GW29, below are eight players that every FPL manager should have in their Free Hit team

GW29 Goalkeepers

Sanchez

£4.5m

3.6% Ownership

A home fixture for Brighton against Newcastle is the best “pick of a bad bunch” of fixtures that offers the possibility of a clean sheet.

With the majority of managers owning Martinez or Areola, Villa and Fulham face tough opposition in Spurs and Leeds respectively. Banking on a Brighton clean sheet is a risk worth taking for managers using the Free Hit chip this week.

FPL managers will be hoping Sanchez can mirror his impressive run of form between GW19-GW24 where he managed five clean sheets in six games and amassed a total of 6.5 PPG over these six games.

GW29 Defenders

Dallas

£5.1m

24.1% Ownership

An OOP defender is an FPL manager’s dream. Currently occupying a midfield role, Dallas has registered five goals and three assists this season, making him the fifth highest scoring defender in FPL. He has averaged 5.2 points per game (PPG) over his last five games.

After keeping Chelsea scoreless last weekend, Leeds will be hoping to do the same to a Fulham side who have scored only two goals in their last five games.

With the attacking threat as an OOP defender, Dallas should be the first defender transferred into your free hit team for GW29.

Dunk

£5.0m

8.3% Ownership

Surprisingly, Dunk is Brighton’s highest scoring FPL player this season ahead of Trossard and Maupay. After returning four goals this season, it’s clear to see he is a real aerial threat from set-pieces. He showcased this last week with his goal against Southampton.

Brighton’s defensive success explained above is also another reason he should be making it into your team for GW29. He also has the added attractiveness of being on some set piece duties in-front of goal.

GW29 Midfielders

Lingard

£6.1m

10.7% Ownership

Since joining West Ham, Jesse has registered four goals and two assists in six games. Amazingly, he has only blanked ONCE in his last six games.

He has averaged an impressive 7.33 PPG since his arrival in London. West Ham have scored 11 goals in the six games Lingard has played.

They come up against an Arsenal side who haven’t kept a clean sheet since GW21.

If West Ham wipeout Arsenal’s clean sheet this weekend, I expect Jesse to be amongst the goals!

Bale

£9.6m

11.9% Ownership

Bale has registered four goals and two assists in his last five games. After a less than impressive display in the NLD with him being hauled off before the hour mark, FPL managers will be hoping this was a once-off occurrence.

With the news that Son is likely to miss the Villa game through injury, Mourinho will be looking towards Bale and Kane to lead their attack.

The last time Bale played in Villa Park on Boxing Day in 2012, he registered a second half hat-trick. With an ownership of 11.9% he offers managers the chance of having a differential in their team. I’m expecting him to be amongst the points this GW!

Raphinha

£5.6m

13.7% Ownership

With five goals and six assists this season, FPL managers will be hoping Raphinha brings this fine form into GW29.

He is on set pieces and with the news from Bielsa that Bamford should be fine to face Fulham, Raphinha’s attacking potential has increased further.

Over the last 6GWs their opponents Fulham are ranked the third worst team for xGC (8.04) and are second worse for big chances conceded (12). (Stats courtesy of @TheFPLWay)

These numbers all point in favour of Raphinha returning this weekend.

GW29 Forwards

Kane

£11.5m

42.5% Ownership

Kane will undoubtedly be the most captained player this GW. With 29 goal involvements (16 goals, 13 assists) for Spurs this season it’s hard to look elsewhere for the armband this week.

Kane has an average of 6.2 PPG over the last five games. FPL managers were unlucky to come away with a blank from Kane in the NLD after he had a disallowed goal and hit the post in a game where he was uncharacteristically quiet.

With Villa only keeping one clean sheet in their last three against Sheffield United, Wolves and Newcastle, Kane will be looking to continue his fine form in-front of goal.

GW29 CAPTAIN LOCKED IN!

Bamford

£6.7m

48.7% Ownership

With Bielsa confirming that Bamford is not likely to miss the Fulham game, he is a name that should be cemented into your Free Hit team this week.

However, with only one goal in his last four games managers will be hoping he can turn this poor form around.

With Bamford on penalty duties I expect him to be amongst the goals Friday evening.
