All Premier League Teams Predicted GW2 Lineups

Arsenal

Following a convincing performance against Crystal Palace, there’s no reason why Arsenal shouldn’t go in with the same side as last week.

That being said, I’d still caution against buying William Saliba or Oleksandr Zinchenko, both of whom are gaining some interest. With Tierney fit and Tomiyasu back soon, it remains to be seen what Arsenal will do once all of their defenders are available.

Arsenal GW2 Predicted formation:

  • 4-3-3

Arsenal GW2 Predicted lineup:

Ramsdale

White – Saliba – Gabriel – Zinchenko

Xhaka – Partey – Odegaard

Saka – Jesus – Martinelli

PC/ Injury Round-up:

  • Smith Rowe, Vieira, and Tomiyasu have all been reintegrated into training with Tierney in perfect condition.

Aston Villa

Gerrard sprung a few surprises with his team selection against Bournemouth, particularly opting for Ings over Watkins up front. However, with Ings not being very effective and Watkins commonly being Gerrard’s favoured striker, I’d expect the latter to come back in.

FPL managers may be sweating on Leon Bailey, and there’s a possibility he could be benched due to the number of attacking options at Villa’s disposal, however, I’d still expect him to start against Everton.

Aston Villa GW2 Predicted Formation

  • 4-3-1-2

Aston Villa GW2 Predicted Lineup:

Martinez

Cash – Mings – Carlos – Digne

Kamara – McGinn – Ramsey

Coutinho

Bailey – Watkins

PC/ Injury Round-up:

“He didn’t have much luck last season, Leon is in a much better place compared to where he was last year.”

Gerrard on Leon Bailey

Bournemouth

Like Villa, Bournemouth made a few unexpected selections for their return to the Premier League. Marcus Tavernier went straight into the side after signing from Middlesbrough. Ben Pearson also started despite most expecting Lewis Cook to be given the nod. Kiefer Moore starting up front was also a bit of a surprise and it should but noted that it meant that Solanke played out wide. Given how well Bournemouth played, they can be expected to go in to the clash with City with the same side.

Bournemouth GW2 Predicted formation

  • 3-4-3

Bournemouth GW2 Predicted lineup:

Travers

Lerma – Mepham – Kelly

Smith – Pearson – Billing – Zemura

Moore – Solanke – Marcus Tavernier

Brighton

Brighton put in an all round impressive display against Man United. As such, there’s no reason for them to change anything for the fixture against Newcastle.

Having said that, Graham Potter has been known to make the odd unexpected alteration despite a positive performance in the previous match so this is by no means cut and dry.

Brighton GW2 Predicted formation

  • 3-4-1-2

Brighton GW2 Predicted lineup:

Sanchez

Veltman – Webster – Dunk

March – MacAllister – Lallana – Trossard,

Gross – Caicedo

Welbeck

Brentford

There weren’t any surprises with the Brentford lineup that faced Leicester. However, a point of note was that, £4.5M Josh Dasilva came off the bench to score a superb goal. It’s still difficult to predict whether he’ll start or not, given that he would most likely replace Jensen who is more defensive-minded. At a guess, I’ll predict him to remain on the bench but it could easily go either way.

Brentford GW2 Predicted formation:

  • 4-3-3

Brentford GW2 Predicted lineup:

Raya,

Hickey – Jannson – Mee – Henry

Norgard – Janelt – Jensen

Embeumo – Toney – Wissa

New signing Damsgaard will not start according to manager Thomas Frank as he’s still not ready.

Chelsea

Chelsea’s lineup for their opener against Everton didn’t present any surprises. Ben Chilwell starting over Marcos Alonso may have come as a slight surprise to some but other than that there was nothing that went against what most predicted.

It’ll be interesting to see if new signing Mark Cucurella comes in for his first start. Given that Azpilicueta is the most likely casualty for him, I don’t think Tuchel will want to drop the veteran for an assignment as difficult as Tottenham.

Chelsea GW2 Predicted formation:

  • 3-4-1-2

Chelsea GW2 Predicted lineup:

Mendy,

Koulibaly – Azpilicueta – Thiago Silva

James – Kante – Jorginho – Chilwell

Mount

Sterling – Havertz

Kovacic is out and Alonso will not be considered. Chilwell will fight with Cucurella for a LWB starting spot.

Crystal Palace

Palace went into the Arsenal game with quite a predictable lineup. Following a display in which they by no means disgraced themselves, Patrick Viera will probably persist for the same 11.

