Hey guys and welcome back to my second article with allaboutfpl. This week I will give you some of the best options for Euro Fantasy Matchday 2 primarily for those using limitless and even if you arenโt there are still some fantastic options you can bring in. Playing your limitless chips allows you to bring in a team of players that accumulate to any price and cost. There is no budget that reflects in the chip name, limitless.
Note: Remember the deadline for your matchday 2 team is the 16th of June. This means that the day after match day 1 finishes match day 2 starts so you have less than 24 hours to get those teams locked in.
The importance of this article coming out early is that you have a few days to prepare for that matchday 2 draft and donโt get rushed into putting it together. So look at the images below and this should navigate you to both making matchday 2 changes and finding how to play your limitless chip.
So limitless can be activated and we can already make transfers for matchday 2 as you can see in the images belowย
Note: Cost will only be mentioned for those who are not using limitless (remember chip users you donโt need to be aware of player cost). Read more on limitless chip and chip strategy.
EURO Fantasy Chip Strategy: What to do with the Elusive Boosts?
Goal Keepers for Euro Fantasy Matchday 2 Limitless Team
Donnarumma
Cost: 5.5 millionย
Lots of great options for the goalkeeper spots this week. So firstly Donnarumma plays on the first matchday in matchday 2 giving you plenty of days after for your second keeper if he doesnโt keep a cleanย sheet.
Italy have kept 9 clean sheets in the last 10 matches which is quite frankly amazing and nearly perfect. In fact, again, only one goal conceded in the last 10.
Switzerland have only failed to score once in their last 10 matches becoming a really interesting matchup. Also probably a slight positive that they do offer a threat because we donโt just want the clean sheet we want some save points as well. An interesting matchup against Switzerland but on that tight rope of the clean sheet and potential save points makes Donnarumma a fantastic pick coupled with the next goalkeeper choice.
Pickford
Cost: 5.5 millionย
Coupled with Donnarumma, Pickford becomes a fantastic backup if Italy donโt get the clean sheet, England could well make up for that. 5 out 8 matches England kept the clean sheet in the qualifying round. More recently England have kept 6 clean sheets in their last 10 matches.
Scotland could offer some threat against England due to the rivalry between the two nations with both being in the U.K. itโs always been there. This gives the chance for Pickford to get those bonus save points.ย For me, two of the best defenses for matchday 2 means that picking the keeper from each makes sense.
Defenders for Euro Fantasy Matchday 2 Limitless Team
Pavard
Cost: 6 millionย
Playing 7 out of the last 10 matches for France Pavard has secured his first place position for sure. In those 7 matches claimed 5 clean sheets which is fantastic.
Scoring 1 assist and a goal in the last 7 heโs played along with his 5 clean sheets gives Pavard 7 returns in his last 7 matches for France which is impossible to ignore.
Checkout the heat maps below for Pavard for both club and country reflecting how attacking he is.
Pavard heatmap for Bayern:
Pavard heatmap for France:
For me Pavard has to make your squad when looking for an attacking defender option and against Hungary feels perfect.
Lucas Hernandez
Cost: 6.5 millionย
Hernandez similar to Pavard holds great potential for matchday 2. Playing 8 games of the last 10 matches (one more than Pavard) Hernandez seems to have also nailed down his first-choice position at the back.ย 5 clean sheets in his last 8 matches played for France, again fantastic and the minimum you expect from a defender.
Youโll see below that Hernandez loves to get forward for both club and country in the heat maps for both below
Lucas Hernandez heatmap for Club:
Lucas Hernandez heatmap for Country:
There you have it. If you decide on one defender like me it would be Pavard based on the fact his attacking stats are better. Thereโs also the fact that Digne from Everton has also had a good season and in the past Digne has switched with Hernandez during matches.
For me Pavard stands out over the two players but if wanting to choose a double defence I would go for both.
Leandro Spinazzola
Cost: 5.5 millionย
The Italian defence have kept 9 clean sheets in their last 10 matches and have only conceded 1 single goal within that fantastic set of games.
