FPL GW20 Scout Picks

FPL GW20 Scout Picks- Goalkeeper

Manchester City are the only team to have 2 confirmed Double Gameweek over the next 4 Gameweeks- 6 matches from 4 GWs. City all have the Best xGC(12.38) in the league. And Ederson is the only player from the defense who will play all the 6 matches. Even though it’s a boring pick, over the next 4 weeks it should pay dividends. All the other defensive options- Stones, Ake, Akanji, Cancelo, Laporte, Walker, Lewis are all rotation risks while Ederson is surely not.

FPL GW20 Scout Picks- Defenders

Luke Shaw(£5.1 million) has been a brilliant asset since the restart registering 32 points(The highest amongst all players since the restart) with three clean sheets, one goal, and 8 out of a possible 9 bonus points. He’s currently still owned by only 14.2% of managers and has a Double Gameweek against Man City(H) and Palace(A). He’s also a great long-term option with Manchester United potentially having a double in GW22 at home to Palace and Leeds.

Shaw also generally plays well in the big games for both Man United and England. He even got a goal(14 points) against Man City in the 20/21 season when Man united won 2-0, this was also the last time Man united won the Manchester derby. His other opponent Palace are second worst in Open Play xG this season. So there are good chances of a clean sheet too in the second game.

FPL’s third-highest-scoring player overall and the highest-scoring defender with 122 points is becoming a constant in our scout picks. He has blanked only once in the last 13 games. Newcastle face Fulham at home and have a 44% chance of a clean sheet, At home Newcastle has kept a clean sheet in 6/9 games and have conceded the 2nd lowest goals(5), and 2nd lowest xGC(5.1).

Trippier offers both attacking and defensive returns and has the most bonus(25) and second-highest BPS score(528) amongst all players. He’s a no-brainer pick in the FPL GW20 scout picks.

Perisic is the final pick in defense. Spurs have just one cleansheet from the last 8 games conceding 15 goals in the process. But Perisic features here for his attacking returns. Perisic(0.38) has the Best Expected Goal Involvement(xGI/90) among defenders this season- Even ahead of Trippier(0.32). In games against Arsenal and City where there will be a lot of goals, expect Perisic to be involved.

FPL GW20 Scout Picks- Midfielders

Marcus Rashford is surely in the form of his life, since club football resumed after the World cup break he has scored in all three Premier league games picking up 27 points(3G+A), the record is even better in all competitions having scored 7 goals since the restart.

This also makes him a great captaincy choice, he could have a big haul, especially against Palace who have conceded the most goals(7) since the league resumed, Man city have also looked ordinary and Rashford will surely be fancying himself to score again in the derby.

De Bruyne has not returned since the Post World Cup restart in GW17. But his underlying numbers are still good- Top for Big chances created(4), Top for Chances created(12), Top for successfull crosses(8) since GW17. He also accumulated a nPxGI of 1.93 from last 3 matches which is the 4th highest. He has been unlucky not to return so far. Maybe a big haul is round the corner when ‘Big Game De Bruyne’ steps up against United and Spurs.

Also a Gentle reminder that De Bruyne scored 30 points in the Double Gameweek 36 last season– Which is the fourth highest ever in a Gameweek in FPL History.

Rodrigo and Mitoma are the only Single Gameweek attacking players in FPL GW20 Scout Picks. Both players are in excellent form, have good fixture runs too. They are up against Villa and Liverpool in GW20 who are ranked 18th and 19th for Big Chances conceded over the last 6 matches(see below image). FPL GW20 Scout Picks- Forwards

21 Premier League goals from 18 games is just insane. He is a no-brainer. Double Gameweek is just a added bonus. As expected, Haaland’s underlying stats are also really good. Haaland has been rested in both the cup games(didnt start) and will also be fresh. The last time he faced Manchester United, he got 3 goals, 2 assists fetching 23 points in FPL GW9. His other GW20 opponent Spurs are 2nd worst for conceding chances through the center in the league(see below image)

Harry Kane has been having a wonderful FPL season with 15 goals, 4 assists, 127 points- Just 17 points behind Haaland. With a Double Gameweek in GW20, he should be one of the Priority transfers along with De Bruyne. On paper, his DGW20 fixtures are difficult- Arsenal(H), City(A). But he loves to scores in these big games and has a good record against them historically in Premier League.

• 14 goals, 2 assists from 16 games vs Arsenal
• 4 goals, 3 assists from 12 games vs Manchester City

Martial is the final pick with our FPL GW20 Scout Picks. He has been really good(whenever he is fit) this season and comes in at a handy price of just 6.6 million. With another likely Double Gameweek in GW22 for United, he is a good budget option.
