Players to BUY ahead of FPL GW13:

Reece James

Players to BUY ahead of FPL GW13 ~ Reece James

James has been in sensational form in the past gameweeks and is looking unstoppable at the moment. He is deservingly the most popular transfer this week, especially after the shocking Chilwell injury in Chelsea’s UCL game against Juventus on Tuesday.

The right wingback has registered 3 goals and 2 assists in the last 4 games and is currently the third-highest points-scoring defender despite playing considerably fewer amount of minutes than Cancelo and Alexander-Arnold who each have just 4 more points than him this season. With 0.60 xG+xA per 90, James is posing a major threat to the opposition defense and his attacking potential continues to impress.

Defensively, Chelsea have been really solid this season by keeping 8 clean sheets in 12 games so James is a very likely candidate for clean sheet points even against the likes of Manchester United and West Ham in the next 3 upcoming fixtures for Chelsea. Moreover, games against Watford and Leeds in the next 5 make the wingback even more appealing. He is looking like a player you can hold long-term due to his explosive runs down the wing that offer a high chance of attacking returns and the stability of Chelsea’s defense.

Conor Gallagher

Players to BUY ahead of FPL GW13 ~ Conor Gallagher

The third most transferred-in player this week is Conor Gallagher who has registered two double-digit hauls in the last 3 games and has shown an impressive amount of attacking threat during this season. He is one of the best cheap enablers in the game who can get you a return in any week and still allows you to spread your money elsewhere.

Crystal Palace have been transformed under the leadership of Viera and are now creating much more chances than we used to see from them in the past. Gallagher offers relatively similar goalscoring and assist potential and with 50% expected goal involvement for his team he is of fundamental importance for the Crystal Palace attack and is likely to be the main guy to get FPL points from his team.

A home game against Aston Villa who have not been great defensively this season and an away trip to Leeds are fixtures where Gallagher can surely deliver again and he is the one to get if you are looking for a cheap midfielder option as your transfer for this game week.

Players to HOLD ahead of FPL GW13:

Harry Kane

Players to HOLD ahead of FPL GW13 ~ Harry Kane

The striker has failed to live up to the expectations of FPL managers who have been used to see him fighting for the golden boot every season. Only 1 goal and 1 assist in 10 games is clearly a sign of underperformance for someone of his caliber. However, Kane has been much more clinical when playing for England or in the Conference League where his goalscoring record is way more satisfactory. He was quite unfortunate to not get something in his last game against Leeds but he definitely looked better than before Conte was in charge of Spurs which is a promising sign for the upcoming game weeks.

Despite his poor statistical performance, the main reason for transferring Kane in was the great fixture run of Spurs. As they still have games against Burnley, Brentford, and Norwich in the next three matchups there is no reason to give this opportunity up and it is much more sensible to keep faith in England’s striker for a bit longer before thinking about getting rid if his unfortunate streak continues.

Jamie Vardy

Players to HOLD ahead of FPL GW13 ~ Jamie Vardy

Jamie Vardy has been quiet since gameweek 9 and owners are starting to lose patience as he is occupying premium striker spot which is expected to be one of the strongest areas of your team. His blanks against Chelsea, Arsenal, and Brentford where he only played 45mins can be somewhat excused if you consider that Vardy has returned against teams mostly from the bottom half of the table and Leicester have not performed really well against teams from the top 6 teams this season. Having said that, Vardy still maintains an xG of 0.40 and is still a major threat in the box despite not being able to finish his chances in the recent gameweeks.

Although Vardy has not been able to maintain the form he was in at the start of the season, a home game against Watford is surely not the right time to transfer out the Englishman. The Hornets have not kept a single clean sheet during the entire season.

An argument can be made to hold him against Southampton as well but even if you are unwilling to give him 2 games, you still should not get rid of him before one of the best possible home games for a striker at this point of the season. Patience until moving to Ronaldo in a few weeks is also a strategy that can prove to be beneficial if you stick with Vardy during his good run of fixtures.

Players to SELL ahead of FPL GW13:

Michail Antonio

Players to Sell ahead of FPL GW13 ~ Michail Antonio

One of the FPL community’s favorite players has not been looking great recently and wildcarders in GW 8 who made a huge risk at the time to not include him in their team are now relieved that Antonio has scored 1 goal in his last 5 games. His xG of 0.45 has been slowly dropping after his incredible start of the campaign which more or less creates a misleading idea that he has performed okay in the last few game weeks.

The upcoming festive period has a packed schedule of games every three days and with Antonio’s fitness concerns it is likely he will get rested a few times. Even if he plays more often than expected, his poor recent individual performance and hamstring injury danger are valid reasons to consider selling him.

West Ham have a very tough run of fixtures as they play Man City, Brighton, and Chelsea in the next 3 game weeks. Even if Antonio has been great for you since the start of the season, many other options are now available and it looks like now it is your last chance to sell if you still want to differentiate from the 47% owners.

Kai Havertz

Players to sell ahead of FPL GW13 ~ kai havertz

The Chelsea attacker has been a good differential for a few gameweeks but it does not seem like he has the same appeal anymore. The potential return of Lukaku, Werner and Pulisic now make him an obvious rotation risk and it is highly unlikely that he gets regular minutes during this busy Premier League period. Tuchel also raised some concerns about Havertz dealing with a hamstring issue but has not given a definitive answer on if he is going to be available for the game against Manchester United.

As more Chelsea players return from injury, Havertz will now not be playing that high up the pitch and also centrally in the Chelsea attack and his chances in the box will likely decrease in the upcoming weeks. Similarly priced midfield options like Jota, Foden or a punty Bernardo Silva offer more attacking potential and have better fixtures ahead of them, which make gameweek 13 a good time to swap Havertz.
