Underlying Numbers of the FPL Gameweek 31 Captain picks
Salah conveniently tops the individual stats over the last six games, Salah alone infact has more xG than Burnley(5.41) in the last six games. KDB dominates the chances created metric with 18 chances created. Kane has had more big chances than any of the five and has been equally good in creating chances as well with 13 chances created. He infact didn’t score in GW30 but registered 3 assists for a 13 points haul. Cancelo having more shots in the box than Weghorst tells the full story, but the Burnley forward having a double is the only explanation of why few managers would captain him this week.

Underlying Numbers of the Candidate’s Teams
The team stats are a head-to-head battle between Liverpool and Man City, the two title contenders this season. While Man City have more shots inside the box, it’s Liverpool who have more big chances and a higher xG over the last six games.
Spurs also have had an impressive 22 big chances in the last six games equalling Man City which is an encouraging sign for Kane, Son, and Kulu.
Burnley are dead last with an xG of less than 6 in their last six games.

Fixture Difficulty of the candidate team in FPL GW31
We use Drafthound’s odds for a Team scoring at least One goal in the Gameweek and the Odds of Scoring more than 2.5 goals in the Gameweek as a whole. You can check out the same as well for free on Drafthound along with fixture analysis, predicted analysis, and more.
Man City top the fixture difficulty table with the odds heavily favoring them, infact they love playing Man City, and here’s their record against Burnley.
A home game against Watford means Salah and co aren’t far behind Man City with Liverpool having 94% of scoring a goal and 55% chance of scoring 2.5+ goals. Weghorst has decent numbers as well because of the fact that they play twice in GW31.
Projections Rank of our FPL Gameweek 31 Captain Picks

Conclusion – Final Rank from our FPL Gameweek 31 Captaincy metric analysis
Salah’s home game against Watford meant he was too good to be replaced by anyone as the best captaincy choice in FPL Gameweek 31 according to our metric.
KDB and Cancelo are close behind with Kane finishing fourth due to the fact that Salah and City boys have a better fixture than Spurs in GW31. Weghorst finishing last shows that he’s not anywhere near to being a good captaincy candidate, he might be a decent transfer in considering Burnley play five times over the next three GWs but shouldn’t be a captaincy candidate IMO.
