FPL Fixture Ticker from GW5-10
FPL Double Gameweek 7:
Luton Town and Burnley will have the first double gameweek of the season!
Pros and Cons of FPL GW5 Wildcard
Pros:
- Remove under-performing and injured players from your teams
- Get on teams with good fixtures coming up like Newcastle before other managers target them
- Switch to an attack heavy 3-5-2 or a 3-4-3 as clean sheets have reduced considerably this season
- Cover all the good attacking teams equally on the Wildcard
Cons:
- GW8/GW9 Wildcard might be popular due to the fixture swings for Liverpool, Manchester United, Spurs, Palace, and Villa. You must prepare for that with free transfers.

FPL GW5 Wildcard Drafts
FPL GW5 Wildcard Draft 1
Structure: 3-5-2
Goalkeepers & Defenders
- The two goalkeepers in this draft are Flekken and Areola, Flekken is the best 4.5 Million goalkeeper currently in the game and Areola is a great 2nd keeper choice to consider on Wildcard. West Ham also have a run of decent fixtures from GW7 and if needed you can start Areola over Flekken too in some gameweeks
- Udogie is the 2nd highest-scoring defender in FPL so far this season with 23 points. He’s playing for a very attacking Spurs and he offers both attacking and clean-sheet potential, a no-brainer option on Wildcard.
- Ben Chilwell and Chelsea are yet to keep a clean sheet this season but they still have good fixtures and Chilwell is also up there for attacking stats amongst defenders. His xGI of 1.96 is the 2nd highest amongst defenders this season, only behind Cash!
Team | GW5 | GW6 | GW7 | GW8 | GW9 | GW10 |
Chelsea | BOU (A) | AVL (H) | FUL (A) | BUR (A) | ARS(H) | BRE(H) |
- Ruben Dias is one of the guaranteed starters in Man City’s defence. The current PL champions have conceded the least goals(2), big chances(4), and xGC(2.62) amongst all teams and have kept two clean sheets(Joint most) in the first four games. Man City have good fixtures with clean sheet potential in the short-medium term and Dias should be a good option on Wildcard this week.
- Newcastle have the best run of fixtures amongst all teams starting in GW5 and Botman offers a cheap route into their defence. Note: He’s currently flagged and missed the GW4 fixture vs Brighton due to an ankle injury but is expected to be fit in time for GW5.
Team | GW5 | GW6 | GW7 | GW8 | GW9 | GW10 |
Newcastle | BRE (H) | SHU (A) | BUR (H) | WHU (A) | CRY(H) | WOL(A) |
- Andersen is the 4.0 Million budget defender for the 5th def slot in this FPL GW5 Wildcard draft
Midfielders
Top 5 for xGI Midfielders from GW1- GW4. Mbeumo(5.02) Bruno(3.96) Saka(3.84) Maddison(3.42) Salah(3.10) Except Salah, other 4 feature in the Top 4 for nPxGI as well.
- Mbeumo has been on fire in the opening few games of the season, He’s the highest-scoring midfielder and the 2nd highest-scoring player overall only behind Haaland with 33 points from four goals. 2 of those goals were penalties but his numbers without penalties are also really good, he’s also the highest for NPxGI amongst all players. Brentford are also the team with the most big chances(15) and xG(10.03) so far this season. He’s confident, Brentford are also a good attacking side with decent fixtures, which makes him a no-brainer option.
- Maddison has been one of the best summer signings and has become an important player for Spurs. He has already registered 2 goals and 2 assists in four games making him the 3rd highest scoring midfielder. Madders is also 1st amongst Spurs assets for shots, shots on target, big chances, chances created, big chances created, and xGI(Basically all the key metrics), His NPxGI of 3.42 is also the 2nd highest in the league only behind Mbeumo.
- Mo Salah is in this draft, King Mo is one of the three players to not blank in any games so far this season and in fact, he has not blanked since DGW34 of last season. He has an xGI of 3.4 so far this season which is the 4th highest amongst midfielders.
- Liverpool also have a decent run of games and Salah could convert his consistent returns into huge hauls soon!
Team | GW5 | GW6 | GW7 | GW8 | GW9 | GW10 |
Liverpool | WOL (A) | WHU (H) | TOT (A) | BRI (A) | EVE(H) | NFO(H) |
- Diaby is the somewhat differential option in an otherwise template midfield, The new signing has already scored two goals and is the highest-scoring Villa player currently. Aston Villa have a decent run of fixtures and he’s a good long-term option at just 6.6 Million!
- The Midfield selection is completed by Saka, The Arsenal starboy has been once again consistent and is also on penalties. He has created the 2nd highest chances(14) and ranks 4th for xA(1.6) amongst midfielders. Overall, he’s also 4th for NPxGI(3.05) amongst all midfielders which shows that he’s a good asset even after removing penalties from the equation.
