We as FPL managers have had mixed fortunes with our teams in GW1. We have trusted some of the Premier League Footballers to deliver in FPL, some of them returned while the others have disappointed. But how did the Premier League stars perform in FPL as managers themselves? In this article, let us take a look at how some of the Premier League Footballers fared in FPL GW1 of the 2022/23 FPL Season!

Performance of Premier League Footballers in FPL GW1
James Maddison
Maddison went with triple Leicester defense- Ward, Iversen, Justin which means no place for himself. He choose two 8. 0 midfielders ahead of himself in Diaz and Saka.
Bukayo Saka
Saka went in with a more or less template team and fetched 72 points. He also tripled up on Arsenal as expected- Saka(himself), Jesus and Gabriel.

Harvey Barnes
Harvey Barnes was the pick among Premier League Footballers in GW1 despite No Salah with 81 points thanks to a brave Haaland Captaincy call and Differential picks in Kulusevski and Zinchenko.
Patrick Bamford
Bamford captained himself but had a disappointing start to the season with just 50 points in GW1.
Fofana
Fofana tripled up on Chelsea assets which could possibly suggest something! He had a good Gameweek with 71 points but would regret benching his teammate Dewsbury Hall.
Kalvin Phillips
New city recruit only came on in the second half in his Premier League debut, but smashed his FPL GW1 with 77 points thanks to his teammate Haaland(Captain).
Dewsbury Hall
John McGinn
GW1 Bench Boost was a talk among the Community before the season started, but Mcginn fulfilled it. It didn’t end greatly though as it fetched him only 45 FPL points.
