If you play Fantasy Premier League, you’ll generally have a touch of additional affection for those uncommon players that give you an edge. For Leeds United’s Patrick Bamford, that player is himself. Although Leeds plays Manchester United, Everton, and Liverpool in the first 4 Gameweeks, he’s their main man, if you’re thinking of taking a risk then he’s a decent option.
The Leeds frontman was a significant threat when confronting sides who competed in the main 10 out of 2020/21. The insights show Bamford can flourish over that testing early timetable and demonstrate he merits the additional expense. His 56 shots, 49 shots in the box, 17 big chances, and 22 shots on target all came against such opponents. As the focal point of Marcelo Bielsa’s attacking group, the striker can legitimize his new expense and prize those backers with early rewards.

Ollie Watkins was another forward who stepped up his output right from the beginning of the season. His work rate is exceptional, presses really high, main counter-attack threat likes to do lay-offs and can create some chances out of nowhere.
In the second half of the 20/21 campaign, he had a goal or an assist in 13 of his subsequent 21 appearances, in fact from Gameweek 20, Watkins recorded 43 shots inside the penalty area and 26 shots on target were both the top totals among forwards in Fantasy.

Calvert-Lewin was Everton’s standout attacker under Carlo Ancelotti last term. He was involved in a team-leading 54 percent of their goals, scoring 16 and assisting nine. He had an exceptional start to the campaign, he scored 10 goals and an assist in his first 9 games, blanking only one.
Everton has some mouth-watering opening fixtures but there might be a slight concern with the departure of Carlo Ancelotti but with Rafa Benítez coming in, he might operate in the 4-2-3-1 formation similar to the system he used and became very successful later on at Liverpool. In this formation, Calvert-Lewin becomes a very important player.

Cavani ended the previous season scoring 6 goals from 13 games and assisting 2. He guaranteed to score goals even off the bench which resulted in more predictable run till mid 20 GWs prior to missing up another 4 games with a thump. In general of his 26 appearances, Cavani began just 13 matches which stays a reason of concern for most FPL supervisors.
This might be a very important season for him and he might start more games with respect to his debut season. Whenever he plays a full 90 minutes, his work rate and ability to find space in the opposition box makes him a real threat.

Danny Ings will be a very interesting pick as South’ton have a mixed start to the season facing Manchester United and Chelsea both, he had a very good 2019/20 season but his form dropped a bit in the 2020/21 season with injuries also playing a part in it., the forward was limited to just 26 starts last season due to injury yet had a major influence on the Southampton attack, he was involved in 48% of Saints’ goals, scoring 12 and assisting four. Ings’ numbers last season further shows his significance to the side. If Ings remains injury-free, he can possibly have a major impact on managers’ forward lines in 2021/22.

With form hard to assess in front of another season, the main Fantasy administrators frequently center around choosing players from groups with the best opening apparatuses for their Gameweek 1 crew, and Michail Antonio certainly belongs to that group. He is exceptional in front of the goal and Hammers have a great run of fixtures in the opening weeks, he’ll be very influential if he remains fit.

Iheanacho produced wonders in the second half of the 20/21 campaign, scoring 12 goals and two assists from just 13 appearances. His link-up play with Vardy was top-class, he was so lethal in front of the goal scoring some absolute screamers. He compelled us to take him into our team. In the 21/22 campaign, he has already booked his place in 15.6% of squads.

9. Raúl Jiménez FWD WOL £7.5

Jimenez in the 2019/20 season, produced 24 attacking returns. He topped the shots charts for forwards in that season with 118 attempts and shots in the box (93), he was out in front for the creativity stakes this time, creating another 13 big chances for his teammates. Jimenez created 48 opportunities in total, second only to Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino. The striker landed in second on the xGI charts in 2019/20, with his total of 21.73 not far off first-placed Jamie Vardy (23.35).
In the 2020/21 campaign, Jimenez ranked fifth among all forwards for attempts (26) from Gameweeks 1 to 10 scoring but unfortunately, he sustained a fractured skull which ruled him out for the rest of the season. This will be a comeback season for him and with the new manager coming in with a run of easy fixtures in the beginning really makes him a strong candidate for the forward position. He’s owned by only 3.0% of managers which makes him a huge differential pick.
