FPL GW37 Fixtures Review Based on Stats and Eye Test

In this blog, we review the FPL GW37 Sunday fixtures based on eye test and stats to see which players stand out this week. This blog is written by @deevyaparekh, do give him a follow on Twitter!

FPL GW37 Sunday Fixtures sorted by xGI

A big chunk of games means there’s a lot of teams to cover in this final Sunday review for the season. Thus I’ve omitted some players who crossed the 0.20 xGI threshold but I didn’t think they were of strong fantasy relevance going into the final Gameweek of the season.

Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace

Ollie Watkins (7.5m, FWD) was passed fit and managed 3 shots, all from inside the box and 1 chance created for a team-leading xGI of 0.43.

Emi Buendia (6.1m, MID) came off the bench to have a shot inside the box and a chance created for an xGI of 0.34.

Their opponents, another DGW team, Crystal Palace had Jeffrey Schlupp (5.4m, MID) register one big chance from inside the box worth a whopping 0.77 of xG.

Joachim Anderson (4.6m, DEF) put up great numbers from defense with 4 chances created and a shot from inside the box for an xGI of 0.50.

Brighton vs Leeds

Brighton faced Leeds in a crucial game for the latter team in their quest to escape relegation. Danny Welbeck (5.9m, FWD) registered 3 shots, all from inside the box and all big chances for an xG of 0.91. Very strong numbers.

Mac Allister and Trossard also both registered an xGI over 0.70.

Joe Gelhardt (4.7m, FWD) managed 3 shots, 2 from inside the box including a big chance and created 1 big chance for an xGI of 0.69.

Raphinha (6.3m, MID) had 3 shots, 1 from inside the box which was a big chance and 4 chances created for an xGI of 0.57.

Everton vs Brentford

In 9-man Evertons disappointing defeat to Brentford, Richarlison (7.6m, FWD) led the way with 4 shots, all from inside the box including 2 big chances and 3 chances created including 2 big chances for an xGI of 1.17.

Calvert-Lewin (7.7m, FWD) had 1 shot, a big chance from inside the box worth 0.47 xG.

Anthony Gordon (4.7m, MID) had 2 shots, 1 big chance from inside the box and 1 chance created for an xGI of 0.43.

For Brentford, Christian Eriksen (5.6m, MID) produced an excellent all-round display with 3 shots, 1 from inside the box and 5 chances created including 1 big chance for an xGI of 0.77.

Ivan Toney (6.8m, FWD) produced 3 shots, 2 from inside the box including 1 big chance and 1 chance created for an xGI of 0.55.

Man City vs West Ham

Manchester City clawed back from 2-0 down to 2-2 before a late penalty miss. Riyadh Mahrez (8.6m, MID) had 3 shots, all from inside the box including a penalty and 1 chance created for an xGI of 1.01.

Jack Grealish (7.5m, MID) had a whopping 6 shots, 5 from inside the box and 3 chances created for an xGI of 0.73.

Kevin De Bruyne (12.0m, MID) had 4 shots, 1 from inside the box and 4 chances created for an xGI of 0.55.

Jarrod Bowen (6.8m, MID) had 4 shots, all from inside the box including a big chance for a colossal 1.78 xGI.

Spurs vs Burnley

Harry Kane (12.4m, FWD) had 6 shots, 4 from inside the box including 2 big chances for an xG of 1.21.

Heung-Min Son (11.1m, MID) had 2 shots, both from inside the box including 1 big chance and 4 chances created for an xGI of 0.64.

Sessegnon (4.3m, DEF) had 2 shots, both from inside the box and 4 chances created including 2 big chances for a strong xGI of 0.61. He really caught the eye ahead of a potentially lucrative final day fixture home to Norwich.

Max Cornet (5.8m, MID) had 2 shots from inside the box including a big chance and 1 chance created for an xGI of 0.40.

Collins (4.3m, DEF) had 1 shot from inside the box and created a big chance for an xGI of 0.34.

Watford vs Leicester

Leicester put 5 past relegated Watford. James Maddison (6.9m, MID) had 2 shots, 1 big chance from inside the box and created 3 chances including 1 big chance for an xGI of 1.08.

Harvey Barnes (6.5m, MID) had 3 shots, all from inside the box including 2 big chances and created 2 chances including 1 big chance for an xGI of 0.99.

Jamie Vardy (10.3m, FWD) had 3 shots, all from inside the box including 1 big chance and 1 big chance created for an xGI of 0.79.

Joao Pedro (5.4m, FWD) from Watford deserves a mention for an encouraging 7 shots including 6 from inside the box and 3 big chances for an xG of 1.15.
