All Premier League Teams Predicted GW24 Lineups

Arsenal

The Gunners have managed only one point in their last 3 games and City have over taken Arsenal to be on Top of the league having played a game extra.

In the first game, Trossard scored his first goal for Arsenal in the 66th minute. Brentford’s Ivan Toney equalized minutes later from an offside position which the VAR officials “forgot” to check, a decision that could very well have a major impact on the title race. Arsenal lost 1-3 to City in the second game.

Partey missed the game vs City due to muscle discomfort and would be assessed later today. Smith Rowe will be back in the squad. Jesus is still ruled out.

Latest Partey/ESR update: Partey was not spotted with the team ahead of the Aston Villa game. ESR has been spotted with the team.

Arteta quotes from GW24 pre-game Press Conference via Arsenal website-

On Trossard

“He’s had an impact every time he’s been on the field, so he’s an option.”

On Partey injury

We have to assess him again today. He has some muscle discomfort and we have to see how he is.

On Smith Rowe and Jesus

Emile is training today and if he’s fine, he’ll be in the squad. Gabi is still not there.

Aston Villa

A decent season so far for Aston Villa seems to be turning on its head as they have now faced back-to-back defeats in the Premier League. Unai Emery’s side finds themselves mid-table with 28 points, three points clear on either side. Emery confirmed that Mings will be assessed before the game.

On Mings:

“He’s in the squad. He trained today and yesterday but we are going to assess tomorrow morning before the match. The last moment is going to be very important about the decision if he can start the game or not.”

On Diego Carlos:

We are so happy because he has started to train with us, but he needs time to be fit and confident to play.

On Bertrand Traore:

Bertrand Traoré has continued to train and will be in the squad.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth has not managed to register a win in their last 6 games and consequently are still finding it difficult to get out of the relegation zone with just 3 points clear of the bottom position after a 1-1 draw at home against Newcastle United. Fit-again Tavernier may come in for Traore/Anthony.

Updates on other injuries:

Brighton

Brighton was held by Crystal Palace away after scoring first. The Seagulls are now unbeaten in their last 5 Premier League games and still have a great chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season. Lallana is ruled out for months. Ferguson could give Undav a close call for the starting striker slot.

Brentford

Brentford seems to be putting on a beautiful little run after a 1-1 away draw against Arsenal. The Bees have now managed to remain unbeaten in their last 10 Premier League games.

Ivan Toney managed to equalise in the 74th minute under controversial circumstances. The forward was the target of a flurry of racial abuse. Brentford released the following statement on the club’s website:

Immediately after Brentford’s game against Arsenal, Ivan Toney received a barrage of abusive, racist direct messages via his Instagram account. We are disgusted and saddened that Ivan has had to deal with this yet again. We will not tolerate it and we will do everything we can to pursue the individuals involved.

Brentford PC/Injury Update:

Thomas Strakosha is set to miss the game this weekend with an ankle injury while Pontus Jansson and Frank Onyeka are both out with hamstring injuries. But they are likely to be back for Brentford’s match against Fulham on March 6.

Frank confirmed that Ivan Toney is fit and will be available for selection against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Chelsea

The Blues once again are really finding it difficult to get a win as Graham Potter’s side comes out with one point against West Ham away drawing 1-1. Joao Felix scored his first goal for Chelsea only to be equalised 12 minutes later.

The result was overshadowed by a controversial decision right toward the end of the game when Chelsea was denied a penalty by VAR. This decision possibly denied Chelsea a win as they find themselves with only one win in their last 5 Premier League games.

Graham Potter on the VAR decision via NBC Sports:

I think it was one of those situations where if it was given I don’t think there’d be too many complaining, but it’s a fine call.

Reece James to miss FPL GW24 game vs Southampton

No James means Azpi or Chalobah could play RB and the absence of Cucurella would mean either Chilwell or Hall will play in the LB position. Chilwell is just back from injury and played 60 mins vs Dortmund in the UCL game midweek.

Chelsea PC/Injury Update:

Latest Update: Reece James is not in the squad and is rested for the Southampton game. No Thiago Silva, Ziyech and Cucurella as well for Chelsea.

Potter quotes from GW24 pre-match press conference via Chelsea website

On Sterling

‘It’s positive,’. ‘We’re going to train later on this afternoon, so providing they come through that okay there’s a good chance they’ll be in the squad.

