UCL Fantasy is finally back!! There are a lot of premium picks ranging across all positions so it’s hard to fit in more than a couple of them. With the help of these budget enablers managers can look to seek great value and potentially fit in an extra big hitter. In this article, we will take a look at the UCL Fantasy Budget Enablers in different positions.
UCL Fantasy Budget Enablers-
Note: Numbers used in the article are as of 10/9/2021 and weekend games are not included.
UCL Fantasy Goalkeepers
Maarten Stekelenburg : €4.5m – Ajax
With Onana out until November Stekelenburg is the first choice keeper for Ajax now. With 2 clean sheets so far in the league, Stekelenburg could be a great budget pick in a relatively easy group with only Dortmund being a major threat.
Gregor Kobel : €4.5m – Borussia Dortmund
Starting in goal for Dortmund now Kobel provides a cheap route into the BVB defense at €4.5m. Though Dortmund have not been great at the back in the Bundesliga, conceding 6 goals in 3 matches they tend to step up their game in the UCL. With opening fixtures against Besiktas and Sporting, Kobel could provide better value than the defenders who are priced higher than him.
Juan Musso : €4.5m – Atalanta
Another keeper in the €4.5m price bracket who could prove to be a bargain over the course of the group stage. Atalanta kept 3 CS in the group stage last season and has been solid at the back so far in the league. Starting the campaign against Villareal and Young Boys, Musso should be in the points soon.
Ersin Destanoglu : €4m – Besiktas
The only starting goalkeeper in the game so far who is priced at €4m. A rather tough group for them as they face Dortmund and Ajax but he could be on your bench and save managers 0.5m. Besiktas have not conceded a goal in the Super Lig so far and Destanoglu could be the perfect 2nd GK pick.
UCL Fantasy Defenders
Marcos Acuna : €4.5m – Sevilla
Sevilla have been placed in a good group facing Wolfsburg, RB Salzburg, and Lille. Apart from the clean sheets, Acuna has good attacking potential too as he tends to go quite forward. Sevilla have conceded 1 goal in the first 3 league games and should continue to build on that.
Another option to consider from this team is Diego Carlos (€4.5m). Great at balls recovered (58) and got 18 points for that last season.
Noussair Mazraoui : €4.5m – Ajax
A great attacking full-back and Ajax are in a good group. Mazraoui has a goal and 2 assists so far in the Eredivisie and could provide some big hauls. He had 44 ball recoveries last season getting 12 points for that. One of the best €4.5m options to get.
Josip Stanisic : €4.5m – Bayern Munich
The cheapest way to potentially get into the Bayern defense. Stanisic has been putting some solid performances this season with starting in 2 league games and the Supercup so far. Keep an eye on Pavards fitness as when fit he should slot back in that position. Sule can also start at RB so don’t be surprised to see Stanisic on the bench.
Jerome Roussillion : €4m – Wolfsburg
A great cheap pick in my opinion who has the potential to get points across both ends of the pitch. Wolfsburg faces Lille, Sevilla, and Salzburg in the group stage and should keep a few CS along the way. They have been solid at the back so far just conceding 1 goal in 3 matches in the Bundesliga. Roussillon has started all 3 matches so far and scored the winning goal against RB Leipzig before the break.
Maximilian Wober : €4m – RB Salzburg
The second €4.0m pick on this list Wober could be a great budget option to consider. He is a regular starter for Salzburg who have just conceded 3 goals in 6 games in the league so far. Wober had 53 ball recoveries last season accumulating 16 points for that.

UCL Fantasy Midfielders
Jorginho: €6m – Chelsea
A cheap starter who’s great at ball recoveries. Jorginho was the 4th highest points scorer among mids last season with 57 points. He got 80 ball recoveries (23 points) and could be an option to consider. Not sure if he’s still on penalties though after the arrival of Lukaku.
Marcos Llorente: €6m – Atleitco Madrid
Llorente has been a regular starter for Atletico Madrid mainly on the right-hand side of the pitch. He could get a few attacking returns along the way and some points for balls recovered too. At his price of €6m, he could be a decent option to consider.
N’Golo Kante: €5.5m – Chelsea
Another option to consider from Chelsea is N’Golo Kante. A beast at balls recovered but is facing some injury issues currently. Managers should keep an eye on his fitness but at €5.5m he could save that extra €0.5m for those deciding between him and Jorginho.
Brenden Aaronson : €5.5m – RB Salzburg
A very exciting pick in my opinion. Aaronson has been playing as a number 10 and scored in both of the playoff matches against Brondby. Salzburg are a very exciting team and have shown in the past that they can spring in a surprise or two. At €5.5m, the 20-year-old could be a great budget and differential pick.
Edson Alvarez: €4.5m – Ajax
The perfect cheap enabler to keep on your bench. Alvarez is a regular starter for Ajax and at €4.5m he could slot in that 5th mid spot. For managers looking to bring in an extra big hitter, he could save some funds for that.

UCL Fantasy Forwards
Karim Adeyemi: €7m – RB Salzburg
A highly-rated young German player. Adeyemi just got his debut goal for Germany in the international break and has been in fine form for club too. Salzburg are an attacking team and he could get some attacking returns in a group which is not very tough.
Lassina Traore: €6.5m – Shakhtar Donetsk
Another player who could be a good budget-friendly option in the front 3. Traore has scored 5 goals so far for his new club Shakhtar after arriving from Ajax this summer. Decent MD 1 option but faces Inter Milan and Real Madrid during MD2-5.
Martin Braithwaite: €6m – Barcelona
Braithwaite can be a good option to consider from md2 onwards. (Bayern in MD1) He has scored 2 goals and provided an assist so far in the La Liga and could be a good pick for his low price tag.
Update: Braithwaite is injured and ruled out for 3-4 months with a knee injury. The article was written before the injury.
