FPL Gameweek 1 Team Reveal: Building a BruNO Draft | FPLOsama

This blog is part of our free-to-access FPL Team reveals of our allaboutfpl specialists which is a team of six writers with multiple top 10k, 5k, and top 500 finishes amongst them. You can find all of the team reveals here.

@FPLOsama is the first one to go with one top 5K and three top 10K ranks. Four days to go until the 2021/22 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season kicks off, which seems an appropriate time to share my current FPL Gameweek 1 team.

Please note the draft is the current version and the allaboutfpl specialists might change it closer to the deadline. The team will be updated in the blog and also on their Twitter accounts. So follow @FPLOsama on Twitter to stay updated!

Also do vote in this week’s Gameweek 1 allaboutfpl captaincy poll. The same will be available in the captaincy analysis and metrics blog written by@AK_FPL1. The metrics has been delivering consistently with a success of more than 80% since debuting in GW29 last year and is absolutely free. Stay tuned for the same.

FPL Gameweek 1 GoalKeepers

Sanchez (£4.5) is actually a bargain with a solid and strong defensive ending for Brighton last season. Since GW19with no team conceded goals less than Brighton (17) except Chelsea (15).

Brighton will be avoiding the top 6 when they play: bur(A) – WAT(H) – EVE(H)- bre(A) – LEI(H) – cry(A) which could be appealing to own the 7th best GK with respect to the save percentage since he started playing.

Foster (£4.0) is my budget goalkeeper enabler.

FPL Gameweek 1 Defenders

Alexander-Arnold (£7.5) who boasted impressive attacking returns with 2 goals and 8 assists during the last campaign. No defender entirely had goal attempts more than him as he is also ranked 2nd in touches in the final third of the opponents as well as Penalty touches (84)

Liverpool is facing the 3 promoted teams along with BUR(H) – lee(a) – CRY(H) in their first 8 matches

Lucas Digne (£5.5) dazzle last season with 9 assists and 44 chances created (6th) as well as 11 big chances created ( 3rd joint with Robertson )

The French LB took 44 corners and will be on the majority of set pieces with the absence of Gylfi Sigurðsson

Everton are ranked 3rd in our season defense ticker as they face : SOU(H) – lee(A) – bha(A) – BUR(H) – avl(A) – NOR(H)

Luke Shaw (£5.5) managed to secure 10 clean sheets with 6 goal involvements (1 Goal + 5 Assists)

The LB also created 72 chances (2nd ) and 7 big chances (7th) while had 66 penalty touches (6th)

Man United are avoiding the top 6 in their first six matches could help Shaw to secure some cleansheets and provide attacking returns as well

Joël Veltman (£4.5) will be my fourth defender who made my draft post instead of Lamptey whose absence was confirmed earlier.

Veltman will most likely be playing in a back three system along with Lewis Dunk (£5.0) and Adam Webster (£4.5)

Konstantinos Tsimikas (£4.0) is the recent asset to enter my squad after the bad news for Andrew Robertson (£7.0) who suffered an ankle ligament damage which can take up to 6 weeks to recover from

Tsimikas had an impressive pre-season and has been praised by his coach Jurgen Klopp and should be covering Robbo during his absence. An absolute bargain.

FPL Gameweek 1 Midfielders

Mohamed Salah(£12.5) doesn’t need a stats introduction to justify his ownership. Obviously, he is the first name locked in my team.

He was the Top FPL scorer twice and had massive returns to his team and on penalties. A strong contender for captaincy every week as well.

Heung-Min Son (£10.0) is making the current draft despite the tough opening fixture had an unbelievable season with 17 Goals and 11 Assists as well as creating 14 big chances.

The Korean had an impressive record against Man city scoring 6 and providing 1 assist in all competitions

Riyad Mahrez (£9.0) is always impressing whenever on the pitch and I count on him as the safest Man city asset to own with the absence of Kevin De Bruyne (£12.0) and Phil Foden (£8.0) for Injury concerns and the non-availability of Jack Grealish (£8.0) to start from the beginning per Guardiolla’s confirmation.

Mahrez Will face NOR, ARS & SOU in his first 6 matches which could be very appealing to the Algerian winger to return

Mason Greenwood (£7.5) whenever he is on the pitch he delivers. With Marcus Rashford (£9.5) being out for months and both Cavani and Sancho didn’t make the preseason yet, I see Mason can cover my BruNO decision

He scored 7 goals and provided 2 assists with only 21 starts last season.

Raphinha (£6.5) is an absolute robbery with respect to his price jumped over my draft and excluded Sarr from being in my initial XI.

The Brazilian scored 6 goals and provided 10 assists in the previous season with 12 Big chances created

FPL Gameweek 1 Forwards

Danny Ings (£8.0) managed to secure a spot in my draft after the injury concerns on Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£6.5) who was locked for until he go his toe injury and not featuring yet in the preseason

Ings will be the target man for Aston Villa and should be given the penalty duties which might be impacting Ollie Watkins (£7.5) if he takes a wider position

Ivan Toney (£6.5) is the man for Brentford who finished as the Championship’s top scorers. Toney managed to score 33 goals and providing 10 assists in his last championship

I agree that Brentford is a real concern for some FPL managers to get a player from, but Toney is their talisman and should be involved in their attacking returns AND on Penalties

My main strikers are paired with Michael Obafemi (£4.5) as a budget enabler.
