Manchester City

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Man City

Starting us off are last year’s champions, Manchester City. City’s next few fixtures are looking really good, and at least a double on their assets is slowly becoming essential. From gameweek 13 onwards, they play Brighton (H), Leicester City (A), Fulham (H) and Brentford (H). Here are the players you can target from Manchester City:

Erling Haaland, £12.1 Million

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Haaland

The most obvious pick from Manchester City is this year’s top goalscorer Erling Haaland. Owned by 81.2% of players, if you don’t already have Haaland in your team, what are you doing? He already has 104 points for the season with 15 goals and 3 assists.

He currently has an xGi of 10.48 and averages around 9.14 touches in the box per 90. He has also had 44 attempts on goal, with 41 coming from inside the box and 25 being on target. He has scored 11 out of 18 big chances and is on penalties too.

He also has decent assist potential. He already has three assists this season and has created ten chances and six big chances.

Phil Foden, £8.3 Million

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Foden

From the highest-scoring striker to the highest-scoring midfielder, the next player on our list is Phil Foden. Selected by 21.1% of managers, Foden has scored 64 points this season, courtesy of his six goals and four assists.

He has an xGi of 5.08 this season and averages around 6.39 touches in the penalty box per 90. He has had 20 attempts at goal, with 18 from inside the box and 12 on target. He has also created 18 chances and 3 big chances this season. He is also sharing corner duty.

Haaland and Foden are essential players from gameweek 13 onwards, and it is a double that many managers would be targeting.

João Cancelo, £7.3 Million

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Cancelo

The last Manchester City player on the list is Joao Cancelo. The Portuguese international has amassed 63 points this season, second in the defenders only behind Trippier. Chosen by 53.8% of managers, he has scored two goals and assisted once while keeping five clean sheets.

He averages around 60.9 touches in the opponent’s half, 33.8 touches in the final third and 3.5 touches in the penalty box per 90.

He has also had ten shots this season, with four of them coming from inside the box. He is yet to create a single big chance this season, but has created nine chances.

Is Cancelo on your list of players to target from gameweek 13 onwards?

Honourable mentions: Kevin De Bruyne

If you don’t have value tied in Cancelo then a triple-up on KDB, Foden, and Haaland is also equally exciting. Man City have all but secured the top spot in the UCL group so the key trio will get rests in the UCL games and would be most likely to start all four games between FPL GW13-16.

Arsenal

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Arsenal

The next team on our list of teams to target from gameweek 13 onwards are this season’s league leader, Arsenal. Their fixtures from gameweek 13 onwards look like this: Southampton (A), Nottingham Forest (H), Chelsea (A) and Wolves (A).

Gabriel Martinelli, £6.7 Million

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Martinelli

The first player to target from Arsenal is Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli. Priced at just 6.7 million, he is cheaper than other top midfielders like Saka, Maddison, Bowen and Foden. He has scored four goals and given three assists so far this season. Currently owned by 46.2% of managers, he has scored 58 points this season.

He has an xGi of 4.88 this season and averages around 7.11 touches in the penalty box per 90. He has had 27 attempts at goal, with 17 from inside the box and 11 on target. He has also created 21 chances and four big chances this season. He is also sharing corner duty.

Bukayo Saka, £7.9 Million

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Saka

The next Arsenal player on the list is their highest-scoring midfielder, Bukayo Saka. Owned by 14.9% of managers, he has scored 63 points this season with four goals and five assists till now. Saka is currently priced at 7.9 million.

He has an xGi of 5.78 this season and averages around 6.4 touches in the penalty box per 90. He has had 25 attempts at goal, with 20 from inside the box and nine on target. He has also created 20 chances and one big chance this season. He is also sharing corner duty and penalty duty.

Saka had a slow start to the season registering three assists in the first five games during a period in which Arsenal scored 13 goals. This was mainly due to White starting at RB instead of Tomiyasu, White has since then improved very much in the RB role and made the spot his own. Since GW6 Saka has a remarkable improvement in his stats and heatmap seen below, he has scored 4 goals and 2 assists between GW6 and 12 in spite of playing Liverpool, Spurs and Man United in 3/5 games.

William Saliba £5.1 million/White £4.5 Million

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Saliba

The last Arsenal player on the list is William Saliba. The youngster has solidified his place in Mikel Arteta’s team this season and has been impressive so far for the Gunners this season.

Owned by 29.4% of managers, Saliba has scored 51 points this season courtesy of two goals, one assist, and four clean sheets.

He averages around 11.9 touches in the opponent’s half, two touches in the final third and 0.7 touches in the penalty box per 90.

He has also had three shots this season, all coming from inside the box. He has created one big chance and two chances this season.