On Chilwell

‘With Ben the challenge for us at the moment is managing his return. He had 30 minutes against West Ham, 60 minutes against Dortmund, so the decision will be based on how he recovers today and how he reports.

‘So we’ll make that call probably tonight or tomorrow, as to the extent that he can play, but it’s certainly something we have to be mindful of.’

Crystal Palace

The Eagles have not managed a win in their last 5 games after a 1-1 draw at home against Brighton. Tomkins scored their only goal from their only shot on target.

If Hughes misses out due to the knock, Sambi could come into his place.

Crystal Palace PC/Injury Update:

The Eagles will be missing Wilfried Zaha, who is currently out due to a hamstring injury. Joel Ward is also still out due to a calf issue.

Patrick Vieira in the press conference ahead of their match against Brentford.

On Zaha and Ward

“Wilfried, still a couple of weeks before he can start training with the team. Wardy will start training with the team next Monday.”

On James McArthur:

“Macca is still progressing well. He had another really good week with the team, so he will be part of the squad.”

Everton

A glimmer of hope seemed to have sparked after Everton’s 1-0 win against Arsenal last weekend but that doesn’t seem to be the case this weekend after a 2-0 loss in the Merseyside Derby. Simms was preferred over Gray and Maupay for the striker role.

Sean Dyche confirmed that DCL is ruled out for the GW24 Leeds game. He also mentioned that Patterson will be involved with the under-21 teams to improve match fitness.

Everton PC/Injury Updates:

Sean Dyche quotes from Pre-match press conference via Everton website

On Dominic Calvert Lewin

“The root of the problem is pretty easy from a medical side of things,” “Now it’s just a case of time.”While he’s out, we want him to do work to strengthen the whole body, not just the injured site. “That’s the process to go through for a player being injured and getting them back on the pitch when they’re fully fit and clear. But then they will still need some training days.

“Because when you train under control with physios, it’s a different type of training. But when you train with the first team, it’s reactive. You have to react and be proactive.

“You can control different ways of coming back from injuries, when bodies are free and clear, getting that natural movement pattern. That can take a bit of time. He [Dom] hasn’t been out that long, so you’d hope that would happen quite quickly.”

On Patterson and Garner

Patterson played for the u21s on Friday night, there is a chance he's back for GW25
Patterson played for the u21s on Friday night, there is a chance he’s back for GW25

“A couple of the lads will play tomorrow, which I am going to watch”

“Jimmy will play tomorrow, and Pato (Nathan Patterson) will play as well. So I will get over and watch them for the first time.

“They are not there yet, but they have been on the grass with us. Next is to put it into game practice.”

Fulham

From good to better for Fulham as they follow a draw at Stamford Bridge with a 2-0 win over Forest at home. Silva reported that Willian had a knock, Mitrovic had an issue and will be assessed.

Fulham PC/Injury Update:

Marco Silva on Injuries

“As you know, we have another session tomorrow, we have to see some knocks from the last game, we have to keep assessing some players. Let’s see if we have all of them available, probably yes – apart from Tom Cairney and Neeskens Kebano.

“Robinson was a little ill at the beginning of the week, looks in better condition. Willian had a knock, Mitro had an issue, as well. Let’s see how they are going to be tomorrow.”

Leeds United

After a 2-0 defeat against Manchester United at home, Leeds United now find themselves without a win and only two points in their last 5 league games. They are currently in 17th position only one point clear off the relegation zone. Skuballa mentioned in the pre-match presser that Cooper and Roca could be back from injury and could feature in GW24 vs Everton.

Pascal Struijk has been back in training following his concussion which is a positive.

Liam Cooper and Marc Roca are touch and go, they’re not far off and we could see them on Saturday.

“We don’t want to take any risks with any players at this moment, but they are a couple who could be back.”

Leicester City

The Foxes were cunning (pun intended) against Spurs as they gave them a proper 4-1 beating at home. Leicester took a 2-0 lead within the first 15 minutes of the game and from there on, it was their game to lose. They are now unbeaten in their last 3 league games and are starting to find a little stability.

On Tielemans and Soumare:

Both are good. Bouba’s trained all week. Youri is back in training too, so both are available for the game. Everyone’s clearing up now. The squad’s looking strong.

On James Maddison and Jonny Evans:

James is fine. He’s trained well. [Evans is] still a bit of time away. We were hoping he’d be back but he’s still struggling a wee bit with his thigh.