Crystal Palace GW2 Predicted Formation

  • 4-2-3-1

Crystal Palace GW2 Predicted lineup:

Guaita

Clyne – Guehi – Anderson – Mitchell

Schlupp – Doucoure

Ayew – Zaha – Eze

Edouard

Injury update:

Olise is back from his foot injury and could feature against Liverpool.

Everton

As if there weren’t already enough problems at Everton, Ben Godfrey suffered a horrible-looking injury and will be out for a while. Yeri Mina will also be out for the foreseeable future. To alleviate the issue somewhat, Conor Coady came in from Wolves so he can be expected to go into the back three. Holgate will probably step in as well.

Further forward, Demarai Gray starting over Delle came as a bit of surprise but he may well keep his place. Rondon is back from his suspension but he might be a 100% guaranteed starter according to Frank even though he’s the only senior striker available.

Everton GW2 Predicted formation

  • 3-4-2-1

Everton GW2 Predicted lineup

Pickford

Holgate – Tarkowski – Coady

Paterson – Doucoure – Iwobi – Mykolenko

Gray – McNeil

Gordon

Fulham

An inspired performance from Fulham in GW1 suggests their GW2 team will broadly be the same as the one that played against Liverpool. The only change I envisage is that Bern Leno, signed from Arsenal, could come in. Though it’d but harsh on Rodak who’s done nothing wrong, Leno will have joined as first choice so he should go straight in.

Fulham GW2 Predicted formation:

  • 4-2-3-1

Fulham GW2 Predicted lineup:

Leno

Tete -Tosin – Diop – Robinson,

Palhinha – H Reed

B Reid – Andreas – Kebano

Mitrovic

Leeds United

This will be an easy one to summarise. Numerous players still being out coupled with a good performance all round against Wolves should mean that they’ll go into the match against Southampton unchanged.

Leeds United GW2 Predicted formation:

  • 4-2-3-1

Leeds United GW2 Predicted lineup:

 Meslier

Kristensen – Llorente – Koch – Struijk

Adams, Roca,

Rodrigo, Aaronson Harrison

Bamford

Leicester City

Following news that Harvey Barnes would be out for the opener, Brendan Rogers deployed a curious tactic of shuffling the team around a little rather than a like-for-like replacement. Amartey came in at right back, Justin went over to the left, and Timothy Castagne played out of position on the left wing. If Barnes remains, out, we can expect this to stay the same, especially after Castagne scored on the weekend.

In other news, Danny Ward started in net, as was expected following Kasper Schmeichel’s move to Nice.

Leicester City GW2 Predicted formation:

  • 4-3-3

Leicester City GW2 Predicted lineup:

Ward

Castagne – Amartey – Fofana – Evans – Justin

Ndidi – Tielemans – Dewsbury-Hall,

Maddison – Vardy

Liverpool

After his impressive cameo off the bench in the community shield, I expected Darwin Nunez to start against Fulham but Klopp opted with Roberto Firmino instead. Having made a similarly impressive impact of the bench, I’m going to once more predict Nunez to come into the team at Firmino’s expense.

In less positive news for Liverpool, Thiago sustained an injury that will see him out for a few weeks. The most likely replacement for him will be Naby Keita, though Klopp could play the more exciting Harvey Elliott there.

Liverpool GW2 Predicted formation

  • 4-3-3

Liverpool GW2 Predicted lineup:

Allison

Alexander Arnold – Van Dijk – Gomez – Robertson

Henderson – Fabinho – Keita

Salah – Nunez – Diaz

Matip sat out of training on Friday with a groin problem in hopes of being ready for the Monday night game. Konate is already out and Joe Gomez is the other option who is likely to start at the moment.

Manchester City

The City team that beat West Ham was by and large what we’d predicted but Bernardo Silva was left out for Ilkay Gundogan in what was probably a bit of a surprise. The german did well and should keep his place with Silva continued to be linked with Barcelona heavily.

Manchester City GW2 Predicted formation

  • 4-2-3-1

Manchester City GW2 Predicted lineup:

Ederson

Walker – Ake – Dias – Cancelo,

Rodri – Gundogan,

Foden – De Bruyne – Grealish

Haaland

PC/Injury update

Kalvin Phillips and Cole Palmer are out for this week according to Pep from his press conference.

Manchester United

Lesandro Martinez came into the United team on the weekend and despite how poor United as a whole were, he put in a reasonably good performance and should retain his place.

In the midfield, Scott McTominay had a torrid time of it alongside Fred. I’d predict Eriksen to drop into the two alongside Fred with Ronaldo coming in upfront.

