FPL GW16 Transfer Targets
Pedro Porro TOT Β£5.3
Projected Points GW16-22: 27.9
A watchlist player last GW, Porro rewarded his managers with a nice 5-pointer in a low scoring GW thanks to his 1 assist giving him 2 bonus points. Moving forward, Porro is the best defensive asset to bring this GW, as there are not that many options, and he offers too much upside to ignore. Porroβs upside comes from his 0.41xGI per 90 minutes, thanks to him being on most set pieces now with Maddisonβs injury. Porroβs fixtures are not great, with the 8th hardest fixtures over the next 6 GWs, but with no defenders keeping clean sheets, then we need to start looking for those explosive assets like Porro. With decent fixtures, explosive upside, and playing for a defense thatβs getting key players back, I love bringing in Porro this GW.
Pedro Porro Attacking Stats since GW11(Rank among Defenders):
- Shots- 10(1st)
- Shots inside the box- 7(2nd)
- Expected Goal Involvement- 2.4(1st)
- Big Chances created- 5(2nd)
- Assists- 3(Joint 1st)

With Mbeumoβs injury, every single content creator will pitch Gordon and Palmer as the best replacement for the Brentford midfielder. While I do love those options, I wanted to focus on a player some managers are talking about less. Enter Jarrod Bowen, who added to his impressive away record with another goal, making him not blank in any away game this season. Moving forward, I do like Bowen as an option, given his high upside. Bowen is now playing number 9 for West Ham and is recording a 0.56 xGI per 90 minutesΒ (most of the date was not of him as a 9). Β In this congested period, Bowen should also start all the games and play 90 minutes unless he is injured, which is a massive trait. A talisman for a good attacking side and the 2nd best fixtures for attackers over the next six GWs, Bowen is definitely another midfielder I would look at as a Mbeumo replacement.
Bowen is up against Fulham at away in GW16. His away record has been brilliant this season where he has not blanked at all.
Bowen Stats in Away games this season(Rank among midfielders):
- Matches- 7
- Shots- 20(1st)
- Shots on Target- 10(1st)
- Shots inside the Box- 15(1st)
- Big Chances- 7(1st)
- Non-Penalty xG- 3.85(1st)
- Goals- 7(Joint 1st)
- FPL Points/Appearance- 8.14(1st)

Dominic Solanke BOU Β£6.5 Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β
Projected Points GW16-22: 30.5
With a blank in GW15, the Solanke train has slowed down a bit. I still have him on the watchlist, especially for managers on a 3-4-3 formation, given his reliability and decent fixtures. Solanke should start and play 90 minutes in every single game, and that is gold in this congested period. Solanke also offers good underlying stats for his price with a 0.69 xGI per 90 minutes. Solankeβs fixtures are also decent, with the 8th easiest fixtures for attackers over the next six GWs. After GW16, Solankeβs next 3 fixtures look really good.
Look, Solanke will never be the sexiest pick, but he is a player who should provide excellent value for what you are paying for him.
Solanke is right up there for Expected Goal Involvement as seen above. He has also taken 16 shots from inside the box during this time(GW11-GW15) which is the 2nd highest among all the players in the league only behind Haaland.