Liverpool

The gameweek concluded with the Merseyside Derby that saw “Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool” getting the better of their rivals 2-0 at home. Cody Gakpo scored his first goal for the Reds while Salah scored the second. VVD was an unused substitute, but could come back into the 11 as per Klopp’s comments.

Cody Gakpo opens up after the match (via goal.com):

It feels amazing to get my first goal in this game – also an important one. I’m really happy. It was amazing. Obviously for a striker it’s always nice to score and then also in a derby is a really great feeling. It’s always difficult to come out of the dressing room, and if we start off with a goal, that’s amazing. It was a good pressing situation from us – Robbo [with a] good one-two with Hendo, Mo on the ball, a good cross, little deflected, but I was there at the second post.

On VVD’s fitness to start this weekend against Newcastle:

I think so. Yesterday he looked absolutely ready. I think today he will look the same and then we make a decision.

On Konate, Diaz and Thiago:

Ibou not yet, Luis not yet but that’s it pretty much. Nothing happened on the injury side. Thiago, not available.

On Calvin Ramsay being sidelined for the rest of the season:

Yeah, that’s what I heard.

Manchester City

Manchester City has taken it up a notch since their defeat against Tottenham in GW23. They have won their last 2 Premier League games 3-1 and 3-1 against Aston Villa at home and Arsenal away. Having closed the gap in terms of points with Arsenal, they are now back at the top of the league table on goal difference.

In both games, Bernando Silva started as a left back with Akanji not starting both the games. There could be a rotation in the back 4 with the UCL midweek game in mind after the GW24 match vs Forest.

On John Stones’ fitness:

He’s getting better… Tomorrow? No (he will not play).

Manchester United

The Red Devils win 2-0 over Leeds United away from home as Rashford nets another goal. He finds himself in a purple patch and was able to capitalize on an opportunity as the game opened up during the final 10 minutes with the wonderkid, Garnacho netting the second.

David de Gea made his 400th appearance for the club, the only non-British player to have made as many appearances for a club in the Premier League and it couldn’t have gone better for him as he managed to keep a clean sheet in his 400th cap.

Manchester United GW24 Predicted formation:

Manchester United GW24 Predicted lineup:

Newcastle United

Being in a great position to qualify for the Champions League next season, Newcastle is unbeaten in their last 5 games. They are finding it difficult to convert it into a win with 4 out of their last 5 games ending in a draw. This draw means that they have been involved in 11 draws this season so far.

The Magpies might have found themselves with 0 points at the end of the game if not for a brilliant goal-line clearance from the Newcastle right-back, Kieran Trippier. He kept his cool right towards the end of the game to clear the ball from danger and ensure his side a valuable point.

Howe confirmed in the pre-game press conference that Willock is a “doubt”, but Saint Maximin and Almiron are back in training. Wilson is likely to train today and be in contention for the GW24 vs Liverpool.

Newcastle United PC/Injury Update:

Eddie Howe- GW24 pre-match press conference quotes via Newcastle Twitter

On Wilson

“Callum’s done really well. It was a very minor complaint for him. He hasn’t trained yet and we hope he trains today and that he’s in contention.”

On Almiron and Saint Maximin

“They’ve been back training (this week) and they’re fine.”

On Joe Willock

“We haven’t seen him yet and think he’ll be doubtful for tomorrow’s game. I don’t think it’s a big injury at all, a very minor complaint with his hamstring, so we hope to get him back very quickly.”

Nottingham Forest

Forest found themselves on the wrong side of the 2-0 scoreline against Fulham this weekend. Steve Cooper confirmed in the pre-match press conference that Scott McKenna is ruled out for six weeks while centre back Boly is ruled out for close to 3 months. Lingard is a doubt for the weekend due to niggles.

Taiwo Awoniyi, Yates, Lingard, and Dean Henderson are out as well with Boly and Mckenna adding to the injury list from GW23.

Southampton

It is getting from bad to worse for Southampton as they find themselves on the wrong side of a scoreline once again this season. They were bettered on the day by Wolves who themselves are trying to turn their season around 1-2.

It is fair to say that Nathan Jones didn’t quite get the hang of the job and unsurprisingly, he gets the sack. The coach-turned-manager, Ruben Selles will oversee the transition before the appointment of new personnel.

