FPL GW12 Wildcard Team Reveal | Best Wildcard Draft

International breaks are always a good juncture to play your wildcard and this time around with fixture swings, expected manager bounce has led to a lot of FPL managers hitting their wildcard. Nearly 48.77% of managers still have their wildcard and if you still have your wildcard then FPL GW12 could be a good juncture to use it.

FPL GW12 Wildcard defenders:

If you’re on a wildcard then the likes of Reece James, Trent Alexander Arnold, Cancelo, Livramento auto pick themselves. The trio of Cancelo, TAA, and James are the three highest-scoring defenders in FPL so far this season and only Salah have scored more points in FPL than the tiro. The trio are also owned only by 1.97% of managers overall and 32.27% in the top 10K.

Tino Livramento is another defender that should automatically enter any FPL GW12 wildcard draft, the saints full-back has been absolutely brilliant so far this season having failed to return only once in the last eight games.

The fifth defender spot is where you can go differential and there are quite a few options to consider. Now with Conte being the manager of Spurs the stocks of Spurs full-backs have gone up considerably. Both Reguilon and Emerson Royal could be involved in both ends of the pitch and could be very good defensive picks in your FPL GW12 wildcard team. Other defensive options include Chilwell, Dias who are good options but doubling up with expensive defensive options going into the festive fixture runs could turn out to be problematic.

Alternate defenders to consider in your FPL GW12 wildcard team

If you’re looking at cheaper defensive options then Palace defenders including Mitchell, Guehi could be great choices. Aston Villa full-backs, Cash, and Targett should also be on our watchlist considering how attacking full-backs are in new manager Gerrard’s system.

FPL GW12 Wildcard Midfielders:

Mo Salah auto-picks himself without a doubt such has been the form he has been in so far this season. The other midfielder spots is where the dilemma lies because there haven’t been many great options in midfield this season.

Gallagher is the second-highest scoring midfielder this season, he has scored four goals and four assists so far and has been crucial for the good start Palace have had this season. At 5.8 Million Gallagher is an absolute bargain and essential. Palace also have a very good run of fixtures with Burnley, Aston Villa, and Leeds in the next three games.

Jota and Foden play for two of the best-attacking teams in the Premier League and have their spots nailed for a considerable time. Roberto Firmino is injured and is expected to be out until late December making Jota an amazing option in your FPL GW12 wildcard. Phil Foden has been thriving this season coming back from injury and has been relishing his new role this season and has started six games continuously and has been subbed off only once during the period which shows how key he is to the city attack now.

Jota and Foden also have a combined top10k ownership of just 3.93% and could help you gain ranks quickly.

Bissouma is the other midfielder in our FPL GW12 wildcard draft just to make up for funds as he is just 4.4 Million.

Alternate midfielders to consider in your FPL GW12 wildcard team

Emilie Smith Rowe is another budget midfielder like Gallagher who has been amazing in FPL this season. He has scored four goals and made two assists already registering 57 points making him the fifth-highest scoring midfielder. Although Arsenal have a somewhat tough run of fixtures, ESR should continue to fire.

Heung min son could be another great option considering he’ll be playing under Conte and Spurs have a great run of fixtures.

Raphinha and Bowen have been very good over the last few weeks but their tough fixture run is a slight cause of concern.

Trossard could be a great wildcard differential midfielder. The Brighton attacker has scored twice in the last two games playing as a false nine and also took the penalty last week. He is owned by just 2.6% of managers making him a great option.

Bernardo Silva too has been going under the radar and has registered two goals and an assist in the last four games. He has also played every game since GW4. Wilfred Zaha rounds up our FPL GW12 wildcard midfielder suggestions with the Palace attacker enjoying good form and fixtures.

Harry Kane and Callum Wilson make our wildcard team. Kane showed signs of being back to his best against Everton and was sensational for England on international duty. Spurs have some amazing fixtures as seen below and he is expected to thrive under Conte. Getting Kane over Son is tempting as the fact that he’ll be on penalties and also offers a direct route to Ronaldo in GW16 when Man United begin their amazing run of fixtures.

Spurs fixtures

Callum Wilson has been reunited with his old manager Eddie Howe under whom he had his best season. Howe is expected to again have the same impact on Wilson and the Newcastle target man is hard to ignore whilst on a Wildcard. They play Brentford, Norwich, and Burnley in the span of the next four weeks which makes it worth the gamble. Wilson is also known to have the reputation of smashing it against the smaller teams as well. Do check out our Player in focus article on Wilson where we take a deep look at him and Newcastle.

Davis takes the last forward spot as a non-playing bench striker.

Alternate forwards to consider in your FPL GW12 wildcard team

There aren’t many good forward options this season following injuries to Bamford, DCL, and the poor form of Vardy, Toney, and a few more budget strikers. Raul Jimenez has been in good form, Hee-chan as well and one of the Wolves forward could be a good choice. Bentake/Edouard has also been very good for Palace and could be a shrewd pick.

Michail Antonio has not been amongst the goals off later but he’s very much involved in almost all the West ham goals during the period and has been unlucky not to return. In spite of a bad run of fixtures, it isn’t too bad to hold him, especially after how the hammers played against Liverpool.

FPL GW12 Wildcard Goalkeepers:

Popular budget goalkeeper Sanchez is out of GW12 following a red card in GW11 which makes a case for alternate options. You can either go Sanchez/Steele and play Steele once or pick someone like Guaita who has a very good run of fixtures, the palace defence is also ever-improving having conceded an xGC of just 13.1 which is only bettered by Man City, Liverpool, and Chelsea. Ramsdale could be another option but their fixture run is not so good-looking.

Our FPL GW12 Wildcard draft

I tried to evaluate my FPL GW12 Wildcard trying to be unbiased and here’s what I think –

Strong points –

  • Heavy on defence with all five attacking minded defenders
  • Going early on Jota and Foden who have a combined ownership of just 3.93% in the top 10K and 1.64% overall
  • Targetting fgood fixture runs for Kane(Spurs) ans Wilson(Newcastle) anticipating new manager bounce

Weak points –

  • Bench very poor going into the festive period of fixtures
  • Rotation a cause of concern with the likes of James, Cancelo.