Below youโll see just how attacking Spinazzola is for club and country and the attacking positions he likes to take up.
Spinazzola heatmap for Club:
Spinazzola heatmap for Country:
As Spinazzola is quite new to the Italian team in terms of reliability of starts. However, his fantastic form for club recently has nailed him down in the defense. His first performance last night was pretty incredible and further nailed him to his position.
A clean sheet and an assist in the opener against turkey shows that both the clean sheets and the attacking threat is there. His heat map from last night similar to above makes Spinazzola a fantastic option going forward and coming up in a game against Switzerland could hold great potential again.
Zinchenko
Cost: 5.5 millionย
In the game marked down as a defender but is definitely not, which makes Zinchenko a fantastic option already because he plays in midfield and loves to attack.
In Euro qualification Ukraine kept 5 clean sheets in 8 matches showing the defence is fully capable. This is important because although zinchenko plays in midfield he still gets the clean sheets points.
Their form dipped a little while after the qualifying round but has picked up as of late claiming 2 clean sheets on the bounce.
A goal and an assist in the qualifying round and 5 clean sheets gave Zinchenko 7 returns in the 8 qualifying matches he played for the Ukraine showing fantastic value.
Youโll see from the below heat maps for both club and country that zinchenko loves to attack
Zinchenko Heatmap for Club:
Itโs also important to note that not only did Zinchenko take a clean sheet away he also took and scored a penalty. Zinchenkos position in the game compared to playing for Ukraine is a no-brainer for matchday 2. Showing plenty of attacking threat every match with the combination of clean sheets and up against an inconsistent North Macedonia make him a must.ย
Zinchenko Heatmap for Country:
Alioski
Cost: 4.5 millionย
Cost is an interesting thing because you could argue that his cost going into match day 2 against the Ukraine could be 5-6 million.
Firstly North Macedonia although somewhat inconsistent are capable of clean sheets. Only 4 in the last 10 matches isnโt fantastic but match that with the fact Alioski takes the penalties and youโve got yourself a top pick for match day 2.
Playing 5 matches in the last 5 making him nailed and with 2 goals , 2 clean sheets and an assist in those same 5 matches reflects the fact that he doesnโt need clean sheets to return points like a lot of pricey midfielders do.
Youโll see from the heat map below that alioski loves to attack and similar to his club team Leeds never stops.
A great addition to this list for matchday 2 players.
Midfielders for Euro Fantasy Matchday 2 Limitless Team
Lorenzo Insigneย
Cost: 8.5 millionย
Firstly insigne takes up the position of midfield in the game but itโs well know that insigne acts as a forward in terms of the positions he takes up.
In serie A for Napoli this year Insigne played 35 matches scored 19 goals and created 7 assists leading to 26 goal contributions in 35 matches which is great.
2 goals and 3 assist in the last 5 insigne has started for Italy showing that when he plays heโs highly effective.
Their opponent Switzerland recent form shows they like to score but also concede. 11 goals in the last 10 conceded for Switzerland.
Italy haves showed that offensively they can be just as reliable as defensively. Insigne being part of the lethal 3 up top against a team who love to attack is the reason he makes this list and especially because of his recent form in stats.
Gini Wijnaldum
Cost: 8 million
Wijnaldum has played a vital part in the Netherlands recent form. Playing 7 in their last 7 games. Scoring 4 goals and creating 2 assists within that time.
Wijnaldum is one of the Netherlands highest shooting players with an average of 4.1 shots per game during the euro qualifying round and although has sat back during his time at Liverpool has a much more threatening position for Netherlands in a sort of number 10 ish role
Youโll see below Wijnaldums attacking role in the heat map below for his country:
For me wijnaldum against Austria who have conceded 8 goals in their last 5 makes this a great game for him. With the attacking role and the love to shoot from distance which when scoring gives you an extra point in eff for me makes the midfield.
