Finally a GW where the BIG GUNS blazed Salah, Haaland, Son, Watkins, TAA, Trippier, Saka, Ødegaard – as a result the avg. score increased significantly over the previous GW. But before we can breathe, another deadline is upon us.
So, let’s start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for this GW, sponsored by …. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want 😊

FPL Gameweek 15 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY
Martin Dubravka (£4.0m) – GKP, Newcastle – 2.8% TSB
Santiago Canizares was set to be Spain’s first choice keeper in the 2002 World Cup. But he severed a tendon in his right foot in a bizarre accident involving a bottle of cologne in his hotel room. A shard of glass dropped on to the player’s foot and cut into the tendon in his big toe after he had accidentally smashed the bottle against the sink in the bathroom. That opened the doors for a certain Iker Casillas to be Spain’s number one GK and the rest is history.
Pope’s injury was not as freak, but it has suddenly put Dubravka in the spotlight. At least in December he is nailed as the starting GK for an elite Newcastle defence. The best part is he rotates extremely well with another cheap starting GK Areola.
- GW15- Dubravka vs EVE(A)
- GW16- Areola vs FUL(A)
- GW17- Dubravka vs FUL(H)
- GW18- Dubravka vs LUT(A)
- GW19- Dubravka vs NFO(H)
- GW20- Areola vs BHA(H)
- GW21- Areola vs SHU(A)
- GW22- Areola vs BOU(H)
- GW23- Dubravka vs LUT(H)
- GW24- Dubravka vs NFO(A)
- GW25- Dubravka vs BOU(H)
Dubravka has already seen a price rise and I suggest going for him early to avoid further price rises.
The only word of caution I have – As per some reports, Newcastle are considering a shock move for David de Gea. If that happens and DDG starts, you will be locked out of Newcastle assets like Burn and Botman, in case you already have Trippier and Isak/ Gordon and Dubravka is your 3rd Magpie.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.0m) – DEF, Liverpool – 10.3% TSB
The only reason, TAA makes the list is because I am assuming you are already having Salah.
Trent is finally back. His returns in the last 6 games are 13, 8, 7, 2, 5, 6 – a staggering 41 points in the last 6 games or 28 points in the last 3 games; whichever way you look at it – the highest for any defender in that period.
Trent Alexander-Arnold faces a Sheffield United side whose toothless in attack is well known. Sheffield ranks
- 20th for Shots
- 20th for Shots in the Box
- 20th for Big Chances
- 20th for xG
- 20th for xGNP
- 20th for xG Open Play
- 20th for Goals scored
But everyone knows TAA’s appeal lies in his attacking prowess. So let’s look at SHU’s defensive numbers. Their defence which ranks ROCK BOTTOM for
- Shots conceded
- Shots in the Box
- Shots on Target
- Big Chances
- xG Conceded
- xGNP Conceded
- Goals Conceded
- Clean Sheets
So TAA has the potential to haul at both ends.

Ollie Watkins (£8.4m) – FWD, Aston Villa – 37.8% TSB
Watkins was one of the most sold FWDs last GW. He punished his sellers by returning 11 points.
He is again the most transferred out FWD ahead of a home fixture against Man City. A Man City side who has kept only 2 Clean Sheets since GW3.
Watkins on the other hand has blanked only thrice this season. He is the highest scoring FWD in home games. HOLD Watkins

Bruno Fernandes (£8.3m) – MID, Manchester United – 13.9% TSB
The team which is ranked 20th in terms of goals conceded in the last 3 GWs – Chelsea
If you feel this is a function of fixtures (as they faced Man City, Newcastle and Brighton in these 3 GWs), then let’s take a larger sample set to eradicate any bias/ anomaly. Let’s take last 7 GWs (October onwards). Chelsea are ranked 19th in terms of goals conceded in this period too (behind last boys Sheffield)
Despite the gloomy Man Utd form, Bruno remains an elite asset. Among midfielders, he ranks
- 1st for crosses
- 1st for Key Passes
- 1st for Final 3rd passes
- 2nd for successful Final 3rd passes
- 2nd for xA
- 2nd for Big Chances Created
So if you have the Portuguese playmaker in your team still, HOLD

FPL Gameweek 15 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL
Nick Pope (£5.5m) – GKP, Newcastle – 10.7% TSB
More than 140,000 managers have already sold Pope and understandably so. He suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder in their win over Manchester United. Though the official confirmation is awaited, Eddie Howe confessed:-
“It looks like maybe the arm has just kept on going, maybe on the moist floor, and his shoulder has come out of his joint. We’re going to have to seek specialist opinion and then see what happens, but it doesn’t look good. Too early to say (a timeframe). He was in pain when the shoulder was out of his joint. It’s gone back in now and he feels better but we’ll seek a specialist opinion. It doesn’t sound good.”
£5.5m is too much of a cost to hold onto, especially for a GKP. I recommend you sell Pope.

Matty Cash (£4.9m) – DEF, Aston Villa – 26.3% TSB
I will keep it short. Top 3 reasons to sell Cash
- Cash not only has generated just 1 return in last 7 GWs
- Cash failed to complete 60 mins in two successive GWs
- Aston Villa are ranked 20th in terms of FDR for the next
- 2 GWs
- 3 GWs
- 5 GWs
- 6 GWs
- 8 GWs
So sell Cash. In fact, you might consider selling other AVL defenders as well
