Welcome back to our FPL Gameweek 13 captain picks and metrics blog, Although Salah has sort of killed captaincy this season returning pretty much every week there are some decent options emerging over the last few weeks. The premium fullbacks have gone all guns blazing over the last few weeks and the likes of TAA, Cancelo, James all outscored Salah last week. Let’s see who tops our metric this week.

The metrics has an 11/12 record this year. Last week the metric predicted Salah as the best captaincy candidate and he returned once again in GW12(Is it even a doubt😉)

Salah once again tops the captaincy poll for fpl gameweek 13 which is hardly a surprise. But there are two more Liverpool FPL assets in the top five of our captaincy poll with TAA and Jota second and fifth on the poll. Kane and Raul Jimenez complete the top five from our captaincy poll this week.

Salah dominates the numbers with a whopping 18 shots in the box, 12 chances created, 6 big chances with an xG of 3.84 in the last six games. Jota comes second with six shots inside the box, five chances created, three big chances, and an xG of 1.66 which are great for a 7.6 Million FPL asset.

Kane comes third and his numbers over are increasing slightly with 9 shots inside the box, four chances created, three big chances, and an xG of 1.66. Spurs are adapting to the Conte era and Kane’s numbers should increase in the coming weeks.

Raul Jimenez with three goals and three assists in the last seven games. Also, the highest-scoring forward during the period tops comes fourth with six shots inside the box, four chances created, three big chances, and an xG of 1.33.

TAA comes fifth as his shots inside the box numbers are less. But his 13 chances created is second only to Salah.

Three of the five players from Liverpool mean this section is going to be short. Liverpool have been high flying with 63 shots inside the box, 23 big chances, and an xG of 13.77.

Spurs come second with 39 shots inside the box, 13 big chances and an xG of 7.43. Wolves are last with 33 shots inside the box, 13 big chances, 6.34 xG.

In the Third Phase of the Article, we look at the Fixture Difficulty of our 5 Candidates. We have used Drafthound’s Clean Sheet odds and the Odds of Conceding more than 2.5 goals. You can check out the same as well for free on Drafthound along with fixture analysis, predicted analysis, and more.

Liverpool face Southampton who have been give with just 9% odds of keeping a CS against Liverpool. Liverpool also have a 49% chance of scoring more than 2.5+ goals in this fixture. Spurs face Burnley and have an odds of just 23% to score 2.5+ goals whereas Wolves face Norwich and have an 18% odds of scoring more than 2.5+ goals.

It’s worth noting that Liverpool will be facing Mccarthy who conceded two goals to Norwich with an xGC of just 0.8. Salah and co will look to trouble the Saint’s keeper who should be nervy.

In the Fourth Phase of the article, We have used the Anytime Returns and Projected Points Tools available at Fantasy Football Hub. With the help of the Anytime Returns Tool, I have derived the Safety Rank, which helps in determining the Safest Captaincy Option of the week, while I have used the Projected Points Tool to determine the Explosion Rank, which helps in determining the Most Explosive Option of the week. 

Surprisingly Salah(70%) has been dethrowned by TAA(72%) in the anytime return odds. Kane is closely third with an anytime returns odds of 69%. Jota with 60% and Jimenez with 56% complete the list. Salah has the highest points projection with 8, Kane is second with a projection of 7.7, TAA is third with 6.3, Jota is fourth with 5.9 and Jimenez complete the list with 5.5 projected points.

In the Fifth and Final Phase of the article, I have aggregated the Ranks derived above to pull out the Cumulative Rank Factor (CRF). The Candidate having the lowest Cumulative Rank Factor is the most ideal Captaincy Option according to this metric.

Salah once again tops our FPL gameweek 13 captaincy metric without a surprise ending with a CRF of 4 which is the lowest possible CRF. It’s kinda boring now and we look forward to someone piping him the metric sooner.

Salah’s team mate Diogo Jota finishes second with a CRF of 8. Liverpool Defender TAA, comes third with a CRF of 9.

Kane comes fourth with a CRF of 14 and Jimenez is plumb last with a CRF of 18. 20 is the worst possible CRF in our metric.
