This is one thing we (FPL Managers) are in constant search of, aren’t we? If you haven’t yet figured it out yourself, maybe you would not need to after this article! If you are a new FPL manager, these FPL rotational pairs generally help you to get one budget asset from each team, who you can bench/start depending on whose fixture is good. You will definitely understand more after seeing an example.
So, here are some of the best teams to pair to get an easy run of fixtures. Just to be on the same page, the FDRs against these fixtures are not what Official FPL have assigned them but our own FDR ratings!
Do check out the article if you haven’t already.
Best FPL Rotational Pairs(Teams) for Alternate Easy Fixtures
Brighton and Leeds United
This fixture pairing for me is the best rotating pair I have seen in my analysis.
The first two rows you see are the fixtures of these two teams individually. Combined Fixture and FDR (row 3rd and 4th) is what the fixture would look like if you pick the best out of the two
If you look at the combined fixture, they do not face any of the top half side from the last season in their first 15 matches. The only possible downside to the combination is 8 away fixtures out of 15
With both Brighton and Leeds loaded with good budget/mid-ranged options, it could be a great option to start with!
Arsenal and Brighton
That’s a 2nd appearance for Brighton!
Arsenal and Brighton offer a great rotation for the first nine matches, where the rotation avoids a top half opposition in 8 matches except in GW3 (against EVE). On top of that, the rotation also guarantees you six home fixtures out of the nine!
It’s a season for Arsenal where we can see some budget options given regular time. So definitely a team and rotation to keep an eye on.
Everton and Leeds United
Brighton and Leeds are killing it!
Everton in general have a great run of starting fixtures. But, when combined with Leeds it becomes even more delicious. Like the Brighton and Leeds pair, they do play any top-half side from last season, except when they play each other in GW2.
Just take a moment to admire that sea of green!
Aston Villa and Leicester City
Their combined fixture includes only two face-offs against a top-half side in the first 13 matches – GW4 (against MCI) and GW10 (against Arsenal). Given both these fixtures are played at home and by Leicester, there is hope of returns for your Leicester assets.
In addition to that, nine out of thirteen fixtures would be at Home.
Leeds United and West Ham United
The 5th pair we have is that of Leeds and West Ham
Their combined fixture includes only two face-offs against a top-half side in 10 matches, which are in GW2 (against EVE) and GW6 where they play each other.
Like Leicester previously, both these fixtures are played at home by Leeds, and being a top 10 side themselves, there are decent chances of returns for their assets!
Brighton and Newcastle United
The last and maybe the least!
While the pair is not as enticing as the previous five, Brighton and Newcastle do offer some good alternate fixtures. More importantly, both teams are full of budget/mid-ranged assets to rotate.
In the first 15 matches, they face a top-half side from the last season only 4 times (GWs – 5, 7, 10, and 13), which is a fair ratio. Also, 3 out of those 4 “tough fixtures” are at home, which weakens the impact of the fixture difficulty to some degree!
So, those are my picks for the best pair of teams to rotate. I also made a video on the same topic if you wanna check out and subscribe to my channel while you are at it!