Manchester United GW2 Predicted formation:

  • 4-2-3-1

Manchester United GW2 Predicted lineup:

De Gea

Dalot – Martinez – Maguire – Shaw

Fred – Eriksen

Rashford – Bruno – Sancho

Ronaldo

Martial and Lindelof are both out.

“So, he had a good training week, I thought he played a little bit longer than half an hour [against Brighton], I would say he now has two half a games,”

Ten hag on Ronaldo

Newcastle United

Eddie Howe’s most notable selection was that of leaving new signing Sven Botman on the bench. Whilst he will eventually come into the side, excellent performances from both Schar and Burn against Forest would suggest that for now at least, they will remain the starting pair.

Newcastle United GW2 Predicted formation:

  • 4-3-3

Newcastle United GW2 Predicted lineup:

Pope

Trippier – Burn – Schar – Targett

Willock – Guimaraes – Joelinton

Almiron – Wilson – Saint-Maximin

Nottingham Forest

Aside from recently signed centre-back Moussa Niakhate going straight into the team ahead of Steve Cook, there were no surprises with the Forest side. Scott McKenna is a major doubt for their home game after picking up an injury in training. Biancone could start in his place.

Nottingham Forest GW2 Predicted formation:

  • 3-4-3

Nottingham Forest GW2 Predicted lineup:

Henderson

Worrall – Niakhate – Biancone

Williams – O’Brien – Colback – Toffolo

 Lingard -Johnson -Awoniyi

Southampton

There were a number of curious selections. Although it was assumed that new signing Bella-Kotchap was expected to start but Jan Vallery played in the back three instead. With Vallery being hooked in the second half, I’d imagine Bella-Kotchap comes back in.

Che Adams not being given a start was also slightly surprising, but with news later emerging that Southampton are willing to let him go this summer, we can expect his absence from the starting lineup to continue.

Southampton GW2 Predicted formation

  • 5-3-2

Southampton GW2 Predicted lineup:

Bazunu

Walker-Peters – Bella-Kotchap – Salisu – Bednarek – Djenepo

Lavia -Romeo – Ward Prowse

Aribo – A Armstrong

Tottenham

A few hours prior to the FPL deadline, a few rumors emerged of Doherty and Perisic not starting against Southampton. Instead, Emerson and Sessegnon started there and both were among Tottenham’s better players in that match. As such, it’d be very harsh to drop either, and in any case, I’d venture Conte will be reticent to give Perisic his first Premier League start at Chelsea so I’d expect both fullbacks to retain their positions.

Lenglet is out for the Chelsea game.

Spurs GW2 Predicted formation:

  • 3-4-3

Spurs GW2 Predicted lineup:

Lloris

Dier – Romero – Davies

Emerson – Bentancur -Hojbjerg – Sessegnon

Kulusevski – Son -Kane

West Ham

With a plethora of injuries plaguing David Moyes’s side, he was forced into starting with a makeshift back 4 which included Ben Johnson at centre back. With Ogbonna out, Dawson not quite fully fit(Assessment close to the game), and Diop now at Fulham that is likely to continue. Zouma did seem a bit worse for wear at the end of the previous match, but no update as of now suggests that he should be fine.

Following Fabianski coming off early in the first half for Alphonse Areola, the first-choice keeper reportedly has a dead leg. Moyes didn’t add anything new about the Fabianski situation during the Friday press conference and Areola could start against Nottingham Forest.

West Ham GW2 Predicted Formation

  • 4-2-3-1

West Ham GW2 Predicted lineup:

Areola

Coufal – Zouma – Johnson – Cresswell

Rice – Soucek

Bowen – Lanzini – Fornals

Antonio

Wolves

There was only one real surprise in the Wolves team that played against Leeds in GW1. Joao Moutinho missed out after picking up an injury in training so Hee-Chan Hwang came in. According to manager Bruno Lage, Moutinho and Jimenez are still out. New signing Goncalo Guedes should also come straight into the side.

Morgan Gibbs White has been strongly linked with Forest. If that deal looks to be quite advanced by the end of the week, he probably won’t play.

Wolves GW2 Predicted formation:

  • 4-3-3

Wolves GW2 Predicted lineup:

Sa

Jonny – Kilman – Collins – AitNouri

Neves – Dendonker – Guedes

Podence – Gibbs-White – Neto

As we said when predicting the GW1 lineups, there will definitely be some incorrect calls in here, however, we’ll always do our best job with the news we have.
