Top FPL Gameweek 4 Captain Picks Based on Analysis & Metrics

The new Chelsea striker and my personal favourite Nicolas Jackson somehow managed to beat Erling Haaland (who was against Sheffield United) in the captaincy metrics and more surprisingly, also in binging FPL Points home too, which was very lucky with the Haaland penalty miss, but we will take it!

We are back with the Captaincy Metrics for FPL Gameweek 4 and it would be interesting to see if the Manchester City striker would be beaten again for the first time in two consecutive weeks.

The metrics had a 31/37 “returns record” last season and a 30/38 “returns record” in the 21/22 season. Do follow the man behind the metrics @AK_FPL1(Do follow him on Twitter)

This season the metrics has a 2/3 returns record with Jackson returning in GW3.

Note: “Returns” ~ player topping the metrics getting points returns and not necessarily the highest scoring option of the week.

Total metrics points: 44 points (26+4+14)

Conclusion – Final Rank from our FPL Gameweek 4 Captaincy metric analysis

Conclusion - Final Rank from our FPL Gameweek 4 Captaincy metric analysis

In the Fifth and Final Phase of the article, I have aggregated the Ranks derived above to pull out the Cumulative Rank Factor (CRF). The Candidate having the lowest Cumulative Rank Factor is the most ideal Captaincy Option according to this metric.

Unsurprisingly, Erling Haaland returns to be the best option this week, topping the table with a CRF value of 6.

Haaland is followed by Nicolas Jackson and Bryan Mbeumo who take the second place with a CRF value of 10 each.

Raheem Sterling takes the fourth place with a CRF value of 13. And lastly, James Maddison takes the last spot with a CRF value of 19.

Haaland tops the FPL GW4 Captaincy Metrics becoming the best captaincy choice according to our model
