Best UCL Fantasy Differentials to Consider for MD2 | 22/23 Season

We go again for MD2 of #UCLFantasy already, which means we are back for another UCL Fantasy Differentials blog, but first, I would like to THANK YOU – the readers, for being back, I was really humbled and grateful for all the love and support the UCL Fantasy MD1 Differentials blog got last week.

I love putting in the research and trying my best to give you readers a unique perspective when it comes to playing the #UCLFantasy game which we all love and adore. Now let’s focus on today’s topic: UCL Fantasy MD2 Differentials.

In this article, I will talk about the best UCL Fantasy MD2 Differentials less than 10% owned and hopefully unearth some hidden gems who will help propel your teams to get those massive returns and rank boosts in MD2.

MD1 of UCL Fantasy saw quite a few UCL Fantasy Differentials doing very well, the likes of Marco Reus 7.5M and Steven Bergwijn 7M banging in the goals for their respective teams.

Looking forward to MD2 there are some notably good match-ups to target, In my opinion on paper, the PSG vs Maccabi Haifa & Man City vs Dortmund can be a great source of points.

UCL Fantasy MD2 Differentials (<10% TSB)

Ivan Perišić~Tottenham Hotspur, 6M, TSB: 7%

UCL Fantasy MD 2 Perisic
Perišić could do well in MD2 on the first day

Me and Ivan have a love-hate relationship, I used to hate him torment AC Milan back in his Inter days but loved him playing for Croatia, Bayern Munich & now Spurs.

Perišić is all that you look for in an attacking full-back/wing-back these days and now at Spurs we are finally starting to see the Ivan of old.

This season Perišić has had 3 starts in the Premier League and has already contributed 2 assists at an xA of 1.4 and in the only UCL game he played he gave the assist for the Richarlison’s winner in MD1.

Spurs will be looking to take charge of their group after winning on MD1 and Ivan Perišić could again play a key role in getting the win at Sporting Lisbon in MD2.

At just 7% ownership, he can be one of your UCL Fantasy Differentials especially given the fact that he plays on Tuesday of MD2.

Lautaro Martinez~ Inter Milan, 8.5M, TSB: 3%

UCL Fantasy MD2 Lautaro
Lautaro at 3% ownership can shine vs Plzeñ in MD2

Another Inter player, sigh, jokes aside, I can’t really look past the fixture for Lautaro Martinez in MD2 vs Plzeñ.

This is on paper Inter Milan’s most winnable game in their group which also features the likes of Barcelona & Bayern Munich.

Martinez has started off in decent form in Serie A this season with 3xG & 1xA in 5 starts with a per 90 xG+xA of 0.66 which is a good sign for anyone looking at him as a differential option for MD2.

Lautaro is currently only owned by only 3% managers in UCL Fantasy and if Inter are to score goals in MD2, Lautaro Martinez looks more than likely to be involved.

Piotr Zieliński~ Napoli, 7M, TSB: 5%

MD2 Zielinskyi
Zieliński was the highest scoring MID in MD1

Piotr Zieliński was one of the stars of MD1 in UCL Fantasy where he amassed 18 pts via 2xG and 1xA in Napoli’s demolishing of Liverpool.

Zieliński has now cemented a place in the Napoli midfield and is also the designated penalty taker.

In Serie A this season, in 4 starts, Zieliński has 1xG & 3xA with an xG+xA of 2.9 which is quite impressive for a 7M mid in UCL Fantasy.

At the moment of writing this article, he is currently only owned by 5% of managers but I am pretty sure that % is going to rise in the coming weeks.

Pau López~Marseille, 4.5M, TSB: 1%

UCL Fantasy Differentials MD2 Pau Lopez
Lopez could be the cheap GK you are looking for in MD2

Lopez has been in terrific form this season in goal for Marseille who are currently on a rich vein of form tied for 1st with PSG in Ligue 1.

It’s still early in the season but Pau Lopez has only conceded 2 goals in 5 Ligue 1 games keeping 3 clean sheets.

Marseille will be playing Frankfurt in MD2 and given how topsy turvy Frankfurt’s form has been, Marseille can easily keep a clean sheet with Pau Lopez in goal.

At 4.5M, and 1% ownership, Lopez can be a really nice UCL Fantasy differential.

Raheem Sterling~Chelsea, 9.5M, TSB: 4%

UCL Fantasy Differentials Sterling Chelsea
Can Sterling who is only 4% owned bang in MD2?

We have all seen and heard about Chelsea in the recent days for all the wrong reasons, firstly the agonising loss vs Dynamo Zagreb in MD1, then the immediate sacking on Thomas Tuchel as manager.

Chelsea also went out and got Graham Potter as their new manager almost giving us the hint that Tuchel’s sacking was inevitable.

Raheem Sterling was one of Chelsea’s marquee signings this season, Sterling so far has 3xG & 1xA in 6 starts, with a npxG+xA of 3.6.

In my opinion, if you are on a limitless wildcard in MD2 then you should definitely think about Sterling vs Salzburg at home as a huge differential punt.

Raheem Sterling is currently in only 4% of UCL Fantasy teams and is a great pick if you like a maverick option for you UCLFantasy MD2 team.

Nuno Mendes~Paris Saint Germain, 5M, TSB: 8%

UCL Fantasy Differentials Nuno Mendes
1xG & 2xA goal contributions for Mendes in 5 starts for PSG

PSG have arguably the best fixture in MD2 and I am sure you are all considering the big boys up front but Nuno Mendes can be your hidden differential in defence.

Mendes currently has 1xG & 2xA in 5 starts and has cemented that left-sided wing-back role in this PSG team.

Without any disrespect to Maccabi Hafia, PSG could easily get 4-5 goals in which Mendes can just as easily chip with a goal or assist and also keep a clean sheet in the process which would mean a monster haul in MD2.

At 5M price, he is great pick on both on a Wild card and Limitless chip and thus could easily be an alternative route to the more popular Achraf Hakimi.

That’s it then from me for Matchday 2, if you like my work, please do follow me on Twitter @FplRossoneri for more updates and Differential blogs for the upcoming Matchdays and beyond.

Last but not the least, don’t miss the deadline and Good Luck picking for UCL Fantasy MD2 Teams 🙂
