FPL GW4 Wildcard Guide
FPL Fixture List from GW4-10
Pros and Cons of FPL GW4 Wildcard
Pros:
- Remove players who are no longer nailed/Injured (Gabriel, Shaw, James, Stones). Move out Brighton assets who have a tough run of fixtures and plan to bring them back once fixtures are easier.
Team | GW4 | GW5 | GW6 | GW7 | GW8 | GW9 |
Brighton | NEW (H) | MUN (A) | BOU (H) | AVL (A) | LIV (H) | MCI(A) |
- Attack and Target the good fixtures for Chelsea, Manchester City, Brentford. Triple-up of Chelsea and Man City may not be a bad idea.
- Newcastle have a great run of fixtures from GW5. So you can bring in Trippier/Isak before everyone jumps onto the board.
Cons:
- GW8/GW9 Wildcard might be popular due to the fixture swings for Liverpool, Manchester United, Spurs, Palace, and Villa. You must prepare for that with free transfers.
- Might be difficult to get Salah a little later for their good fixture swing from GW9 due to team structure and funds spread out.
Players to target on GW4 Wildcard(Team Wise)
- Chelsea- Chilwell, Sterling, Jackson, Gusto, Sanchez
- Manchester City– Haaland, Foden, Alvarez, Dias, Gvardiol, Walker
- Brentford– Mbeumo, Wissa, Henry, Flekken
- Aston Villa– Watkins, Diaby, Cash, Torres
- Brighton – Estupinan
- Newcastle– Trippier, Botman*, Isak, Hall
- Liverpool– Diaz, Jota
- Spurs– Maddison, Udogie, Kulusevski, Richarlison, Sarr
- Manchester United– Bruno Fernandes, Rashford, Onana
- Palace– Eze, Andersen
- Luton– Kabore
- West Ham– Bowen, Antonio, Ward Prowse, Areola
- Forest– Turner
Carabao Cup Update:
FPL GW4 Wildcard Drafts
FPL GW4 Wildcard Draft 1
Structure: 3-5-2
- Flekken has had a good start to life in the Premier League, he has registered 12 points so far(1CS + 1 save point + 1 Bonus). Flekken has made 10 saves in the first three games and the Bees have a decent run of fixtures. The lack of other stand-out 4.5M goalkeepers(Johnstone will have competition from Henderson who is set to join from Man United, Pickford has been poor, and Sanchez blocks a Chelsea spot) adds value to Flekken as an option. Turner/Areola could then be the 2nd choice keeper in the draft.
Defenders:
- Ben Chilwell is an absolute lock on the wildcard, the Chelsea fullback is third amongst defenders this season for xGI (1.41) and the Blues also have an excellent fixture run.
Team | GW4 | GW5 | GW6 | GW7 | GW8 | GW9 |
Chelsea | NFO (H) | BOU (A) | AVL (H) | FUL (A) | BUR (A) | ARS(H) |
- Udogie picked up his first Premier League assist vs Bournemouth recording a 12-point haul, The Spurs fullback offers good assist potential along with CS possibility.
Team | GW4 | GW5 | GW6 | GW7 | GW8 | GW9 |
Spurs | BUR (A) | SHU (H) | ARS (A) | LIV (H) | LUT (A) | FUL(H) |
- Trippier and Newcastle have a good fixture swing from GW5 onwards and you can get him in early ahead of their fixture run. One con is that Botman could be out for a bit and Trippier could face competition from Livramento for the RB spot as they’ll be playing in UCL too this season.
Team | GW4 | GW5 | GW6 | GW7 | GW8 | GW9 |
Newcastle | BRI (A) | BRE (H) | SHU (A) | BUR (H) | WHU (A) | CRY(H) |
- Ruben Dias seems to be the best option from Man City defence and is an excellent option to consider on a FPL GW4 Wildcard draft. The Blues have conceded only one big chance and an xGC of 1.29 in the first three games which is the least in the league.
Attack:
- Maddison is 2nd amongst all players for non-penalty xGI(Expected goal involvement) amongst all players so far this season with an NPxGI of 2.89. His xA(Expected assists) of 1.64 is the 3rd highest amongst all players.
- Sterling registered a huge haul in GW3 against Luton Town scoring 2 goals, and picked up an assist as well totalling 19 points. He’s naturally the most transferred in player ahead of FPL GW4 and he’s a no-brainer option at 7.1 Million, Chelsea also have a great fixture run too which can be seen below!
- Sterling also has the most penalty box touches(35) amongst all players so far this season.
- Arsenal and Man United duo Saka and Bruno will play each other in GW4 but have excellent fixtures and are long-term holds, Bruno is 100% nailed on Pens and Saka too should take most of the penalties if not all. Bruno has the highest NPxGI amongst all players this season(3.1), he also has created the most big chances(4) in the PL, and himself had 3 big chances which shows his goal-scoring and assist potential.
Team | GW4 | GW5 | GW6 | GW7 | GW8 | GW9 |
Man City | FUL (H) | WHU (A) | NFO (H) | WOL (A) | ARS (A) | BHA(H) |
- Foden was unlucky not to start vs Sheffield due to health issues, he however still came on the closing stages of the game and got the assist for the game. Foden so far has created 11 chances in the Premier League which is the 3rd highest in the League.
- Jackson finally got his first PL goal and is an excellent long-term option, Only two players have recorded 5 big chances in the league so far, One is Haaland and the other is Jackson!

FPL GW4 Wildcard Draft 2
Structure: 3-4-3
- Ederson instead of Dias if you feel Dias might be rotated, and Henry for Flekken. Henry has already picked up an assist and is an attacking full-back who can be a long-term option. You can also alternatively go for Andersen who is the joint highest-scoring defender this season(22 points).
- Matty Cash scored two goals in GW3, returning a whopping 17 points. His xGI of 2.38 is the highest amongst defenders.
- Alvarez registered an xGI of 0.89 in GW3 which was 4th highest amongst forwards, he also had 8 shots which was the joint highest, same as Haaland, and created 4 chances vs Sheffield United. All the numbers show he was incredibly unlucky to not return in GW3. His 11 chances created so far this season is the 2nd highest amongst all players this season.
- You can also go with Diaby if you don’t want Bowen as a one-week punt.

FPL GW4 Wildcard Draft 3 with Mo Salah
Structure: 3-5-2
- Bowen has registered an xGI of 2.2 in the season so far and has 2 goals and an assist already this season. He also had a whopping three big chances in GW3 vs Brighton and will be up against Luton Town.
- Mo Salah has had a decent start to the season and recorded an excellent assist vs Newcastle as Liverpool won 2-1 after being down to 10 men for most of the game.

FPL GW4 Wildcard Draft 4
Structure: 3-5-2
Structure: 3-4-3
- Another 3-4-3 draft with Luis Diaz and Watkins in it, Luis Diaz is an excellent nailed option to cover for Liverpool’s attack. Watkins has also assisted in each of the three games and is a good long-term option