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Ben White

Do note Saliba is on four yellow cards, one away from suspension. He’s also at 5.1 Million so if you’re looking at an alternate defender from Arsenal, Ben White is the best choice. He’s played every game this season and has improved considerably in the RB role from an attacking perspective, this has also released Saka to be more attacking(Refer to heatmaps below)

Ben White heatmap from GW6-12 Left and GW1-5 right
Ben White average position in GW1-5 Left and GW6-12 right

Honourable mentions: Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel

Jesus is also on four yellows and one away from suspension, hence the reason he’s on this segment of the blog. Gabriel(£5.1 Million) is expensive like Saliba and White is a better option. Ramsdale(£4.9 Million) could also do the job in goal if you don’t want any defenders.

Liverpool

Despite not having a good start to the season, the next few fixtures are looking good for Liverpool. The fixtures from FPL gameweek 13 onwards for Liverpool are: Nottingham Forest (A), Leeds United (H), Spurs (A) and Southampton (H). Here are some players you can target from Liverpool:

Mohamed Salah, £12.8 Million

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Salah

Salah has had a pretty disappointing season so far. Last year’s FPL hero has scored only 3 goals and given four assists this season. Priced at 12.8 million, he is yet to justify his price tag. But with a good run of fixtures, could we see him get back to form?

He has an xGi of 6.7 this season and averages around 8.3 touches in the penalty box per 90. He has had 32 attempts at goal, with 25 from inside the box and 10 on target. He has also created 27 chances and two big chances this season. Of course, he is also on penalty duty for Liverpool.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, £7.2 Million

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Trent Alexander Arnold

Just like Salah, Trent also hasn’t had a good start to his premier league season. He has scored one, assisted one and has been able to keep only two clean sheets. But with favourable fixtures coming up, if you jump on him early he can turn out to be a brilliant differential in the upcoming gameweeks.

He averages around 57.3 touches in the opponent’s half, 28.8 touches in the final third and two touches in the penalty box per 90.

He has also had twelve shots this season, with five coming from inside the box. He has created three big chance and eighteen chances this season.

Roberto Firmino, £8.1 Million

Bobby Firmino, as known among the loyal supporters of Liverpool, has found form again and is a shinning star in the disappointing Liverpool team. Owned by 9% of managers, Firmino is currently priced at 8.1 million.

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Firmino

Firmino has scored six goals and assisted thrice till now this season.

He currently has an xGi of 5.01 and averages around 7.94 touches in the box per 90. He has also had 24 attempts on goal, with 21 coming from inside the box and 15 being on target. He has scored 4 out of 7 big chances and is on penalties too.

He also has decent assist potential. He already has three assists this season and has created thirteen chances and three big chances. Is he part of your plans for gamweek 13 and onwards?

Darwin Nunez £8.8 Million

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Nunez

Nunez has had a difficult start to his Liverpool career but he’s slowly but surely proving his worth. he bagged his first goal in Anfield in a 1-0 win over West Ham and was impressive overall registering six shots in his 53 minutes on the pitch, he turned an xG of 0.46 into a xGOT of 1.07. xGOT is expected goal on target, basically, his shooting gave him a much better chance of scoring than would be expected.

Nunez converted an 0.07 xG cross into a O.55 xGOT thanks to his positioning and scored the only goal of the game vs West Ham. Data from Fotmob app
Liverpool attack numbers from from FPL GW10-12

In the last three games, he’s had more shots, shots on target, shots inside the box, xG and goals than any other Liverpool attacker even though he’s played considerably lesser minutes than the likes of Salah, Firmino.

Honourable mentions: Andy Robertson, Fábio Carvalho and Joe Gomez

Tottenham Hotspur

The next team on our list is Tottenham Hotspurs, who also have a good run of fixtures coming up. They play: Newcastle United (H), Bournemouth (A), Liverpool (H) and Leeds United (H). Here are some players you can target from Spurs:

Harry Kane, £11.5 Million

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Kane

First player on our list is England captain, Harry Kane. Kane has had a great start to the season, scoring nine times and assisting twice. Priced at 11.5 million, he is currently owned by 23.2% of players.

He currently has an xGi of 8.7 and averages around 5.5 touches in the box per 90. He has also had 41 attempts on goal, with 31 coming from inside the box and 22 being on target. He has scored 8 out of 12 big chances and is on penalties too.

He also has decent assist potential. He already has two assists this season and has created twenty-one chances and four big chances.

Ivan Perisic, £5.5 Million

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Perisic

The next player on the list of players you can target from gameweek 13 onwards is Ivan Perisic. Perisic is yet to consolidate his position in the squad and hence is a risky pick due to the high chance of rotation.

The Croatian has given three assists already this season and if he can cement his place in the squad, he can really excel in this Spurs squad.

He averages around 33.48 touches in the opponent’s half, 26.8 touches in the final third and five touches in the penalty box per 90.

He has also had five shots this season, with all of them coming from inside the box. He has created three big chances and sixteen chances this season.

Alternative Spurs defenders:

Matt Doherty is close to the form he showed under Conte in the closing stages of last season and should retain his place in the starting 11 even though Emerson Royal is back now from his 3-game suspension. At £4.6 Million he’s a good punt, but there will be rotation inevitably as the Spurs UCL group is still wide open.