Ivan Perisic
Cost: 8 millionย
Croatia are very inconsistent at the moment but what they are doing is scoring goals whether they lose or not.
In the euros qualifying round Croatia scored 17 goals in the 8 matches they played, more than 2 goals per game. Perisic scoring 3 goals and creating 2 assists within that period totalling 5 goal contributions in 8 games which is good.
More recently in their last 10 matches scoring 14 goals they have continued their scoring form with Perisic scoring 2 goals and creating 1 assist in his last 3 matches for Croatia.
Croatiaโ opponents the Czech Republic in their last 5 conceding 9 goals which is nearly 2 goals per game appear to be struggling at the back.
For me Perisic comes into the frame for matchday 2 with a good fixture and good form.
Kevin De Bruyne
Cost: 10.5 millionย
ย Ignore the fact it says doubtful as this was an image prior to the first game.
Against Denmark who have a good defense, you may think. Well, not long ago the Danes still had a solid defense and still managed to lose 4-2 to Belgium even when the Danes were keeping plenty of clean sheets. With De Bruyne scoring and assisting in the same game.
Firstly Belgium have not failed to score a goal since 2018 29 matches ago which straight away is fantastic.
4 goals and 7 assists in the qualifying stage, creating 11 goals in 6 games.ย
More recently for Belgium 4 assists in 2 goals following the 4 games he played in after Euro qualification.
So within both periods combined 6 goals and 11 assists in 10 matches working out at 17 goal contributions for Belgium in the last 10 matches he has started which is incredible.
For me KDB makes the cut with threats all around and the lethal lukaku ahead of him
Mason Mount
Cost: 7 millionย
Firstly England have only failed to score just 3 times in their last 20 matches. Scoring 20 goals in their last 10 averaging 2 goals per match showing scoring form.
In the euros qualifying round mount played in 6 out of the 8 matches played showing the time mount became a favourite of Gareth Southgate.
More recently taking away the 2 recent games where mount wasnโt in the squad due to his champions league victory mount played 9 out of the last 10 games again reflecting his reliability to start.
Mounts role does somewhat vary in the lineup with Southgate using masons versatility to where he needs sometimes in central midfield and sometimes as part of the attacking front 3.
Mount takes some corners and free kicks for England so poses an additional threat that other midfielders do not.
2 goals and an assist in his last 5 matches shows great recent form. After winning the champions league mount will be looking to prove he can do it on an even bigger scale with both creativity and goal threat.
8 goals conceded in the last 10 games for Scotland which doesnโt sound so bad but against England will push for the win due to rivalry. England in their last 4 head to heads against Scotland have scored 3 goals 3 times within those 4 and 2 goals in the remainder.
Mount against attacking Scotland looking to get one over on their neighbours and leaving plenty of space to utilise gives him an edge. His set pieces , reliability and goal threat make him a great option.
Gareth Bale
Cost: 9.5 million
Bales recent club career has been difficult in terms of minutes but has shown when he does play heโs very effective in attack
In the 20 matches Bale primarily from the wing. 11 goals and 2 assists contributing to 13 goals in 20 games I see as good.
Wales have always relied massively on Bale both legend and talisman whilst leading the attack up top giving bale an even more attacking position to what he was used to at his club.
Wales come up against a turkey who can score but concede a lot of goals. 16 in their last matches and dismantled by Italy they will be searching hard for points against wales leaving lots of space for the Welsh to capitalise on.
Ferran Torres
Cost: 8 million
During Euro qualification Spain scored 32 goals in 10 games averaging 3.2 goals a game showing they can put plenty of goals away when they play which is fantastic in terms of looking for players for your team.
With a fantastic 5 goals in his last 6 games for Spain Ferran Torres shows both reliability for minutes and his his ability to score plenty of goals as a midfielder and one of the best goal threats amongst all midfielders in the game over the last 5 for their national teams.
