Arsenal, Spurs, Man City and Manchester United this season.

FPL GW22 Scout Picks – Forwards
It looks like Haaland is unlikely to start against Burnley in GW22 from the latest conference update. It does mean that Julian Alvarez will be getting the nod as the striker once again.
Pep update on Haaland:
“When we came back, after two or three sessions, he felt a little bit of disturbance and that’s why we were a little bit cautious after we waited a lot of time, in December he could not play for a long time to try to avoid it, and now he feels good and now we give him three more or four days and hopefully in Burnley he can play some minutes, his first minutes, we will see.”
Alvarez has 2 goals from the last 3 games in Premier League. But his underlying numbers during this time has exceptional- 15 Shots,12 Shots inside the Box, 4 Big Chances, 8 Chances created, 3.7 xGI. In fact, his xG of 3.02 and 12 shots inside the box during this period is the Highest among all players. Alvarez also takes the armband as he tops our Highly Successful Captaincy Metrics for GW22. He is also a good one week punt to buy if you have the luxury.
Matchup alert:
- Burnley have conceded 29 chances down the center over the last 6 games- 2nd Highest among all the teams during this time.
- Burnley have conceded 16 Big Chances from the last 6 games- 5th Highest among all the teams during this period.
Joao Pedro is in exceptional form scoring 7 goals, 1 assist from his last 5 games in all competitions including a Hatrick vs Sheffield United in FA Cup over the weekend. He is on penalties and the main man for De Zebri to get the goals in the absence of Mitoma and Adingra.
Up against a Luton Town side who have conceded 80 chances down the center this season(4th Highest among all the teams in the league), Pedro should fancy his chances to get another haul in GW22.