Eric Dier is a safer rotation-free asset to consider from Spurs defence with a good aerial threat. He’s already scored 2 headers and could be a safer option at £5.3 Million.

Honourable mentions: Son Heung-min and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

Crystal Palace

Currently tenth in the table, Palace have had a pretty decent start to the season. With favourable fixtures coming up, we could see them build on this. Their next fixtures look something like this: Everton (A), Southampton (H), West Ham (A) and Nottingham Forest (A). Here are players you can target from Palace from gameweek 13 onwards:

Wilfred Zaha, £7.5 Million

Team and Players to Target from FPL GW13 ~ Zaha

Wilfred Zaha has had a pretty good start to this season and will be looking to build on it with good fixtures from gameweek 13 onwards. He has five goals and one assist so far this season. Priced at 7.5, he is currently owned by 22.8% of managers.

He has an xGi of 4.65 this season and averages around 7.12 touches in the penalty box per 90. He has had 26 attempts at goal, with 21 from inside the box and 12 on target. He has also created 11 chances and two big chances this season. Of course, he is also on penalty duty for Crystal Palace.

Eze, £5.6 Million

Team and Players to Target from FPL Gameweek 13 ~ Eze

Palace star Eze could be a very good alternative to Zaha if you’re looking at cheaper options. Eze has pretty much matched Zaha in the last few weeks and is a great option to consider at just £5.6 million. He’s played every game this season and is also rotation proof just like Zaha.

Zaha vs Eze in the last three games:

Eze vs Zaha from FPL GW10-12

In the last three games, Eze has had similar numbers to Zaha and has outscored him by 7 points, the only drawback is that if you go Eze over Zaha you’ll be missing out on the penalties as Zaha is the penalty taker for Palace.

Marc Guéhi, £4.4 Million

Marc Guehi is a nailed starter for Crystal Palace and is priced at only 4.4 million currently. His ownership is also very low (3.7%), making him a great differential for the coming round of fixtures.

He averages around 8.6 touches in the opponent’s half, 1.8 touches in the final third and 0.8 touches in the penalty box per 90.

He has also had four shots this season, all of them coming from inside the box. He has created one big chance and two chances this season.

With low ownership and chance of a clean sheet, could we see Guehi becoming an important part of many more teams?

Honourable mentions: Joachim Anderson, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise

West Ham

The last team on our list of players and teams to target is West Ham. Currently, 13th in the table, West Ham have had a slow chance to their season, but will be looking to improve on that with easier round of fixtures coming up. Here are players you can target from West Ham:

Jarrod Bowen, £8.2 Million

Team and Players to Target from FPL Gameweek 13 ~ Bowen

Despite not having a very good start to the season, Bowen is quickly making up ground and trying to get back to his top form before the Qatar World Cup.

Priced at 8.2 million, he is currently owned by only 5.4% of managers. He has scored twice and assisted once this season.

He has an xGi of 5.28 this season and averages around 5.13 touches in the penalty box per 90. He has had 28 attempts at goal, with 21 from inside the box and 6 on target. He has also created 16 chances and one big chance this season. He is also on penalty duty and corner duty for West Ham.

Scamacca, £6.8 Million

In the last four games, Scamacca is nearly matching Bowen in terms of underlying numbers and points. Scamacca has had more shots on goal, shots inside the box, and big chances than Bowen. He could be a good third-striker option. But the only con is Bowen is on penalties, although he did miss the one against Liverpool in GW12.

West Ham Defence:

West Ham defence could also be a good option, but there’s been heavy rotation involved currently with Zouma(£4.5 Million) and Kehrer(£4.5 Million) the only two safe options to consider.

Other set of players and teams to target from FPL GW13-16

  • Toney(£7.4 Million) ~ Three good games for Brentford and Toney is a good option who’s already popular amongst the managers who wildcarded earlier. Great numbers amongst all forwards as seen above from GW9-12
  • Mitrovic(£6.8 Million) ~ Next two games are goos before two tricky games against Man United and Man City. Good short-term option.
  • Solanke (£5.8 Million) ~ Not so tough but not so easy fixtures for Solanke, good value at his price.
  • Everton Defence ~ Pickford, Tarkowski both (£4.5 Million) No games against the top 6 makes Everton defence a good option to invest.
  • Chelsea ~ Mount(£7.7 Million), Kepa(£4.5 Million) ~ Tight run of fixtures but Kepa offers sav points as well and a decent option to consider. Mount is probably the only rotation-proof Chelsea attacker.
  • Newcastle ~ Trippier, Pope, Almiron, Schar/Botman ~ Newcastle are down below here because of the fact that everyone ones at least one Pope/Trippier. A double-up on their defence is also decent but the fixtures look tricky on paper. Almiron at £5.3 Million offers insane value if you want a cheap 4th/5th midfielder.

We hope this article helped you choose your next set of players!
