FPL GW6 Scout Picks- Goalkeeper
Flekken has decent fixtures and has good clean-sheet potential in the next few games, Brentford’s defence has the 6th best xGC in the league so far this season(6.05 in 5 games). They have also conceded only six goals in five games. Brentford also have the 5th highest odds of keeping a clean sheet this week with a 38% clean sheet probability.

FPL GW6 Scout Picks- Defenders
Schar and Botman are both in our scout picks team this week. Newcastle kept their first clean sheet of the season vs Newcastle in GW5 and held AC Milan to a 0-0 draw in their UCL game midweek. The Newcastle defence have conceded just five big chances which is the joint lowest in the league in spite of playing some of the best attacks in the Premier League so far this season. Doubling up on their defence is a good move for FPL GW6 and beyond!
Newcastle Defence numbers Big Chances conceded: 5(Joint Lowest in the League) xGC(Expected goals conceded): 5.45(4th best in the League) Goals conceded: 7 Opponents faced so far: Brentford(GW5), Brighton(GW4), Liverpool(GW3), Man City(GW2), Aston Villa(GW1). Newcastle have faced 5 of the top six attacks so far this season based on xG!
Teams with the highest xG so far this season
Team | Goals | xG |
Man City | 14 | 12.57 |
Aston Villa | 11 | 11.33 |
Brighton | 15 | 10.71 |
Brentford | 8 | 10.53 |
Chelsea | 5 | 10.27 |
Liverpool | 12 | 10.23 |
Estupinan did not feature in the win over Man United post the international break, but the star fullback was back in the playing 11 in Brighton’s midweek Europa League game. He has an amazing matchup vs Bournemouth, The Cherries have conceded a whopping 24 chances from their right zone(3rd worst in the league) which is where Estupinan will operate. Brighton have a 41% chance of a clean sheet this week and with Estupinan’s attacking threat, he could be well in for a haul this week.

FPL GW6 Scout Picks- Midfielders
Mbeumo vs Everton(H) is one of the Top picks for this week. He has been on fire this season- 4 goals, 35 points from 5 games averaging 7 points/game. He is only behind Haaland(45) and Alvarez (37) for FPL points this season. 2 of his 4 goals have come from the penalty spot which invites the argument if he is good without penalties. But he has a Non-penalty xGI of 2.42 from 5 games which are still great numbers.
Brentford are up against Everton who have conceded 9 goals from 5 games without keeping a clean sheet- despite playing Sheffield, Wolves, and Fulham in this run. Mbeumo should be one of your Top Transfer Targets for GW6 vs Everton if you don’t have him already.
Salah has created the most big chances in the league so far this season(6) and the Liverpool attacker hasn’t yet blanked this season, in fact, he hasn’t blanked since DGW34 of last season. He’s once again a great option against West Ham in GW6, the Hammers are yet to keep a clean sheet this season, with their NPxGC of 10.44 being the 4th highest in the league.
The Hammers have also conceded 24 chances from the left zone(Salah’s wing) which is the 2nd most in the league so far this season.
Marcus Rashford hasn’t quite lived up to the expectations this season. He’s been a frustrating asset for FPL managers, but he has a great fixture in FPL GW6 vs Burnley to get back in form. Burnley have conceded the most goals(12) so far this season in spite of playing a game less!
Rashford’s NPxGI of 3.24 is the 5th highest amongst midfielders so far this season but has got only 2 assists so far. He also seems to benefit from the partnership with Rasmus Hojlund and the duo are building a good linkup between them which bodes well from an FPL perspective. Burnley also concede chances heavily through their right(20) and central(19) zones(LW and centre for opponents) this is exactly where Rashford operates which gives him an excellent matchup this week.
Eze wraps up the midfield selection of our FPL GW6 scout picks, The eagles talisman has been largely silent so far this season with just a goal to his name. However, he has been unlucky too, and has registered a healthy NPxGI of 3.17 so far this season, the 8th highest amongst midfielders this season. Meanwhile, the Eagles’ FPL GW6 opponent Fulham have conceded the most number of big chances (20) so far this season. They have also given away 10 goals, the joint third-worst record in the league. Eze and Palace also have strong fixtures in the long run so he’s an excellent hold beyond GW6 too

Evan Ferguson makes his scout picks debut for the season, he did not feature in Brighton’s Europa League game but that was not due to injury but illness. Ferguson has scored 4 goals already this season and has a healthy NPxG of 2.44(0.94 per 90) so far this season. Bournemouth are meanwhile 3rd worst for xGC(10.97), only Fulham and Sheffield have a poorer xGC than the Cherries so far this season. Ferguson is an excellent option this week and could go big!
Julian Alvarez has seven goal contributions and has scored 37 points so far this season, only eight less than Haaland and he costs only 6.9 Million. Alvarez is also Man City’s corner taker and direct free-kick taker this season and has played 449/450 possible minutes. He’s also in red-hot form scoring 2 goals in the Champions League game midweek vs FK Crvena Zvezda, following two assists vs West Ham in GW5
Haaland vs Alvarez so far this season
Name | Price | Mins | Shots | Shots on Target | Shots inside box | Big chances | xG | Goals | xGI | Goal involvement | Key passes | Big chances created | xA | Assists | Bonus | Points |
Erling Haaland | £14.1 | 439 | 29 | 16 | 29 | 13 | 7.03 | 7 | 8.4 | 8 | 7 | 1 | 1.41 | 1 | 6 | 45 |
Julian Alvarez | £6.9 | 449 | 16 | 6 | 11 | 3 | 1.9 | 2 | 3.1 | 7 | 16 | 1 | 1.24 | 5 | 5 | 37 |
Haaland is the no-brainer captaincy choice for yet another Scout Selection. He is Top among all players for all the Underlying numbers- Big Chances(13), xG(7.03), and Shots inside the box(29) as well. Without a surprise, Haaland is also Top for Goals(7) and FPL Points(45) this season as well. It could have been much more as he missed 5/6 Big Chances in GW5. Perhaps he would be looking to make amends for that in GW6 vs Forest at Home.
