GW9 was one of the most random weeks that we have ever seen in this game. With a total of 40 goals scored in the Gameweek, 3 players managed to get a hat-trick, one of them being the most captained player, Mo Salah. Also, a lot of injuries also came with the week, which forces a Wildcard to be played. Here’s a Wildcard draft that I would go for on an FPL GW10 Wildcard.

FPL GW10 Wildcard defenders:
The defence line of Trent – Cancelo – Chilwell; speaks for itself. Although, Chilwell and Cancelo are slight rotation risk, they have high potential to deliver attacking returns and bonus points. With players like Livramento and Jansson on the bench, benching of these players wouldn’t hurt that much.
FPL GW10 Wildcard Midfielders:
The first midfield spot goes to Mo Salah. The second nailed on pick on my Wildcard would be Phil Foden, as it seems that Pep has started trusting him a bit more. Son, Mbeumo (if fit) and ESR fill the other three spots. Mount (for long term) and Havertz (for short term), are also great alternatives to Foden/Son.
FPL GW10 Wildcard Forwards:
The Premium forwards have been underwhelming lately, at the same time Antonio has been consistently getting points, making him the first name on the forward line. the other two being, Ivan Toney and Hwang. Hwang contributes to a strong bench, coming in when any of the defenders/mids are benched.
FPL GW10 Wildcard Goalkeepers:
This position has a lot lesser options, with Raya getting injured and Arsenal managing to concede in every game. The combo of Foster and Sanchez looks good to me, as they can be rotated every week for the better fixture.
FPL GW10 Wildcard Team
I tried to evaluate my FPL GW10 Wildcard trying to be unbiased and here’s what I think –
Strong points –
- A very strong bench, that can help cover the benching of players like Foden, Chilwell and Cancelo. Also sets the team up in good shape for the December’s fixture run ( a lot of mid-week games).
- Getting players like Son and Foden early for their upcoming good run which could help capture the future price rises.
- Solid defence of Trent – Cancelo -Chilwell – Livramento – Jansson, have high potential to get attacking returns along with the clean sheets.
Weak points –
- No premium Forward, making it to difficult to get the likes of Kane, Ronaldo when their fixtures turn
- This might not be a weak point exactly but having Two 5.5m midfielders and one 5.5m forward, seems like too many cheap options, who might lose their value soon.
- Benching of all rotation risk players in the same week (Chilwell, Cancelo, Foden, Hwang).
This team, I feel is the perfect balance between the safe and the risky approach. Good luck to everyone for the season ahead!
