FPL GW36 Captaincy poll ~ Wisdom Of the Crowd

[Total_Soft_Poll id=”48″]

Salah tops the FPL DGW36 poll with more than 50% of the votes which is expected considering Liverpool double and Salah was benched in GW35 which pretty much guarantees his minutes in GW36. KDB is second with close to 22% of the votes, KDB too didn’t play in GW35 and was subbed off at 76 mins vs Madrid which gives him a good chance of playing both the games. Cancelo is third with 7% votes, Son is fourth with 5% votes and Saka is fifth with nearly 4% votes. The five players going into our metrics this week will be Salah, KDB, Cancelo, Son and Saka.

Underlying Numbers of the FPL Gameweek 36 Captain picks

It’s a pretty rare week that sees Salah not top any of the attacking metrics. Saka has the most shots inside the box(15), Son and Salah are close behind with 13 shots inside the box each. KDB(10) and Cancelo(5) are fourth and fifth for shots inside the box.

KDB of course has the most chances created with whopping 24 chances created in the last six games. Saka is showing high up here as well with 15 chances created. Son tops the big chances in the last six games with six big chances, Saka has three and Salah has two.

Son tops the xG with 3.11 xG in the last six games, Saka is second with 3.01 xG. Salah who used to dominate the xG numbers in the metrics is only third with an xG of 1.76.

Conclusion – Final Rank from our FPL Gameweek 36 Captaincy metric analysis

Conclusion - Final Rank from our FPL Gameweek 36 Captaincy metric analysis

In the Fifth and Final Phase of the article, I have aggregated the Ranks derived above to pull out the Cumulative Rank Factor (CRF). The Candidate having the lowest Cumulative Rank Factor is the most ideal Captaincy Option according to this metric.

KDB tops the metrics with the lowest CRF(7), and Cancelo is second with a CRF of 9. Salah could only finish third with a CRF of 12. Saka(14) finishes above Son who’s CRF is only 16, partly due to the drop in projections and odds due to the tough fixtures for Spurs.