Spain play Poland who have also been leaking some goals as of late with conceding 12 goals in their last 10 matches and 8 in their last 5 showing their recent port defensive form is someone Torres and spain could attack.ย
Forwards for Euro Fantasy Matchday 2 Limitless Team
Benzema
Cost: 10 millionย
Again ignore doubtful as this was prior to the first match. Benzemaโs recent exile from the France squad since 2015 gives him no stats to rely on. However, now being brought back into the France squad makes him a perfect pick.
After years of exile from the France squad benzema has motivation to come back with a bang.
For Real Madrid and taking into account that this was quite a disappointment of a season for the club he still flourished at the age of 33.
Playing 34 matches for Real Madrid, scoring 23 goals and creating 9 assists accumulating to 32 goal contributions in 34 matches at the age he is reflects just how good benzema is.
Benzema is surely nailed to that forward spot and at 10 million is great value for those not using the limitless chip.
Antoine Griezemann
Cost: 11 millionย
Ready for these stats ?
Griezemann has played in a huge 10 games of France last 10 matches making him the most nailed player in the french team.
Scoring 5 goals in the same 10 matches is good. 3 goals and 5 assists in the 10 matches he played in during the European qualifiers is even better.
For Barcelona who arguably had a worse season than Real Madrid and have looked very average , Antoine played 36 matches , scored 13 goals and created 7 assists accumulating to 20 goal contributions in 36 matches.
Griezemann shows both reliability of minutes and of attacking returns making him a great option for match day 2.
There you have it. Some great France options for that matchday 2 team. Letโs move on to more options.
Burak Yilmaz
Cost: 8 millionย
Firstly turkey play Wales who are known for setting up a low block and counter attacking teams. However in this case wales will see turkey as an opposition that they can attack and for that reason leave space at the back for Yilmaz.
Although turkey defensively have been woeful and for me are an avoid for this game they score lots of goals.
18 goals scored in their 10 euro qualifying matches averaging 1.8 goals per match.
Recently 22 goals in their last 10 matches averaging 2.2 goals per match hock shows they can score plenty of goals regardless of the opponent. 3 against Croatia , 4 against the Netherlands.
Yilmaz himself 5 goals in his last 5 matches for turkey shows heโs in firing form and when on the pitch takes penalties giving him that extra path to goals.
Yilmaz for Lille his club playing 28 games in the season gone scoring 16 goals and creating 5 assist accumulating to 21 goal contributions in 28 games is impressive and even more so because heโs 35.
For me a fantastic option even on the limitless chip against an off form wales
Mbappe
Cost: 12 million
Mbappe is hands down one of the best players in the world.
Playing 7 games of France last 10 matches Mbappe is nailed without question. Scoring 2 goals and 2 assists contributing to 4 goals in 7 matches isnโt fantastic for him. But we know what he is capable of.
For PSG mbappe has consistently delivered in attacking returns. This season playing 31 games and 27 goals and creating 7 assists giving him 34 goals contribution in 31 matches reflects his world class ability.
For me an easy one for those using their limitless chip and even a transfer in for those that arenโt.
Harry Kane ย
Cost: 11.5 million
Weโve already discussed how many goals England have been scoring recently and in the European qualifiers and weโve already discussed Scotlandโs recent form.
Kane comes off the back of a fantastic individual season picking up the golden boot and beating salah scoring 23 goals and creating 14 assists contributing to 37 goals in the 35 games he played which is amazing.
Kane is the designated England penalty taker giving him even more of an edge for points over other options in this article.
With 12 goals and 4 assists in the 8 Euro qualifier games accumulating to 16 in 8 and on average contributing to 2 goals per game is an eye watering amount.
His recent form shows that Kane is one of the best forwards in the world and going into a game that both opponent and england will be loooking to win screams goals and assists for Kane and so becomes a must have.
So letโs just take a look at the majority of this list in a draft for matchday 2 and see how exciting it looks.
So guys there you have it. Some of the best options out there for Euro Fantasy Matchday 2 limitless and for those that are not using a chip but need some good picks.ย