Forwards:
- Alvarez was unlucky not to return in GW3 but treated owners with a massive 14-point haul vs Fulham in GW4. He has played 359/360 minutes in the first four games of the season and is the 2nd highest-scoring Man City asset behind Haaland.
- Alvarez has also posted strong numbers both from a goal-scoring and assisting perspective, he has created 12 chances(3 assists) same as Foden, whilst also posting a healthy xG(1.88) in the opening 4 games. At 6.7 Million he offers great value as the 2nd midfielder in your draft!
- Archer is the bench striker in this draft, he did prove that he could feature if there is a good fixture for Sheffield after returning 12 points(Goal+Assist) on his debut for the Blades in GW4.
FPL GW5 Wildcard Draft 2(Targetting the double in GW7)
- Luton have a decent double gameweek and it could be a decent punt to have 1-2 Luton assets.
- Morris is the best Luton choice, he’s their talisman and is also on penalties. He has already picked up a goal and an assist in two games.
Morris also has decent underlying numbers: 9 shots 2 shots on target 7 shots inside the box 1 big chance 2 chances created 1 big chance created xG of 1.4 xGI of 1.7 in three games
- The second Luton option could be an ultra-differential punt on Ryan Giles who has been a decent crosser so far in the three games. A Morris goal and Giles assist cannot be ruled out!
FPL GW5 Wildcard Draft 3
Structure: 3-5-2 with Son and Maddison
- This draft has Ederson in place of Flekken which opens up the opportunity for a budget midfielder which is filled by Matty Cash(Highest xGI amongst defenders, 2.44). You can also have Henry as an alternative!
- Schar is also in this draft instead of Botman, at just 0.5 Million more Schar offers a great goal threat as well(2nd highest xG(4.95) amongst defenders last season) and if you have the budget then he could be a decent option to consider!
- Son was silent in the first three games of the season but that changed in GW4 when he played centrally as the striker vs Burnley. Son bagged a hat trick and was lethal in the game, We all know how good of an FPL asset is when he’s on form and it’s great to have him back on FPL radar once again. A double-up on Spurs attack is certainly not bad with Spurs being 2nd for goals scored and 4th for xG amongst all teams so far this season.
- Darwin Nunez is in this draft instead of Salah. Nunez is in red-hot form scoring 2 goals and picking up 2 assists in the last two games(xGI of 1.82, 2nd amongst all Liverpool assets). He’s registered 21 points in FPL, only two points shy of Salah in spite of playing just 106 minutes. There can also be a case made for a double-up on Salah and Darwin together in an FPL GW5 Wildcard draft with the duo enjoying a good chemistry!
- This draft also has Foden instead of Alvarez, Both are great options and Foden has been unlucky not to haul so far this season.
FPL GW5 Wildcard Draft 4
Structure: 3-5-2 draft with both Salah and Son
- A slightly differential draft with Awoniyi and Bowen in it to accommodate Salah and Son together in this draft.
- Awoniyi has not blanked in FPL since GW35 of last season and has scored against Arsenal and Man United already this season. A home game against Burnely in GW5 has a good haul potential for him.
- Bowen is the 3rd highest-scoring player so far this season with 30 points from 3 goals and an assist in 4 games. The hammers have Man City and Liverpool in GW5 and GW6, but the fixtures ease after that!
- If you’re not convinced about the Bowen pick due to fixtures you can also go for Eze and Diaby and upgrade a defender to Dias or Flekken to Ederson
FPL GW5 Wildcard Draft 5
Structure: 3-5-2
- A 3-5-2 draft with Trippier and Sterling in it. The 2nd forward slot is taken by Jesus who’s now back from injury. Jesus could also be Alvarez and the funds can be used to upgrade one of the mid-priced mids!
- We all know how good of an FPL asset Trippier was last season, Newcastle finally have a good run of games and Trippier could be backed on a Wildcard. The one con is that he’s very expensive(6.5 million) and Newcastle have a tough UCL group to manage as well in the next 2-3 months.
- Sterling was unlucky not to return vs Forest and Chelsea still have good fixtures so there’s nothing wrong in backing him on Wildcard this week.
- Eze has dropped twice in price but got his first goal of the season vs Wolves in GW4. The palace attacker has a decent run of games and can be a differential option!
FPL GW5 Wildcard Draft 6
- A fairly template 3-5-2 draft with Awoniyi and Edouard being the budget forwards, both of them are in good form(3 goals in 4 games) and rotate well. The Awoniyi and Edouard duo enables you to go for a power midfield consisting of Sterling, Salah, Maddison, Mbeumo, and Martinelli.
FPL GW5 Wildcard Draft 7
- A 3-4-3 draft with Jesus and Jackson in it, Jackson has been underperforming his numbers and has disappointed owners, but he still has the fixtures to come good.
- If you’re not keen on Jackson then you can get Darwin in place of him and move one of Son/Maddison to Sterling. Saka can also become Rashford/Bruno for Man United cover in this draft
