FPL DGW29 Scout Picks

FPL DGW29 Scout Picks- Goalkeeper

FPL DGW29 Scout Picks- Goalkeeper

Jason Steele started for the first time in the premier league this season in GW26 and has been decent for Brighton. He’s surely the first choice goal keeper for Brighton at least in the short term which makes him an excellent pick for DGW29. In the last game against Palace, Steele made 3 saves, kept a clean sheet and got all 3 bonus for a 10 pts return. Overall in the three games he has played so far Steele has made 7 saves.

In the double this week, Steele faces Brentford and Bournemouth. Brighton have the 2nd best clean sheet odds this week with a 40% chance of clean sheet vs Brentford and a 48% chance of clean sheet against Bournemouth(via Drafthound).

FPL DGW29 Scout Picks- Defenders

FPL DGW29 Scout Picks- Defenders

Three full backs make the defence in our FPL DGW29 Scout picks selection and all three are exciting options. Ben Chilwell is probably the most exciting amongst all three of them.

FPL DGW29 Scout Picks ~ Chilwell

In the last three PL games since the switch in formation, Chilwell is second amongst Chelsea players for xGI(1.1) only behind Havertz and has had 4 shots inside the box along with a big chance. He has also made 9 key passes with an xA of 0.46 during the period. The wingback role fits Chilwell perfectly which can be seen his heatmap below.

Chilwell is also on corners duty which adds to his assist potential, he got an assist from a corner vs Leeds in GW26(Fofana header). All in all, he’s an excellent option to consider for the double.

FPL DGW29 Scout Picks ~ Shaw

Luke Shaw is back on our scout picks as the Man United defender is once again a popular option amongst managers. Shaw is the highest scoring defender in the game since the WC break registering 64 points, 6 more than Trippier having played a game less. Although the Newcastle away game is a bit tricky, he has a good potential for a CS against Brentford at home. Man United have a 28% odds of Clean sheet vs Newcastle and a 48% odds of clean sheet vs Brentford this week(via Drafthound).

Trippier rounds up the defensive selection with the Newcastle defender facing Man United and West Ham in the double. Although both could be tricky games, little needs to be said about Trippier’s chance creation and assist potential. Throughout the season he has registered 73 key passes which is 2nd with only KDB registering more, his 18 big chances created and a total xA of 9.4 is the 3rd best in the league.

FPL DGW29 Scout Picks- Midfielders

FPL DGW29 Scout Picks- Midfielders

Brighton as a team are really in good attacking form since the World Cup- Ranked 2nd for xG/90 and have scored 23 goals from 11 games which means not just one but two Brighton midfielders in our scout picks this week.

FPL DGW29 Scout Picks ~ Mac Allister

Mac Allister has 2 goals, and 1 assist from his last 3 games plus he’s also on penalties which is an added bonus. Since he started playing as a 10 in GW21, the World Cup winner has recorded 0.63 xG/90 which is the highest amongst all midfielders and 3rd highest overall during the period.

Brighton’s GW29 Opponents- Brentford and Bournemouth are ranked 14th and 20th for Chances conceded from the center since the World Cup break. Mac Allister is playing as a #10 getting in late into the box and gaining amazing goal-scoring positions.

FPL DGW29 Scout Picks ~ Mitoma

While Mac Allister has sintillating numbers, his teammate Mitoma has the eye test to back up his selection. The Japanese attacker is in great attacking form registering 5 goals and 4 assists since the restart(GW17). Mitoma could be particularly explosive against Bournemouth who have conceded 53 chances(Most since the WC amongst all teams) through their right flank which is where Mitoma operates.

FPL DGW29 Scout Picks ~ Maddison

Over the last 3 games, Maddison has only got an assist and a total of 7 points but his numbers are literally amongst the best during the period, xGI(2.3, 3rd amongst mids), Big chances created(4, highest amongst mids), key passes(10, 3rd amongst mids), xA(1.94, highest amongst mids). Safe to day he was unlucky not to haul!

He has a great double against Palace and Aston Villa who are ranked 19th and 18th respectively for xGC(Expected goals conceded) since the WC break and the elusive double digit haul might happen this week!

Man United duo Rashford and Bruno both make it to the scout picks with Rashford the captain this week on our scout picks. There is nothing much needed to justify picking Rashford, the Man United attacker has been in amazing fan and has registered 10 goals and 2 assists in the 12 games since the restart making him the joint highest scoring FPL player with a whopping 94 points.

FPL DGW29 Scout Picks ~ Rashford and Bruno Fernandes

Bruno has somewhat gone silent in the last few games with his last goal coming in GW22 against Crystal Palace. In the last six games period he has registered only a goal and 2 assists while registering an xGI of 0.8 per 90 which is the 3rd highest amongst all mids during the period. He always manages to do well in a double and will look to be back on the score sheet at the earliest.

Sabitzer who had an injury issue during the international break seems to have recovered and trained with the team on Thursday which means he should start enabling Bruno to continue in his attacking role.

FPL DGW29 Scout Picks- Forwards

Isak was one of the stars in BGW28 scoring a brace against Forest as he helped Newcastle win after going a goal done in the first half. In the games Isak has played so far this season and been on the pitch, Newcastle have scored 7 goals with Isak scoring 6 of them which shows his influence on the team.

FPL DGW29 Scout Picks ~ Isak

Over the last 4 games, he has scored 3 goals and is also confirmed to be on penalties after scoring one against Forest in BGW28. His 1.08 goal/90, 3.98 shots inside the box/90 and 8.31 points/90 in the last four games is also the highest amongst all forwards during the period.

Consistency is one word to perfectly define Watkins since Emery took over. The Aston Villa forward is relishing his role as the main man and in the last six games he has registered the highest xG amongst all players(4.3) and has scored 4 goals. He also has got 7 big chances in the last six games with only Haaland having more big chances(9) than him. Just like Maddison he’s been evading a double digit return and he has high chances to haul this week.

His away form is also impressive scoring a goal each in all four of Aston Villa’s last four away games. Aston Villa play both their doubles away from home in FPL DGW29!