On injuries:

Juan Larios and Tino Livramento are still out. Che Adams is a doubt for the game.

On Nathan Jones getting the sack:

I don’t want to make any judgement on the club’s decision [on Jones]. I’ve been here for two managers and when they sack someone it’s hard for everybody.

Spurs

Tottenham was thrashed by the Foxes as Leicester managed to score 4 past the Spurs’ defense. Spurs are finding it difficult to thread a good run with 3 wins and 2 losses in their last 5 games.

This is what the South Korean international Heung-min Son had to say post-match (via goal.com):

I wouldn’t say we are confident, but words are not enough. We just have to go there and show on the pitch, that’s the most important thing. I can stand here and speak all day but the most important thing is on the pitch. We have to be as a unit and we have to be all together in the same way. Of course, it will be really tough, don’t get me wrong. We have to be more than ready, more than 100 percent.

Romero will be back from suspension and should be back in the eleven right away. Bentancur injury means that it will be a direct fight between Sarr/Skipp for that slot.

Spurs GW24 Predicted formation:

Spurs GW24 Predicted lineup:

Spurs Injury/PC News

Stellini fills in for Antonio Conte, who is recovering from his surgery in Italy (via Football London).

Injury updates:

No, no new injuries. We have a problem with [Ryan] Sessegnon which was clear from the last game that Sessegnon was not in the squad. Now at the moment he is not available and not any news.

On squad selection:

Every time when you pick the team, you have to leave someone on the bench and normally it is not important the player you have to maybe leave on the bench, it is about the team that has to play. It is important also that some important players stay on the bench their effort when they come in. This is very important.

On leaving out Sarr or Skipp to be replaced by Hojbjerg:

We will take this decision thinking about the game. The details of the game will be so important, so the decision we will take is about the game and the characteristics of the opponent and what we need from our players and the type of game we expect to play.

West Ham

Needing to have to come from 1-0 down, having less possession of the ball and a very late controversial VAR decision that could’ve gone against them, West Ham managed to come out with a 1-1 draw against Chelsea at home. This result keeps the Hammers just 2 points clear of the relegation zone.

West Ham GW24 Predicted formation

3-4-2-1

West Ham GW24 Predicted lineup:

Fabianski

Antonio

West Ham PC/Injury Updates:

David Moyes in the press conference ahead of their match against Tottenham (via West Ham United website).

On Paqueta:

Lucas Paquetá is not going to be available for the game.

On Aguerd:

Nayef has got a chance but we’re not sure yet if he is going to make it or not.

On Scamacca:

It’s also great that Gianluca is back, but he is nowhere near ready to play, or nowhere near ready to be selected. I might try to involve him but I have to say that it would be minimum minutes because he’s just back with us.

On Maxwel Cornet:

We’re looking forward to getting Maxwel back. It seems like it’s been a long time that we’ve not had him. We’re due him back in next Monday but whether that means training, or building him back up. We’re certainly going to need time to build him back up, that’s for sure.

Wolves

Down to the 10 men after another controversial decision this weekend, Wolves managed to come back from 1-0 down to win 2-1 away against Southampton. Bueno impressed while coming on in the second half and could just start over Ait Nouri.

Wolves skipper Ruben Neves spoke to BBC Sport after the match on the red card that sent Lemina off after just 27 minutes (via goal.com):

You really want to know what he told me? So he told me there were two players running to him and because Mario was the third one he gave him a yellow card. So now we go and check the rules, if there is any.

Wolves GW24 Predicted formation:

4-2-3-1

Wolves GW24 Predicted lineup:

Sa

Semedo – Dawson – Kilman – Bueno

Gomes – Neves

Sarabia – Moutinho – Nunes

Cunha

Wolves PC/Injury Update:

Julen Lopetegui in the press conference ahead of their match against Bournemouth.

On the players available for selection this weekend:

Lemina is out, but I think Danny [Podence] is closer to coming back with us. We have the long-time injuries and we haven’t had any problems with the rest of the players, but they all have to be ready, and after, we are going to choose the best line-up for each match.

On altering his starting XI:

Sometimes you have to adapt from one idea and choose in each match the best line-up and the best idea for each match, because each match is different. We have one idea to play in each match, but because every match is different, we have to change the little details to overcome the opponent. The players have the possibilities to play in different ways, but all the ways to play are good if you are able to develop in a good way.
