FPL Chip Strategy Guide with Key Notes for All The Chips

Now with only 7 gameweeks left before the end of the season, it’s time to relook at the FPL Chip Strategy for the remainder of the season. A lot of managers have different chips left at the moment and in this blog, we’ll look at the best/ideal gameweeks to play each chip and summarize the best chip combinations for the remainder of the season covering all possible scenarios.

2022/23 FPL Chip Strategy Explained

FPL Chip Usage till GW35:

Going into GW35: 38.63% of managers have used their Wildcard chip, 57.86% have used their Triple Captain chip, 49.78% have used their free hit chip, and 41.13% have used their bench boost chip in the overall sample.

In the Top 10K: 99.18% of managers have used their Wildcard chip, 97.98% have used their Triple Captain chip, 98.04% have used their free hit chip, and 98.59% have used their bench boost chip in the top 10K sample.

Key points to note about upcoming Double Gameweeks

There will be two double gameweeks from now till the end of the season – DGW36, and DGW37.

  • Brighton will have two DGWs(GW36 & GW37)
  • Man City & Man United will have one DGWs(GW37)
  • Newcastle will have one DGW(GW36)
  • Chelsea will have one DGW(GW37)

All scenarios and updates are added below and explained in detail.

Key points based on current info (Useful for planning)

  1. Brighton will surely double in GW36, and GW37. Two doubles for Brighton from GW36 to GW38.
  2. Man United will surely double in GW37. One double for Man United from GW36 to GW38.
  3. Man City will surely double in GW37. One double for Man City from GW36 to GW38.

Free Hit

FPL Chip Strategy ~ When to use Free Hit

The free hit chip was used by quite a few managers in GW34. For the managers that have the free hit left, GW36/37 is a double gameweek and you can play your free hit chip in this GW.

If you still have your bench boost chip then playing it in FPL GW37 is the best option(Four teams double).

Wildcard

For managers who have the Wildcard left, the most straightforward option is to use it now to maximize returns from it.

Triple Captain

FPL Chip Strategy  ~ When to use triple captain

Not a lot of managers have the triple captain chip left, but if you still have it don’t worry there are still a few good weeks/options to use it.

  • DGW36: Mitoma/Mac Allister/March vs Arsenal(A), Newcastle(A), Isak/Trippier/Wilson vs Leeds(A), Brighton(H)
  • DGW37: Haaland vs Chelsea(H), Brighton(A), Rashford vs Bournemouth(A), Chelsea(H)

  • FH Only: GW36/37
  • WC Only: GW36
