Welcome to FPL DGW36 Transfer Trends! This is a weekly series where we take a bit of time to analyze some of the major transfer trends on FPL prior to the deadline.
GW35 saw a flurry of captaincy picks, mainly between Spurs, City, and Liverpool assets. It was a tale of two cities, for those who owned Son or Kane, with Son owners coming out on top. We now turn our attention to what might be one of the largest double gameweeks we’ve seen in a long time!
This week, we can see the transfer trends show people buying players from Man City, Arsenal, Everton, Chelsea, and Watford. The top 5 transfers OUT come from Brentford, Tottenham, Arsenal, Southampton, and West Ham.

RECAP of GW35 TRANSFER TRENDS
Schär (2 points) to Alonso (1 point) ❌
Barnes (0 points) to Coutinho (3 points) ❌
Livramento (0 points) to Cash (6 points) ✅
1/3 transfer picks worked out last week. We move onto DGW36!
Top Transfers Ins and Outs Ahead of FPL DGW36
Toney is the most transferred out player ahead of the deadline, with 76k managers seeking other forward options. Reguilon is transferred out by 70k managers with his injury and Spurs’ tough double fixtures.
Ben White’s doubt sees 64k managers take him out of their teams, and Broja’s lack of form has prompted 59k managers to consider other budget forward picks. Finally, Antonio makes a return to the top transfers out list, with another 56k managers not happy with his lack of form.
On the flip side, City striker Jesus is the most bought-in player ahead of the deadline, with 144k managers eager to hop on the favorable double fixtures that City have. Nketiah follows in second place, with 102k managers bringing in the budget Arsenal forward.
Everton’s Richarlison is brought in by 100k managers ahead of Everton’s favorable fixtures, and 70k managers look to Alonso as their Chelsea defender to own ahead of the deadline. Finally, with two decent favorable fixtures, Dennis is the Watford forward brought in by 60k managers prior to Double Gameweek 36.
The 3 transfer combinations we will be focusing on are: Broja to Nketiah, Toney to Richarlison, and Reguilon to Alonso.
Top Three FPL DGW36 Transfer Trends Combinations
FPL DGW36 Transfer Combination 1:
Armando Broja (£5.4) to Eddie Nketiah (£5.5)
While Broja is still a good budget enabler to hold if you have other urgent matters to attend to in your teams, the recent prospect of Eddie Nketiah has caught the attention of many FPL managers. In fact, 33.8% of managers have made the swap from Broja to Nketiah.
Arteta has expressed positive comments about Nketiah, feeling a bit guilty not playing Nketiah more now that his contract is close to its end. And Nketiah has surprised Arteta during Lacazette’s absence, with two goals in their win against Chelsea, and a stellar performance against Man United.
Among all forwards below £6m, Nketiah is the best for total shots (16), shots on target (8), big chances (3), and touches in the box (31). Considering he will most likely be a budget enabler on many bench boosted teams, he puts up great stats and form for a budget striker.
Given the lack of variety in the forward selection in FPL, and the fact that Arsenal have a lot to play for to fully secure their 4th spot in the table, Nketiah will be expected to perform and produce. He is certainly a great budget pick in the forward options, especially with 50% odds of scoring according to Drafthound.
Who do Arsenal face in DGW36?
Arsenal play Leeds at home and Tottenham away in DGW36. According to Drafthound, Leeds have 11% odds of keeping a clean sheet against Arsenal. While the odds for Spurs keeping a clean sheet is a little bit better at 30%, we can still expect goals conceded in a North London Derby that should pack a lot of drama.
The Tottenham match should be the tougher game of the double; however, the Leeds game is where Arsenal could go big. Leeds tend to concede more goals away from home, with an xGC of 1.83 at home games and 2.04 away.
Nketiah and Arsenal could register many returns over their Double Gameweek!

FPL DGW36 Transfer Combination 2:
Ivan Toney (£6.9) to Richarlison (£7.5)
Toney’s lack of form in the last few gameweeks and a lack of double fixtures in DGW36 has prompted 26.4% of managers to swap to an under-rated asset in the form of Richarlison.
Richarlison has gone under the radar, probably given Everton’s questionable form. However, the Brazilian is actually best among all forwards in the last 6 gameweeks for total shots (23), shots on target (10), and shots in the box (19). He is 2nd best for touches in the box (41), xG (0.65), and big chances (5).
Everton are also a team who double in both GW36 and 37. Given they are at risk of relegation, there is a lot to play for. In the last 6 Premier League games, Richarlison has scored 4 goals and 1 assist, with a double digit haul in GW31. That’s 5 returns in the last 6 games!
For those with enough money in the bank, Richarlison is a decent punt to go for.
Who do Everton face in DGW36?
Everton play Leicester and Watford away in DGW36. In home games alone this season, Watford are worst for big chances conceded (43), while Leicester are 3rd worst (37).
With xGC of 1.88 and 1.56 for Watford and Leicester respectively, there’s a good chance Everton could score a few goals. In the last 6 gameweeks, Watford have not kept a single clean sheet, while Leicester have kept 1.
Everton have a good set of fixtures ahead of them, with Richarlison being the standout pick from the Everton squad for those looking for a forward punt.

FPL DGW36 Transfer Combination 3:
Sergio Reguilon (£5.1) to Marcos Alonso (£5.7)
Despite not picking up a return last gameweek, Marcos Alonso returns as a transfer pick in DGW36, ahead of Chelsea’s favourable doubles. 20.8% of managers have made the swap from fellow Spanish defender Reguilon to Alonso.
Alonso statistically remains the best among defenders for total shots (16), shots in the box (14), big chances created (3), and touches in the box (25). He is 2nd best for xG (1.59) and big chances (2).
While rotation could be an issue for Chelsea assets, Chelsea currently do not have left-backs due to Chilwell’s injury. At the same time, we can expect Alonso to play at least one of the two fixtures, of which either one is very favourable. We can expect Alonso to return in at least one of the two.
Who do Chelsea face in DGW36?
Chelsea play Wolves at home and Leeds away in DGW36. Chelsea have great odds of keeping a clean sheet, with 44% odds of a clean sheet against both Wolves and Leeds. In the last 6 gameweeks, Wolves has registered a 2.2 xGC, Leeds with a 1.8.
Both teams have conceded 9 goals in the last 6 gameweeks, with Leeds only keeping one clean sheet, Wolves with none.
Chelsea’s fixtures look great until the end of the season too. Alonso at his price is a great hold to the end of the season.
That has been 3 potential transfer combinations that FPL managers could consider prior to the Double Gameweek 36 deadline. Hope this blog provided a bit of insight on viable FPL moves you could take!
