FPL GW5 Scout Picks- Goalkeeper

FPL GW5 Scout Picks- Goalkeeper

After 4 Gameweeks, Sanchez is the second highest scoring goalkeeper with 26 points and three clean sheets only behind Henderson who has scored 30 points courtesy two penalty saves. Sanchez with the help of an organized Brighton defense have the potential to keep a clean sheet vs Fulham.

FPL GW5 Scout Picks- Defenders

Trent Alexander Arnold is the first name here after getting 17 points against Bournemouth in GW3 with a goal, assists and clean sheet. It was not a lucky haul as TAA tops the chart among defenders for Expected Assists(1.25), Big chances created(2), Key passes(11) in the league.

Gabriel is the third defender up against a clueless and inconsistent Villa side at home. Arsenal have the Best xGC(3.0) in the league and should surely fancy a clean sheet against Villa.

Walker despite rotation risk is a good budget defender pick at just 5.1 million with a home fixture against promoted side Forest.

A late injury/illness to James means Dias replaces him in our scout picks for the week.

FPL GW5 Scout Picks- Midfielders

FPL GW5 Scout Picks- Midfielders

Salah is someone who would be disappointed with no goal contributions despite team winning 9-0 vs Bournemouth. Against a Newcastle side who are likely to be without many key players like Wilson, Shelvey, Bruno and ASM, a hungry and a certain to start Salah could be a good differential captain choice while most are likely to go with Haaland.

Gundogan has returned in all three of his last 3 games with 2 goals and an assist. Having got the rest in GW4 vs Palace, he should start and should again fancy himself in good goal scoring positions.

Sterling has the form(2 goals in GW4 vs Leicester), fixture and is also rotation free as he is the focal point of Chelsea attack this season. Still at just 6.0% TSB, Sterling is featured and is analyzed in detail on our GW5 Differentials article with next 3 games vs Southampton, West Ham and Fulham- All three sides not that strong defensively.

Rodrigo had his first blank of the season in GW4 against a defensively strong Brighton side. But Everton are not Brighton and have conceded 42 shots inside the box(4th highest) this season. Rodrigo stands third for shots inside the box(15) in the league , only behind Haaland and Mitrovic with 17. Next two fixtures after GW5 are also really good- Brentford(A), Forest(H).

Odegaard completes the midfield with 3 goals, 26 FPL points from the last 2 games. Against a Villa side with 0 clean sheets from the first 4 games, he could be a good shout.

Harry Kane didn’t match Haaland’s GW4 haul through a missed penalty and ended up missing his hattrick. But he has no risk of rotation in GW5 unlike Haaland and could be in for another haul against a West Ham side who have conceded 10 big chances(6th highest) so far.

Please note: The scout picks captaincy is entirely the author’s call(FPLDaggaFC), the captaincy metrics and scout picks are two independent blogs with two different authors having different opinions, so at times the captaincy choice here in the scout picks might differ from the one on top of the captaincy metrics.
